You're expecting a patch from BioWare? That's cute.
But frankly, either be really patient or make peace with the little issues, as hotfixing and frequent patching isn't really the BioWare way.

But they have already made and submitted the patch....It only seems logical to expect a patch when they have explicitly said they have made one.

Most of us are assuming it's been submitted.

Optimism is much more pleasant.

Having played longer stretches of the game without any problem, I stumbled upon this glitch yesterday, having escaped an ambush on an enemy vessel... I was waiting for the load screen just to see what the Illusive Man might have to say and the game froze on the load screen.

So, even if you've played the game for long stretches without encountering the glitch, it can still happen in the future. For your own benefit, make sure you save and exit and return to the game every couple hours. I was only at about three and a half hours last night when my saves got zonked.

edit: either that, or the enemy ship's VI reached out from the video game world and hacked my PS3. Image IPB

its ridiculous. you release a game in beta stage and ask people who bought it for almost 70$ to test it.. your right in middle of action and the game freeze... hurray i've just paid 70$ to be a beta tester and report the game bug... i want a refound!

Mistakes can happen. Just be glad that Bioware is quickly responding to the issue :)

Hey Guy's Remember about 90% of the games that come out have bugs, glitches, ect.the reason is because these games have huge worlds and sometimes bugs get passed by the testing teams. Nothing is perfect guys. Personally I think Bioware is Doing a great Job at Fixing these issues and by addressing them as fast as they have. just hold on a few days I'm sure the patch will be here some time this week.Update.....My friend said he talked to a EA rep and they told him they already submitted the patch to Sony and don't have any further Info at this time. And I got Dead space 2 also and Dc Universe online But I really wanna play Mass Effect 2 in the worst way So heres hoping for the patch soon.Hurry up Sony lol.B)

You assume? So you believe it is fact? You do not work at bioware. Please dont come to the forums and tell us what they are doing to the game. Even if it is true no one told you.

Im not starting a fight, it is just a lot of misinformation being spread. It is very easy to just blame Sony, but no one knows if they even got it.

There's no harm in making a logical conclusion that Bioware has submitted the patch to Sony when Chris stated in his opening post that they expect it will be with Sony by Friday.

Calm down.

That is going to be great when the patch comes out. Right now I have been only playing for 2 hours at a time and then turning my PS3 off. It will also be nice to have faster load times because right now they are a little excessive. Why is it that games that are exclusive to the PS3 have hardly any load times but games that are multi-platform have super long load times?

Exactly, before Chris posted this topic, I was expecting this to take months, just cus I know how tedious and stubborn software debugging can be.  Plus some of the bioware people here have indicated that they consider our suggestions.  We really have nothing to complain about at this point.

Hi. I just want to warn you guys: the workaround DOES NOT work. I was playing for only about 30 minutes when my game froze and my save data got corrupted.

At least I had a back-up file, so I only lost a few hours of game. There are reports of people not being successful on using back-up files, though.

There are many workarounds for these bugs, none of them are 100%.  I can say for certain that they work to an extent though, as I had  part where the game was consistently freezing on me during the mission to recruit Mordin, but got around it with a work around.

Yes, The_Crazy_Hand.

The thing is, I also thought it was working well. I was doing that since Bioware told us to - they thought they had a very simple workaround, you play for a few hours and then turn-off your console, play with your dog, etc.

It still happened to me, anyway. So... I only intend to let people know that the corruption may happen anyway, even if you follow their recommendations. For me this workaround is like russian rolette.

Keep lots of backups!

Hoping for a patch is fine. Saying Bioware has made a patch and gave it to Sony, is not. There is no proof. I am not upset, nor do I have to calm down.

Although I am glad that Bioware is addressing the problem so fast, a problem this big should have never happened in the first place. Simple as that.
