I think the only species that has biotics genetically is the asari.

And Grunt as a genetically perfect krogan.

doesn't the game say that krogan used to get biotics by surgery later in life but they stopped doing that because of the morality rate and the genophage, so Grunt still is the perfect krogan, just doesn't have the options the others had

god knows what they mean by perfect, but i agree. The best krogan would be super 'ard and have biotics.

I did wonder about this - the overwhelming view we get from the Krogan in both games are that the top end of the krogan species tend to be biotic, to the extent where you virtually need to be one to rule a clan or army as a battlemaster.

Maybe fortification is like barrier? I dunno.

IMO, Grunt has surpassed biotics. His awesomeness is enough to cause enemies to throw themselves across the room.

You say it like you didn't have enough biotics in ME2, but I see your point.

grunt stares at enemies, and they throw themselves out of windows in fear.

I don't think biotics develop till later in life. Grunts barely an adult by krogan standards. If he stays in the squad it'd be cool to see him trying to control biotics while in a blood rage

I don't think being born a biotic is a naturally occurring thing. It certainly wasn't with humans, the first humans had to be manually exposed to element zero in utero, and even then it wasn;t certain that they'd develop biotic abilities.

If Grunt's DNA is as pure krogan as it's supposed to be, why would he be a biotic?

Maybe fortification is like barrier? I dunno.

That could easily be fixed by reading the single line description of the power; fortification fortifies Grunt's armour with non-Newtonian fluids. I believe that research is being done right now on using non-Newtonian fluids in ballistic vests. You can even try that at home (you'll need a bathtub full of potato soup though), and it will work regardless of whether you're a biotic.

what a weak power, so grunt can basically fill his armor with soup?? Lame.

sounds tasty though.

Biotics aren't consider common place. They might have a different definition of perfect krogan. Most likely involving qualities rather than straight forward abilities.

now what was said earlier. Biotics are not developed, you are born with them, or you are not.

Now even if your born with them if they aren't developed late ron you wont be any different than anyone else.

Also...

...why the f**k is he so guddamn short? They make him look massive in cutscenes, but when the cutscene of him climbing out of the tank and attacking Shepard concluded, the result was... really... truthfully... laughable.

he is a grunt... his scales have not even developed. his hump is also base on how much nutrients have been stored. He was in a tank fed what he needed to be perfect not to overexceed his size.

Give him time man... he is probably 15 in krogan years biologically.... well without counting the fact he was tank bred.

Grunt is partly collector technology so he is not a pure krogan.

As he is a teen (well kinda, being tank bred and all) he has a lot of growing up to do. He is not the perfect krogan yet, but he have the potential to become one of the strongest in time.

A more "perfect" krogan would be able to take down a thresher maw alone without the help of a weak little human, have biotics mostly for the lulz and be a krogan king. Young Grunt is not there yet, not by far.

I'm glad I didn't kill Wrex. If you did, well too bad for you.

My guess is Okeer didn't want to risk giving his masterpiece brain cancer for a chance of biotics.

Where was it stated he was augmented with collector tech? Collector tech was used in his creation, but never stated to be used in him.

The idea of "perfect" krogan presented in ME2 is similar to real world ideas of racial purity and supremacy. ME devs like to mess with our morality meter like that.

It seems likely to me that Okeer would want to pack as much power and strength into his perfect krogan as possible. Therefore, if he really was brilliant, you'd think he'd create Grunt with built-in biotic abilities, especially considering how highly biotics are regarded in krogan culture.

I always sort of assumed it was just an oversight that this never happened. They decided he was going to be a soldier class, and that's that. I'm sure you could think up a lot of excuses/explanations for Okeer in hindsight, though.
