Most people have experienced spoilers.  Sometimes we care about them, sometimes we don't.  For the ones you did care about, which one do you remember feeling the most bitter about?

Please remember to mention the source of the spoiler before writing about the spoiler so that other don't get spoiled as well.

For me, Final Fantasy VII.

I unfortunately knew about Aeries' death in Final Fantasy VII long before the game was released in the USA(thanks a lot internet).

For movies the ending for Fight Club was ruined for me.

Stupid Rosie O'Donnell spoiled the ending for it on her show.  No, I wasn't watching her show but a news source reporting on it spoiled it for me.

the twist in The Sixth Sense. i'd been very good at avoiding reviews and previews and shutting my friends up when they started talking about the film. Then one day, i was reading the newspaper and they had a full-size back page feature on "movie posters if the spoiler was revealed in them." they had the classics of star Wars, Psycho, Citizen Kane, and one of them was The Sixth Sense.

It was a little disappointing that I'd worked so hard to avoid spoilers and here's a newspaper not a month later ruining the twist in a throwaway feature. i still enjoyed the movie a great deal, though.

I'm normally not bothered by spoilers. All because I know what will happen doesn't mean I know how it will happen. I don't actively seek out spoilers but I don't let them ruin a game or movie for me.

The only time it does bother me is when the entire thing is based on that spoiler. I also had Fight Club spoiled for me, as well as Sixth Sense. Really killed the point of the movies.

One of the UK's rubbishy daily tabloids revealing that Christopher Ecclestone was quitting as Dr Who at the end of the series after only one episode of the show's long-anticipated return had been broadcast. I can't remember exactly which paper did it, but I wasn't impressed.

On this site before the release of ME2 there were a few people who made alot of topics with the ending of ME2 as the topic titile, trying to spoil the game for people on purpose. Im sure a few people might remember this.

I once knew a guy who became rather upset when I told him the title of Star Wars Episode I was going to be The Phantom Menace. Not because the title was The Phantom Menace, which rightly upset many people, but because I told him what the title was. But the whole pre-prequel period was a good time on spoilers and how people reacted to them.

But there was also that video for Harry Potter that spoiled the book for me in the best possible fashion ever. It was great.

Having an ending spoiled is disappointing. I am usually fairly good at avoiding spoilers. I find it more disappointing when a twist of some sort is spoiled by it's own execution. For example Shutter Island.

This movie was so predictable that I figured out the ending from the theatrical trailer alone.  It was so poorly executed and obvious that the movie ended up being a total waste of time.

lol Mine was probably Fight Club too, but it was my own fault. The cousins were watching it and I was trying to sleep in the same room. Saw a bit of the beginning, half-dozed through most of the middle of the movie, gave up and started watching again at the end. Oops. Kind of ruins the whole movie when you see it like that.

As far as stupid spoilers? Back when Titanic was in theaters, my best friend and I were walking out of the movies while two kids were looking at the poster. She says "You know the ship sinks at the end." The kids were horrified that we had "spoiled" the ending for them. *facepalm*

Oh various movies i watch with a particular fiend of mine. She always forgets she has seen a movie and then remembers halfway through and decides to blurt out the ending. She spoiled the end twist of the movie Old Boy for me which did not please me.

I think I'm nearly alone in *loving* spoilers. I read the end of books before I read the beginning, because then I can read the whole thing looking for all the little clues and details that point at the end.

Yeah I remember that, I somehow just about managed to avoid reading them, I came damn close a couple of times. Then I bought the game and read the manual, the comic and figured I'd have a look at the artbook on the way home and there was the human reaper staring right at me.

A habit of mine is randomly exclaiming "oh, he dies at the end!" as a fake spoiler, mainly just to annoy people.  It's more luck than judgement that I've so far failed to actually spoil an ending since I'm ingorant of most story lines.  Well I'm just ignorant full stop, really.  Wibble.

My sister always used to read the Harry Potter books before me and tell me who died. I also saw the leaked ending to SCII HotS, but that was intentional.

Yeah, I thought they were lying, until my CE arrived and I too looked at the art book and seen the Human reaper, my own fault that time for looking at the art book before playing, I always do that though! Lol.

I remember when Fallout 3 was released, there was a spate of halfwits who thought it would be "hilarious" to do the same thing.  I think my sides split.  No doubt the same will happen to a greater or lesser extent with DA2, ME3, Skyrim ... and probably everything else, really.  At least until such a time that computer workstations are equipped as standard with a device that sends a million volts up the bottom of anyone behaving like a knob-end.

Edit: ME3.  Darn.

KotOR. Glanced through the stratagy guide and hit the wrong page. There went that plot twist. Still it was an awesome moment though.

Playing Baldur's Gate 2 before the first game spoiled me to the major plot twist in that game, but that one didn't hurt to much. I never felt cheated. And I wouldn't have picked up the first if I hadn't gotten 2.

Aerith's death also. Of course, I didn't play FFVII until like 3 years ago, so it was pretty much my own fault. I would totally have cried if I hadn't known about it ahead of time.

Metal Gear Solid 4. After my xbox exploded, I was considering buying a PS3, and MGS4 was out. I looked online to see some of the foorage from the game, and stumbled on the very surprising/revealing spoil-filled ending. I still enjoyed the game greatly, but... it just wasn't the same. :-(

Btw Bobobo, I saw that when it came out as well.... frankly, the starcraft storyline just didn't do it enough for me, so I didn't mind watching anyways. It's great, but doesn't blow me away. :-/

KOTOR:

your character's true identity.

Thief 2:

found out about the Sheriff's murder before it happened

I did both to myself by being too curious, so I don't deserve any sympathy.

LOL I just saw that art book a few weeks ago and I was wondering how many people it spoiled the game for.

Mass Effect 2 ending boss from the art book didn't affect me too much. Before I saw the book of Eli, one of my friends was telling another about the movie and spoiled the fact that he was blind. It didn't ruin the movie (I still enjoyed it), but I will always hate the fact it wasn't a 'reveal' to me.

Another one was the Protheans being the Collectors. I didn't read any spoilers and avoided any suspicious threads like the plague, but one bright spark decided to say "the Prothean-Collector thing" when talking about the spoilers, and that ruined it right there.
