Sweet! I have to ask though; what are those lumps on the male Qunari's skin?

The info on the surface dwarves was very cool as well.:)

Do want: a new Qunari squad mate. And maybe one a little easier to get along with than Sten, haha.

Huh. The human female's head was changed. I wonder if that was the original, or did the artist notice how odd the previous version looked?

I think it was to make all of them face the same direction.  Or maybe the artist was just unhappy with it, who knows.

Sten was pretty easy to get along with.

And I wish we'd get a Qunari ally too, but Bioware doesn't want to do it for some reason.

Really? It seems like any time I said anything to Sten, he'd get all offended and Disapprove (-5000) on me. Maybe it's just because what made Sten tick was kind of unusual, so I found it difficult to figure him out sometimes. But at the same time, I think that the Qunari were kind of portrayed as something exotic, different, and difficult to figure out, so it was all good.

Did they really say they don't want to? That makes me sad. :crying:

Funnily enough when I first played the game Sten practically approved of everything I said and did and by the time I was about a third into the game he was already at 100% approval.
Alistair on the other hand constantly got offended and dissaproved (- a bazillion) of everything I said/did.

I find myself curious as to who the Seer of Qont-arr is. Is it a chantry scholar (unlikely) or even a Qunari that wrote it?

Great blog, thanks for the new information.

I noticed that the heraldry of Kirkwall is that of the elves. So, I'm going to assume that the lands of the city once belonged to the elves along time ago before their second homeland was taken from them, and they were once made slaves. Very interesting information.

"The clans are as separate from one another as they are from human society, gathering every ten years for the Arlathvhen."

Is the Arlathvhen always held in the same destination and time? If the clans are very separate, I imagine it could make it rather difficult to organise such an event once a decade...

I thinnk the Qunari are the most interesting race in the world of Thedas! There is so much to them with their culture and the Qun. I really hope that one day we'll be able to play as one!

Nice addition to the lore. I also love how it's not made into random text posted by a developer but as a writen source from the Dragon Age world itself.

What's that little squiggle thing under the female Dwarf's skirt? Is it supposed to signify something?

Is it just me, or do the female human and elf look like they're standing like they should be wearing high heels? If they're tip-toeing* that changes their height relative to the others.

Yeah, the Qunari women are definitely pretty hot. Something tells me though if you were to inform them of this, you'd be beaten severely about the head and deposited in the nearest ye-olde trash receptacle.

The new Qunari pictures are very Predator-esque.

That's not necessary a mistake. In fact there are drawings from ancient Egypt which depict nobility - female and male alike - wearing high heels.

Sorry, but I'm kinda addicted to fashion (I know, this is probably a heretical confession to some of you, but hey, I'm a chick, I love Vogue and GLamour and... gaming.  What can I say, I like to diversify.Image IPB) and highheels have been in serious vogue since 1533 when Catherine de Medicci wore them to her wedding.  She was super short and customarily wore two inch high heels to add the illusion of height.  If you're looking for even earlier references, I believe the Egyptians were already mentioned and I would add that Roman tragic actors customarily wore platformde sandals called kothomi.

Edit: I can't believe I actually got a chance to use this infoImage IPB!!!!  My world economics history professor and my husband both laughed at me for choosing shoes and fashion for so many paper topics.

All the designs of the races just improved greatly in my mind. I liked Sten but he really just looked like a giant human, horns or not. The male dwarves look like man-beasts, as they should. Elves are taller and look better that way. The Alienage elves looked like they should be in Santa's workshop. It also seemed strange to me when I did the Dalish Elf Origin. I was the leader of the group with three humans and I was dwarfed by them (except by Leliana, Zevran and Ogrhen of course). The qunari look like larger man-beasts, also as they should.

No, it's once every ten years, but it's a different destination every time, they establish at the end of every Arlathvhen where the next one will be.

"Whoops, hope no one sees that..."

As for the Qunari...no qunari team mate....perhaps its a trick so they can actually give us a Tal Vashoth team mate to throw us off track!:bandit:

...Yea, I didn't think so....
