Yeah. I have no idea what ESPN was doing with that pose, but it does show off her bulk and definition.

Linda Hamilton is an actor, not an athlete.

Man, I didn't/couldn't find one as good as that. Where'd you find it? What search variables did you put in?

But yes, she's a bit bigger than the PC, maybe, but I think most of the difference is in definition. So you wouldn't really notice that big of a difference outside of sex scenes and Dalish leather armor.

Being able to choose to be a bit more defined would have been nice, or even a bit bigger--but considering it costs time and money to do that, I can see why they wouldn't. They didn't even have the art resources to give us decent looking armor other than the massive set.

Edit: And I only used Hamilton, 'cause Errant Knight did.

The biggest problem I have with the female PC is that the frame is the same as the male PC. While I wouldn't mind a Fable like altering of body shape based on strength and dextarity, I'm fine with the current single body type.

As for the image, I googled "gina corano ESPN." I've seen the cover previously as I worked with her once. She a MMA fighter.

Ah. Working with names is so unfair.

Anyway, just to prove my point, and that I have no life/anything better to do: all female humans have the same body, so I grabbed a shot of Morrigan wearing only slightly more than Gina.

Morrigan's arm when compared to the width of her face is roughly 70% of the same width just past the shoulder. Gina's is about 75%.

It came out to something like 28 pixels for the arm and 37 pixels for the face for Gina, and 38/54 for Morrigan.

And I kind of would mind the fable altering thing. The way it made female melee characters in Fable 2 look was terrible. They looked like Miss Universe, as opposed to Miss Corano up there, whom is damned attractive. Which isn't even conducive to battle. A body type like that isn't going to have the range of motion to fight anything well.

Same goes for my male characters in both games, for that matter. I eventually modded Fable 1 to have the same model regardless of strength and just change the textures as I got more fit, which ended up making my character look like a slightly thinner Bruce Lee.

I have question about lats. How do I gain bulk there; what weight exercise do I do? I feel I have comparatively tiny lats, but I can comfortably do 130 lbs on lateral pulldowns, about that lbs in rows. My body weight is 148 lbs, and my shoulder width is average not narrow. I want lats like that female poster's link.

As for female characters... If anything, dwarven female arms need a total revision. Increase width and decrease length.

Mlai00 - I've done a lot of deadlifting in the past (I currently have a niggly lower back so I'm giving it a rest for now - unfortunately these things creep up on you once you get past 40) and that built a fair amount of width, even though it's primarily a lower back/glute/ham exercise. Since it uses the whole body it's one of the more effective exercises to trigger growth hormone release.

I do a lot of dumbell rows using between 24kg and 30kg (66lb) dumbells.

I'm having to ease back on training a bit because I'm cutting, so I'm pretty much living off protein shakes and canned tuna. When I'm training purely for strength, I go as heavy as I can handle with good form.

The dwarvern female arms are pretty freakish. I do wonder how some of these character models actually got the OK.

Eh, they're dwarves. They gotta be ugly a little bit.

If I had to guess, I'd say it was a gameplay issue, actually, and the longer arms are to allow them to have the same striking range with melee weapons as the other two races without weird invisible blade physics getting involved.
