Interesting stuff about the Qunari. I dig the concept art. So they cut off the mages' horns?

EDIT - Oho, check this out and then the symbol scratched on the wall in this. That house could well be a mere Alienage slum, but the fact that the symbol is scratched over the Kirkwall heraldry makes me think of an elven uprising of some sort. They aren't the exact same symbol, but how dull would these boards be without speculation?

I actually doubt they have music, perhaps folk songs, but not dedicated musicians, the culture seems to not include any roles that are not necessary.  It would seem odd anyways from what we learned in origins, but they did change a lot of things for DA2.

The Qunari do have music, as well as art-- all part of the artisan class (and thus strictly the province of females). The Qunari are not drably utilitarian so much as they seek perfection. Qunari art might be considered strange from the perspective of other peoples, however, as they make it for different reasons: religious, mainly, as well as ornamentation of their architecture. The Qun is grand, after all, and dedicating one's life to its praise is no waste.

Maybe they cut their horns so they'll know that they're not part of the Qun anymore, and just a weapon?

Not having horns is a warning to most people who'd see them that they are dangerous.

But what about those not born with horns? Like Sten. They are considered special..?

Correct. Dangerous... but in a different way.

And then the Tal Vashoth? They shave the horns off right?

Some do. It really depends on how defiant and dangerous they feel. Posted Image

During the Arlathvhen, the every ten years meeting of the elvish clans, does all the members of all clans from all Thedas meet or it's just the Keepers of each clan (and maybe the first apprentices)? If the former, how many elves gather each time (more or less), where do they have the meetings, and has there been any organized attack against them (from Orlais, Tevinter, the chantry) at that time? Shouldn't be that easy to hide such gatherings.

Not all clans will make it to an Arlathvhen-- that would be a practical impossibility. But whoever can make it will go. It's like "DalishCon" complete with speaker panels and ancient lore trading cards.

Okay, not quite like that maybe.

It's a big deal, even so. Thousands of Dalish gathered in one place. One supposes that would make them vulnerable to an organized attack, sure, if one cared to take on such a large armed force.

I believe it was a Vartarrel, or Varterrel, or something like that. I'll just call it a Strider like the DA2 main page. Much easier to say.

It's varterral -- but strider is also technically correct, as it's the common name used by people who have seen one and don't have time to go look up the proper name in a book.

"The strider! It's attacking!"
"It's a varterral, you plebian."
"Whatever! It's got big damned legs and it's striding! Run!!"

Not sorry enough, evidently.

To stop me from asking? I don't think it would. I'm apologizing for possibly sounding mean, but I'm just unable to resolve this logically.

Considering that the sampling of Qunari you saw in Origins was hardly comprehensive, and that this is an art style change among many other changes, I don't think it should be that difficult to wrap one's head around. If it is... well, I certainly don't feel responsible for it. Posted Image
