I don't like helmets in any games, I hate not being able to see my characters face, I feel like "why bother making your character look good just to cover it up?" But thats just me lol.

For my first few ME2 games I wore the Terminus Armor all the way through because I liked how it reminded me of Boba Fett. Then I went ahead and designed my own character for the first time and I haven't really worn anything in the way of head accessories since.

Besides, it was just awkward when my character would try kissing someone with that big, closed helmet on.

Anyone who doesn't wear a helmet shouldn't complain about squadmates not covering up enough. If you're not going to armor your head, don't bother wearing any armor at all.

Yeah I wouldn't mind if the helmets would retract while having a conversation as having them on for the combat sections of the game is cool and make's your character a bit more badass but during conversation they are a bit of a eye sore. I usually play with a visor or with no headgear when playing as I don't like going back and forth to the ship just to be ready for a up coming fight. Also the the retractable helmet would be awesome for the dlc armour too as your stuck with the entire set when you put them on.

Another crazy here then as I am exactly the same, I like to make my characters as beautiful as possible, so why cover their faces? I did the same in Dragon age and Oblivion. My characters always take alot of head damage................

Yeah, a lack of helmet toggle is really lame, that's why I only used armour like Collector gear only on Insanity. I still don't get it why this feature was scrapped seeing that there was one in ME1 and noone has whined about it. Well, I guess we will see the return of helmet toggle in ME3 because adding it is one of the few things that everybody here wants.

yes, a very smart idea to not make collapsible helmets or add the toggle function.

It's different actually.  They want squadmates to be in armor like Shepard, Garrus, Grunt, and to a lesser extent Zaeed.  Putting on helmets on squadmates should just be optional with a toggle on Shepard and the squadmates just like in ME1.  The only time it should be required should be in hostile enviroments.

Unless I missed one, I guess I'm the first to say I always like to use the closed-off N7 helmet (the breather one)? I freaking love that thing, and goes great on one of my Soldiers.

This. I love the N7 breather helmet and not seeing my Shep's face isn't really an issue for me. I know Shep is hot, she knows she's hot, her crew know she's hot (heh) and I can't really see a space marine fighting a war against space Cthulhu with no head protection :) Especially when she's charging/headbutting Krogan.

...so I guess that makes two of us. Ah well.

On the other hand, I'd love it even more if it were collapsible. So yeah.

The game puts it on by itself on most places where needed, so not really, if only for the complete look.

I used helmets, but not all the time. Which is why I am in such high support for making one piece armor suits modular and support the return of the helmet toggle that was in ME1.

Never used helmet in ME2 for the only reason you can't see crap and can't switch them off just before a dialogue. Or when not needed.

Well, to stay on topic I like to use Kestrel, especially for Overlord.

I don't feel bothered by the covered face with so many playthoughs of the game already, and I don't have the Recon Hood. I also like the N7 Rebreather and the Death Hood.

Helmets that can move off of the face would be like chocolate icing on the cake.

There are probably only 2 or 3 of us on the boards, but I, too, am partial to the Kestrel helmet.  I put it on most of my Shepards.

Humm. . . I actually use the old N7 helmet on most of my play thoughs on ME 2.
I'm sure this been said before, by many I do miss the helmet toggle!!! And yea the various cut-scenes would have been better with out the suddenly appearing Avenger or SMG. Removal of the helmet would have also helped too. . .

It's nice to see the dev team give it a bump in protection though. Which is the point of wearing a helmet in the first place. To protect the mellon since with out it, well the body isn't much use! :P

Still though I've done some playthoughs on ME 2 without it too. . . Did I mention I miss the toggle? *hint hint* ;)

Nope. Actual shepard's facial emotions and real voice are way better than the blank stare of a helmet and a passable voice filter. They do look cool though.

I have to mention also, I don't use the same helmet on every character. For me it hurts diversity. Gives them each a different look and the bonuses are just nice to have no matter how minor.

Removal of helmet toggle was one of the ...steps backward going from me 1->me2.

We dealt with it.But yea, only cause we had to.Would love the toggle back.
