i would refer to that dragon as the "High Dragon" not Andraste. because its not Andraste only the cultist belive it to be Andraste and well you probly killed all the cultists so theres no one left alive to refer to that dragon as Andraste.

the only thing left of Andraste is her ashes.

Ok , will Wynn & Lelianna fight "The high dragon" with me? Because to unlock reaver and get an acheivement for siding with the bad guys I poured the blood into the ashes and they turned on me and I had to kill them



So will their overly religious , dragon worshipping asses turn on me if I summon the dragon and try to kill it? Should I swap Morrigan & Zenran in for that fight?

Nevermind I did it and they didn't turn on me



Eventually me and Wynne somehow ended up dead and Allister and Lelianna had to finish it off from about 20% of its health left lol

to get the 3 rd armor you need to pay Wade 2 times when he does the normal and second one and he ll do the 3 rd for free , at least thats what they say in the prima guide and it s what i did and it worked i did nt tryed the dont pay him route so no idea if it works

The dragon scale armor is crap honestly, unless youre playing on nightmare the additional resist isnt necessary. The superior drake scale armor is decent. Otherwise, bleh.

Not really

I'm using it on Lelianna and well it looks nice and has dexterity , good defense , good fire resistance (Which I suppose could prove useful when mages use fireball ro whatever) , better than anything I could get for her within reasonable price range

I mean the drake kind anyway

the first one is crap yes but the other two versions are way better , i have Leliana wear parts of the superior and Alistair wear the massive version and it works like charm (my PC wears the armor Wade sells) , they should make more drake encounters in the game so when you get first 3 scales you get a crap one or maybe not so bad if you re starting the game untill you do the Urn of sacred ashes so you get better ones after that ,anyhow thats my thoughts

edit: @ Tonya777 oh yes it is, i see the blood dragon armor as a decent armor untill you get other sets that are hidden in game, none of my companions are wearing the blood dragon anymore

You can also hit the gong that's in the middle of the valley to summon the high dragon. You don't need the horn.

You're nuts. The massive version of the superior dragonscale is awesome, the fatigue regen and the fatigue cost reduction are great for a 2h/dual wield warrior.

The gong is used instead of the horn for console versions. There is no gong for PC players, and there is no horn for console players.

i had an issue where it used 5 drake scales to make just one set i had six total and am left with only 1 anyone know why it did this and how cld i get the other set?

I had Wade's drakescale armor and Wade's superior drakescale armor. I got them both for free. The superior drakescale armor gives 70% fire resistance plus the item set bonus. The drakescale armor gives 30% fire resistance plus item set bonus. Why did some of you have to pay for the armor?

In my first game, I didn't pay any gold for 2 sets of armor. In my current game, I payed for both.

But I think they are both the same, the extra gold I paid didn't make any difference.

No, paying is optional. I just read that paying Wade will give you even better quality armor if you pay him to do it. But I don't notice anything different, so I don't know how it works.

My first playthrough I killed every drake in the whole urn cave area and only ended up with three drake scales. The second time I came out with only one. I did loot all of the drakes I killed, they just didn't throw that many drakes at me for some reason. I even ran around the corners looking for trouble, hoping to find the missing scales.

You only need to pay for the second drakeskin armor (20 sovereign) to get the superior dragonbone armor. (Allegedly, it also works if you only commission one drakeskin armor and pay 10 sovereign to get the superior dragonbone, but then you only get the crap drakeskin set. Also, I haven't tried that myself yet to verify it.)



So, if you want 2 drakeskin and the superior dragonbone armor set (where the later really is superior to the normal version) do the following:

Hand over 3 drake scales without paying.

Hand over another 3 drake scales with paying 20 sovereign.

Hand over the dragon scale.



The waiting time between steps is easily spent by just going to the tavern and handing in a quest or so. I am not sure if simple zoning is enough. Might be just that.

Regardless of whether you think it is crap or not, the way it works in my experience is:



There are four possible suits of armor: Drakeskin Leather, Superior Drakeskin Leather, Dragonscale Plate, Superior Dragonscale Plate. Drakeskin Leather you get no matter what you do from the first turn in. Superior Drakeskin you get on the second turn in, no matter what.



The paying determines what you get for your Dragonscale. Regular if you didn't pay, Superior if you did. I don't know what happens if you only pay once...
