I heard that most people seem to have had the save corruption issue durring the shadow broker misson, however i finished that mission already.... i dont EVER want to lose my save so you think its okay to continue? I backed up one of the 2 saves on my PS3 Saved Data Utility the other one cant be copied... If i make 2 game saves if 1 corrupts can i use the other or are both terminated?

The shadow broker quest is when alot of people have been losing their character data, but there are a few reports of people losing them in other instances. I'd say back up your character data every few hours or so and you'll atleast not have to worry about losing ALL your character data.
I had two character files on my harddrive, one from before the cerberus pack finished downloading, and one from after, which was the character i had been focusing most of my energy on. I only lost the latter so as long as you keep backing up your character data you should be covered.

Some ppl had this trouble in other missions, its not only LoSB.
I ended my first playthrough without any trouble, not single crash during second (8h) but still, you'll never know when this thing happens.
About the saves, no matter how many saves you make, they're all connected to one character(file), so if one dies, the others die also.

I figured he was referring to actually backing up the character data on to another format. I personally have started saving my character data to a psp memory card every so often.
Presumably this should atleast allow for some recovery should the file on the ps3 hdd be corrupted.

Just a warning: the word from some who have tried is that you cannot use data backed up to a flash drive or other source to restore corrupted saves.
For some reason, careers remain un-openable after corruption, even if backup data is used.
This might just be a rumor ... but it was enough for me to turn off my PS3 and swear off ME2 until a patch comes out - despite having multiple backups of my saved game data. Just thought I'd share.

Yeah, I was about to post what SR3 said (at least about the word on backups, anyway) but they beat me to it.

Absolutely correct, after losing my first character, I started another, making backups - but to no avail, when corruption comes, no matter how many backups you've made, to different devices, it cannot be restored.
So for now at least, untill BioWare actually communicate with us officially (not a 3 paragraph post in a 4 page thread in a subforum) then I'd lay off the game, unless if it DOES happen you won't be too upset.
