There is a lesson to be learned here. Never pre-order games. Never buy a game at launch. Wait at least two months after launch for solid evidence (not from reviewers) that the game is bug-free or patched to be bug-free.

I violated my own rule with ME2 because 1) the game is old and only new to PS3, and 2) I love Bioware. Well, caveat emptor. I got burned.

yeah, i have a similar rule, but i wanted this game for the ps3 so much, so i picked it up, well short to say even though i got burned for it being hella buggy, its my mistake and i am going to live with it.

It been 8 days since the last response from Bioware... this is getting out of hands, not patch can take that amount of time seriously.

Patch has been sent, Sony is in the process of approving it.

Hey, does anyone know how long it usually takes for sony to do whatever it is they do and relese patches for games and such? I'm sure bioware must have submitted the patch to sony by now and I'd like an idea of how much longer I'll have to wait for this patch to be released.

There was no confirmation that BioWare actually had submitted patch to Sony. There was no information, update, anything.

I finished ME2 with no technical issues (apart from bad textures in Overlord). Knowing that data could get corrupted didn't help me to enjoy the game tho. Plus, i am not so eager to start my next playthrough. Loosing 30h of gameplay doesn't sound fun at all.

So I've been reading this thread from time to time and I've been wondering one simple thing since a few pages.

Don't you guys have anything else to do with your time other than complaining about the patch?

I'm waiting for the patch like every PS3 user out there. I'm afraid to play the game because of that corrupted data issue. But hey, I'm at least keeping myself busy by doing something else. I go out with my friends, I draw and on the PS3, I've been trying DC Universe Online. Stop complaining at BioWare, people. The patch is coming out soon. Do something else while you wait for it maybe?

You'll have plenty of months to play Mass Effect 2 before 3 comes out.

Ignorance is bliss!
Nobody here comes with an appetite for complaining.....
Other people including myself work on the weekdays and have no time...
Other may not have the money to even buy another game like u did with dc universe...
So before coming up here playing smart, better think what you are about to say....

- Don't go through too many level transitions in a single outing. Level transitions = anything that involves a loading screen. Basically you should reload after every mission/couple of missions, especially if you spend a lot of time triapsing about the Normandy.

-You don't necessarily need to restart the PS3 for this workaround. Just quit the game, wait a couple of seconds to be safe, and start the game up again.

- Back up your Saves every once in a while. Saving often doesn't help - backing up your saves do. Back up your save before you start the Shadow Broker mission.

-Wait for the patch!

Not all games.

Most games you can pre order and buy at lunch, especially shooters, Platformers and fighting games.

It's the WRPGS that seem to be glitchy.

Point taken.  Open world games sometimes have similar problems.  WRPGS are my gaming preference, which explains both my being a Bioware fan, and my extreme but fully justified caution.

Yeah, I was just kind of making an assumption because it's been a while since bioware's initial post and all. I'm afraid to get into the game on account of all the bugs and everthing, and It also bothers me that bioware hasn't said anything about all these issues for, like, a week now. Still, if you could make it through the game with no problem, then maybe i'll be okay, too. By the way thanks for answering my question or, well, sort of answering it, anyway.

You didn't get tired of playing it that many times in such a short period? I'm loving the game, but I can't imagine going through it all again after beating it.

The tips you people gave, comon I bought game for 60 $ so I wanna enjoy it. So Bioware, would you kindly inform us when we can expect patch ? In a few days, in a week, month or NEVER ?

Were you able to restore your saves?

No, I was unable to restore save, because it's corrupted. So I am waiting almost a week without playing, and I am afraid to try again.

Did you make backups of your saves is what I ws getting at. Many people have been able to restore their saves by using a backup.
