Besides, it was just awkward when my character would try kissing someone with that big, closed helmet on.

I don't like helmets in any games, I hate not being able to see my characters face, I feel like "why bother making your character look good just to cover it up?" But thats just me lol.
What? He doesn't look cool in the armor?
I love helmets. Good helmets that is....

Another crazy here then as I am exactly the same, I like to make my characters as beautiful as possible, so why cover their faces? I did the same in Dragon age and Oblivion. My characters always take alot of head damage................

yes, a very smart idea to not make collapsible helmets

It's different actually. They want squadmates to be in armor like Shepard, Garrus, Grunt, and to a lesser extent Zaeed. Putting on helmets on squadmates should just be optional with a toggle on Shepard and the squadmates just like in ME1. The only time it should be required should be in hostile enviroments.Felfenix wrote...
Anyone who doesn't wear a helmet shouldn't complain about squadmates not covering up enough. If you're not going to armor your head, don't bother wearing any armor at all.

Unless I missed one, I guess I'm the first to say I always like to use the closed-off N7 helmet (the breather one)? I freaking love that thing, and goes great on one of my Soldiers.
This. I love the N7 breather helmet and not seeing my Shep's face isn't really an issue for me. I know Shep is hot, she knows she's hot, her crew know she's hot (heh) and I can't really see a space marine fighting a war against space Cthulhu with no head protection
...so I guess that makes two of us. Ah well.
On the other hand, I'd love it even more if it were collapsible. So yeah.

I used helmets, but not all the time. Which is why I am in such high support for making one piece armor suits modular and support the return of the helmet toggle that was in ME1.
Never used helmet in ME2 for the only reason you can't see crap and can't switch them off just before a dialogue. Or when not needed.

Well, to stay on topic I like to use Kestrel, especially for Overlord.
I don't feel bothered by the covered face with so many playthoughs of the game already, and I don't have the Recon Hood. I also like the N7 Rebreather and the Death Hood.
Helmets that can move off of the face would be like chocolate icing on the cake.

There are probably only 2 or 3 of us on the boards, but I, too, am partial to the Kestrel helmet. I put it on most of my Shepards.

I'm sure this been said before, by many I do miss the helmet toggle!!! And yea the various cut-scenes would have been better with out the suddenly appearing Avenger or SMG. Removal of the helmet would have also helped too. . .
It's nice to see the dev team give it a bump in protection though. Which is the point of wearing a helmet in the first place. To protect the mellon since with out it, well the body isn't much use!
Still though I've done some playthoughs on ME 2 without it too. . . Did I mention I miss the toggle? *hint hint*
