Does anyone bother with Helmets?

Sometimes I bother with the helmet. Case by case. I do like how the helmets can give stat boosts.

My Assault Sentinel wore the Recon Hood, as I wanted an extra boost for weapon damage. And since it's environmentally sealed, I can use it on worlds where a helmet is required.

My Shotgun Infiltrator (haven't fully made her yet) may use a Recon Hood because she doesn't want to be seen.

Had an Adept with the Death Mask once.

Engineer, used the Inferno Armor. Not entirely appealing, but since I did download it I may as well use it at least once.

Assassin Infiltrator used the visor once.

Did use the Cerberus Assault Armor once since I wanted to use it on a Vanguard Shepard.

Did use the Kestrel Armor (helmet included).

Going to use the Terminus Armor and Collector Armor on another Shepard. Mostly because I just want to use them once because I did download them and don't want to waste them.

For me, visor or nothing. It all depends.

Na, I like some of helmets and I don't need to admire my sheps face all the time or anything like that but I can't stand not being able to see the face in convo. So the only headgear I ever use is the visor

I've never used a helmet. Seeing some piece of body armor move slightly while my character talks in a tinny in-armor voice is a huge buzzkill.

The simple toggle helmet option of ME1 was good enough.

But anyone who never wears a helmet is missing out on some of the best armor designs I've seen in a game.

I couldn't agree more about the designs, but its still not very cinematic to see a talking mask. See Spiderman 1 where gobby talks to spiderman for a real understanding of how bad it can look.

I like the Recon-hood. I think Mass Effect 3 should go the Dragon Age route, with the helmet toggling off during cutscenes.

I wore it nearly all the time in ME1. Kept it on for combat, toggled it off on hub worlds (such as the Citadel and early Noveria).

Now I mainly just wear the ones that don't block Shep's face, since it's very silly for him to be walking around Afterlife or Illium while wearing a full helmet and you have to go back to the Normandy to swap them out. I have no idea why they got rid of the toggle - having to switch helmets back on the ship is the single worst part of the new armor system, imo.

I like having a helmet in fights, useally. I would love the toggle on///off option and more then 1 design of fully closed helmet.

never used a helmet and i never will. i didnt create such a handsome looking shepard to hide him behind a stupid mask. i rarely take tali because of that one simple reason, i cant see her face.

One of my Shepard's always wears her Recon hood, she'd wear it around the Normandy too if she could.

I love that hood. :)

Yes. And I miss helmet toggle. The one who thought running back and forth to the Normandy just to change helmets was a good idea needs to be fired. With the Cain.

I'm playing dead space 2 and I love how they applied the collapsible helmets, for me this is a quick (and simple) solution for this issue (also, if it is well made, it could be pretty badass)

Yes it is awesome.

Please, for ME3. Isaac is cool, but Shep needs to be cooler B)

I use helmets during the parts of the game where atmosphere is either toxic or non-existent. The BIGGEST pain in my opinion, isn't that there isn't a helmet toggle for me. The biggest nuisance is that I have to visit the captain's quarters every time I want to equip my helmets. Why can't the load-out screen that pops up before each mission also include the armor locker options?

I put a helmet on my vanguard once, but that was because I thought he might need it with all that charging he does.

Only use the visor and sentry interface, depending on which class I am.

This.

If helmets had a toggle I'd use them more.

Use the eyepiece or the half helmet since you can make out most of the face in it.

Unless I missed one, I guess I'm the first to say I always like to use the closed-off N7 helmet (the breather one)? I freaking love that thing, and goes great on one of my Soldiers.

Gets a little weird sometimes, and it's a bit of an immersion breaker when I have to worry about gasses on certain missions despite that thing being made to handle such conditions. But meh.

But yeah, love that thing. Always use it if I can excuse it on the character I'm playing.
