The Rachni-hate thing really irks me, as I've saved them in every one of my 'main playthroughs'. I seriously wanted to go all Ender Wiggin on those Reapers.
I want to unleash my very own bugger swarm! This has gotta happen now!
R.I.P. awesome ME1 NPCs that never survive on the PS3...

Sure, except for the part where Paragon Shepard affects her so deeply that Blake becomes a social worker. On Omega.Jarek_Cousland wrote...
Yea, and she's kinda a pompous ass.Mercuriol wrote...
She had it coming. Letting a criminal go just because she says she'll do better doesn't omit her previous crimes. I always shoot her because she's resisting arrest.
I'm surprised her and Udina arnt Married.
Bad. Ass.
I still have some faith in Bioware on this, though. None of them can be really important in 3 (more's the pity), but I have a feeling we're going to see more cameos, particularly in the Big Damn Heroes bit where half the galaxy comes to repay Shepard and save humanity. Anyone want to bet Kirrahe helps "hold the line" in Earth orbit, frex?

True, but you could be a good person and still be an ass.
You could cure Cancer, and still be an ass.

It wasn't until I frequented these forums that I became aware of the fact that Gianna and Anoleis could die. At the hands of each other no less.
Wait, what? I had no idea...
Anyways, I just saw an article on IGN that said the PS3 version was superior to the other two and I thought, HECK NO. Coward of a writer didn't allow me to comment on that.
Apparently, because PS3 owners get all the DLC, it is superior to the Xbox and PC versions of the game (both of which I own). That's just bull. 70% of all DLC for the game comes free with the Cerberus Network and of the rest (Kasumi, Overlord, and LotSB, myriad of weapon and appearance packs) only LotSB is really necessary. Overlord and Kasumi were great but didn't add that much time or relevance to the game.
To me, that's a ****** poor reason to declare one version as superior, especially because he all but ignored the save game carryover and graphics.
I do pity PS3 gamers and can't wait for the fan made intro to the series. The comic is a joke since it is inaccurate, biased, and misleadingly poorly drawn.
However, hopefully PS3 gamers will find a way to edit their save games using Gibbed's save editor. At least then they can really experience all of the game's content.
As of right now, they only get most of it but with a drastic lack of context.

This is a horrible shame I -really- wanted to pick up the ps3 mass effect 2 but know that -no one- shows up its just going to make the game feel so empty =\\\\. Did you RMA your Xbox? Microsoft has been pretty good about replacing your Xbox (that's right replacing) and quickly.

I really hope bioware don't get lazy and not include those characters in ME3 for the people who have played ME1, just because of the PS3 release of ME2.
...I'm sensing some unnecessary gloom and doom here.
I'm not keen on Genesis either. I understand it's difficult to condense the first game's plot (and more importantly, UNIVERSE EXPOSITION) into a few minutes. Things will get cut.
But there are a lot of elements in ME2 that most players never see on their first playthrough. Things like...oh, say, the dialogue for the opposite-gender Shepard. Doesn't mean BioWare axed it for the rest of us. Somehow I doubt the devs will suddenly decide to axe everything from ME1 in ME3 and remove all the non plot-critical flags because of the release of one installment of the trilogy on one platform...a year delayed <_<

Yeah, all those emails just made ME2 more worth it.
If you want to look at it like some pessimistic ****** then yes.
So a person is a pessimistic ****** for not being wowed by a bunch of emails?
I think that person made the mistake of assuming that, because you were dogging the emails, you also doubted strongly the possibility of your choices affecting ME3. A small leap in logic.
As for the ****** thing, eh, it happens. Even the best of people slip up.

I read somewhere that the ME2 -> ME3 import will contain over a thousand decisions in it. That's huge considering the ME1 -> ME2 import only contained ~25. Ok...so we'll be seeing a lot of our decisions carried over, according to what Bioware claims, now. The question is just how are we going to see these. How is it going to play out? If the bulk of them are emails from character "x", or character "x's" name comes up in a conversation with someone else, then they'll be just as meaningless to me, as most of the decisions that I made that imported into ME2 do now.
"Big Decisions"...yeah...mkay. Remember all of the Bioware hype leading up to the release of ME2? How many of you bought into that? If you did, are you one of the ones here on the forum that has your hopes up that all of your "Big Decisions" will have a real meaningful impact in ME3? I don't. I didn't buy into it before, but tbh, I did expect a little more than what we got in ME2.
I did the math recently for why exactly ME2s plot wasn't affected by ME1 very much. What I came up with is that if you took a single decision from ME1 that had 3 possible outcomes then imported it to ME2 where you were again given 3 possible outcomes to an occurrence generated by your initial decision, the Bioware would have to create 27 different outcomes for the different permutations.
ME1->3 outcomes=ME2->9 outcomes=ME3-> 27 outcomes.
That's just way too much to expect from a company. Let alone the many decisions in ME2 (of which there were more than ME1).

That durned "interactive comic". So lame. Thanks to BioWare's "PS3 players won't care about ME1" philosophy, many awesome characters from ME1 are canonically dead in every PS3 game. Shiala! How stupid is it that my über-Paragon Shepard saved the Council and the Rachni Queen, but somehow put a bullet in Shiala's brain? How sad that PS3-ers will never know the facepalming awesomeness of Conrad Verner, or the coolness of Gianna Parasini. And Captain Kirrahe! "Heard he died on Virmire, not enough equipment". Dang it all. Rana Thanoptis and Helena Blake are also dead, dead, dead on the PS3, not that they are as great a loss to me, but still. So far I'm liking the PS3 version of ME2 quite a bit, but these missing characters has been a huge disappointment.
I think they should have generated a Paragon/Renegade rating for Shepard based on the choices in the interactive comic, then sprinkled in the surviving NPCs based on that score. If you do all the Paragon choices, you should see everybody. If you do all the Renegade choices, you shouldn't see anyone. If you do Paragade/Renegon, you should have some but not all of them. For instance, if you decide to kill the Rachni Queen, you should lose Gianna Parasini as well. And if you choose Udina over Anderson, maybe Shiala dies in that case. If you choose Liara over the human LI, maybe Shiala and Rana Thanoptis survive regardless of other choices, and maybe Captain Kirrahe's survival is keyed to the status of Wrex, a surviving Wrex would be a great help to Kirrahe's teams. But just to ditch them all for the sake of expediency or whatever, I think that was a mistake.
Yeah, it really does suck that by default, all those characters are dead. I think BW got lazy and didn't want to add on some extra content to the comic that let's you select which NPCs you let live or die. I couldn't careless about the e-mails that various NPCs that you don't see in ME2 send you but the ones that you can actually interact w/ they could've at least had some sort of text based comic that gives you background on the NPCs and let's you choose their fate. Oh, well, though. That's just BW being lazy.
