I was wondering does anyone bother wearing Helmets? It just seems like a waste when you make a character and want to see them during cutscenes.

I usually use face-free headgear, for the same reason as stated. Helmet toggle or collapsible designs would have been great and maybe we'll see something like that in ME3.

It depends. I'm a helmet freak, but sometimes like it turned off. Just wish I could keep functionality either way, like the WoW helmet toggle.

No.

I only use the visor, see my avatar. The main complaint about the DLC armor was that there was no helmet toggle. Also, there are PC mods that give Shepard Miranda's the breather mask. So, it's safe to say they are not the most popular aspect of ME2 armor.

Only use the visor and sentry interface, depending on which class I am.

I have never used a helmet, ME1 & ME2 and wont use in ME3.

I use helmets sometimes but I support the collapsable helmet hotkey idea.
They add some certain... class and a whole sense of belonging, Shep really looks like a part of an actual military force with the N7

I don't just because I can't see shepards face during converstations

Hopefully in ME3 Shep will compensate for wearing a helmet by gesticulating more wildly whilst in coversation. Like an Italian.

Huh. Depends on the character I'm playing. Right now, I'm playing with someone who likes to be protected, so she uses it during missions, but not in the Citadel; she thinks it would be unnecessary.
But, most of the time they don't care about it and neither do I.

Not really.

In ME1 i did because you could toggle it off, while still retaining the buffs. Also, i think it toggled off in cut scenes. Regardless, in combat and on hostile worlds it was on.
In ME2 they completely removed the toggle function. NO idea why, it's one of the more puzzling design choices. SO, I never wear a helmet in ME2.

I use the Garrus visor you buy from the Elcor on Omega so I can have *some* buffs but I can still see my face. I *might* stick with one if there was a way to toggle it on on off. But most of them are BUTT UGLY. SEE: Kestrel helmet.

Nope.
Dont even use the partial visors anymore except for on my infiltrator.
The removal of the helmet toggle from ME to ME2 was one of the biggest oversights of the game. Shame really because some of the full suit armours would have looked really good if the helmet wasn't forced on. Unfortunate that I never worn them really.

Visor if it suits that Shepard's face; otherwise, no.

I just used the visor most of the time, if you count that as a helmet. Otherwise, I used some of the "one suit" armors in missions where you had to wear a helmet anyway, but that's it.
I'd prefer a helmet toggle. DA2 got one, so there's hope we'll get one in ME3 as well.

I use the visor with my canon Shepard. Other than that, no. I prefer to see my Shepards' faces during cutscenes.

No.
Sometimes the visor, just for looks.

Sometimes, though, when I made my perfect looking Shep, I almost never wore any helmets.

No. Hence the whole collapsible helmets rage when the game was released.

I'd like to wear helmets, especially for combat... but I don't because I want to see my Shep's face when he's talking. Toggle/collapsible helmet FTW!

I'm playing dead space 2 and I love how they applied the collapsible helmets, for me this is a quick (and simple) solution for this issue (also, if it is well made, it could be pretty badass)

Additionally, another reason I stopped using visors was clipping. Minor and a complicated glitch to fix I know. But it was still annoying at certain times.
On cutscenes having hair mould into and out of metal looks a bit silly. Its purely a visual thing and I know its very complicated with hair to get right. Im not faulting Bioware there. But again a toggle would stop your eye being drawn to it all the time (if you prefer).
