 So last night i finished my second play through for ME2 on Hardcore, Just fine tuning things for ME3. I have everyone loyal and Romanced Thane. On my Suicide mission Tali and Jack die. Tali was in the vents PLUS was in charge of the distraction team (Jack being in charge of nothing the whole mission)

Restarted the mission, I can't live through ME3 without them(among others) <3

This is how I assembled the team after i restarted the mission:

Vents: Tali

1st (Fire) Squad Leader: Miranda

Biotic Shield: Jack

2nd (Fire) Squad Leader/Distraction Team: Grunt

Escort: Thane

Final Team: Miranda & Jack

Grunt was the only one who dies, this Lead me to believe that among other things who dies also depends on stamina (before I restarted My Tali for example and my original Miranda was in charge of the 1st fire squad and the Biotic shield)

No One Left Behind achievement on my first playtrough... and every other playthrough. I can't metagame to get people killed. Or have Shep make dumb decisions and get people killed.

lol yeah I'm really just leaving the perfect play through for when I beat it on insanity, for now I'm just play to see how things can turn out differently (Can not advocate letting Miranda, Tali Jack or Samara dying though lol)

Tali, Thane, Jack, Mordin, Miranda and Garrus. Plus half the crew. Plus Samara died after the "suicide mission". Plus Grunt never left the tank.

Mordin died holding the line, then every suicide mission after that was either everyone lives or people of my choosing died

The first time I played i had Legion and Zaeed die.

no one dead on 3 play throughs yet, probably no one will die on my Engineer game.

No squad member has died in my multiple playthroughs. I lost half the crew on my very first playthrough due to doing an extra mission but after that have no lost any crew.

No, they die because of who you pick for squad leader. Grunt isn't a leader, he is pretty much Shepard's pet Krogan. You have to pick Garrus, Miranda, or Jacob.

1st: Legion and Crew (Mission came first)
2nd-7th: Nobody
8th: Jack and Jacob. Don't like them so they wont be in my game

Nobody died on my first walkthrough, not counting abducted crew.

The best ending I got on 3rd playthrough( discovered way to bring Legion on Tali loyalty and still have romance with Tali).

Polar case - John "complicated fate" Shepard (recent playthrough, Kasumi, Tali and Zaeed aren't recruited, Miranda and Legion aren't loyal, no ship shields upgraded)

Garrus died at debris field

Vents - Jacob (died)

Fire team 1 leader - Miranda

Biotic specialist - Miranda (swarms took Jack)

Escort - Mordin

Fire team 2 leader - Grunt (dead)

To boss: Miranda and Thane

Survived: Thane, Samara, Mordin

I think on my forst ever playthrough Thane died when the doors closed but 2nd time around I managed to save everyone the lineup I always use now is:

Vents:- Legion

Fire Team:-Garrus

Biotic Barrier:-Samara

Second Fire Team:-Garrus

Escort:-Mordin

Final Team:-Grunt and Samara

I used Miranda as my Biotic Barrier once as she fell through the door exhausted Grunt got taken by the seeker swarm ='(

I did my first playthrough spoiler free (never even visited this forum til after finishing the first time) Everyone lived, including all my crew. I did all my choices based on Roleplay considerations.

Tech: Tali
She was my romantic interest and I really thought I was sending her to be 'virmired' but in my heart I knew she was the best person for the job (in both size/skill) and couldn't take away her moment to shine. It killed me to make that decision, but thankfully didn't kill her.

Fire Team 1: Garrus
Next to Tali the person I trusted most. Also was a great leader on Omega, and got along with everyone. Even Miranda/Jack didn't complain.

My Team during Ventrun: Jack & Grunt
I was more concerned with saving Tali than my team's safety. These were the two I felt best suited to be a huge distraction and not need much assistance. I spent this segment using my vanguard powers to ricochet off Harbinger to get to the valve controls. Tensest segment of the game for me.

Escort: Jacob
I felt I needed a protector who would put the crew's well being over his own. Jacob seemed perfect for this role.

Distraction Team: Miranda
I took a chance on her for this. I felt I needed to show trust in her at least once in the game.

Final Battle: Tali & Garrus
My go-to team for two games. We took down Sarren together. We'd end things here together. It felt right.

I don't remember the exact set up. On my first playthrough of ME2 I lost Mordin holding the line and all but Chakwas (I think) of the crew. Oh and Zaeed was left to die on his loyalty mission.

First time through had Jack die since i foolishly believed Miranda that any biotic could make a shield, just goes to show don't trust cerebus peeps.

First time I played Mordin, Garrus and Tali died. It sucked, and I made sure to use a guide the next time lol
