I'm not sure if this is a problem with the forums as well but in group discussions slashes often used when listing directory paths or web links just randomly disappear from the posts.  At times they are there then the next time you look at the message they are gone.  As you can see by the example below it really makes a mess of things.

3) Open up the GFFEditor.exe (C:Program FilesDragon Agetools)

You mean backslashes - regular slashes are just fine.

Looks like there are a couple of bugs:

1) forums randomly doubling up on backslashes (like\\this\\)

2) group discussions "randomly" removing backslashes

Can you provide more info (or a link to the thread where you mentioned this previously? thanks.

Here is an SS before editing a group discussion post. (note that png files don't show buts thats a different issue)
The link box is there for the pic. Note the link is blacked out on pourpose.

And here is a SS after editing the post, the pic goes away and it shows the bbc code instead

In Beerfish's post, note that the "/" are missing in #3.

For the record, this happens to all BBCode in the discussion boards. It does work correctly as soon as you refresh the page again so it's not that anything's breaking, it's probably just not being re-parsed. As for the backslash doubling, that only happens during the compose -> post transformation (if I were to quote a backslash, in the form I would get the number of backslashes I see in the post, but when I submit and view my own post the number will have doubled).

It certainly does not fix it self with simple refresh for me. The back slashes in a file path I posted last eve went 'blink'! and they have not come back.

In group discussions, backslashes get escaped so \\\\\\\\ appears as \\\\, \\\\ is gone completely, \\\\\\\\\\\\ gives \\\\ and \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\ gives \\\\\\\\. However, if the discussion appears in the recent activity feed, the "hidden" slashes are there. If you quote a post with missing backslashes, they appear in the quote and disappear when posted. If you edit a post in place, it does not remove the \\\\ from the edited post until you refresh the page.

edit:   halve the above number of backslashes to get what i really posted.

er above = quarter them... the editing doubled them again =]

should read (replace the / with backslashes) :
In group discussions, backslashes get escaped so // appears as /, / is gone completely, /// gives / and //// gives //. However, if the discussion appears in the recent activity feed, the "hidden" slashes are there. If you quote a post with missing backslashes, they appear in the quote and disappear when posted. If you edit a post in place, it does not remove the / from the edited post until you refresh the page.
