I was happy ME2 came out on PS3. The game itself as in the gameplay, music, characters, story, dialogue, missions, etc. are all excellent. I just hope they do something about the bugs and glitches because they seem to happen every time I play. A few I've had so far:

-Characters getting stuck and cant move

-Characters turning invisible (not from cloaking)

-Characters' dialogue getting cut off before they're finished talking

-AI teammates freezing and stop following commands

-Game itself freezing

-Characters walking/crouching in mid-air

-Shepard standing up while behind cover for no reason and thus getting gunned down

-Enemies stop spawning prematurely not allowing you to finish the mission (Grunt's loyalty mission)

-Getting shot while in cover

-Screen glitches and looks like an infrared scan (Firewalker mission after exiting the volcano lab)

-Dying in the loading screen (same mission)

-Camera turns but Shepard doesnt so the camera is facing one way and Shepard is facing another

-Directional controls becoming inverted in mid-mission (without changing the settings)

-Characters walking through each other

I know every game has bugs but this is a lot and it does take away from the game somewhat. Most of these bugs are temporarily fixed by resetting the game but that gets annoying. And I encountered these bugs through just 1 1/2 playthroughs. I hope they patch these bugs and spend more time getting them out for ME3.

Well, I guess it's time to add my name to the list of victims. 30 Hours of play time, multiple saves. About 2 weeks ago, started my ps3 after exiting ME2 normally and found all my saves corrupted. Now I get a 60$ box to look at while I wait for the patch. I really don't want to start a game until the fix is out since the workaround won't (didn't) work for me.

Kudos to Bioware for at least acknowledging the issue and getting a fix out.

That doesn't change the fact that this really sucks.

Hey just wanted to let developers know that i just bought the game about a week ago, I have noticed a few problems.  First of all  I have had alot of freezing in the game, I follow the directions of restarting game every couple of hours, problem still happens dont know why.  Secondly, Alot of audio sync corruption and dialogue getting cut off, I really would like to know what people are saying especially when it involves something important about a mission.  Another thing that is just annoying is the horrific load times, I mean it takes two minutes just to load a different part of the normandy, thats ridiculous, I would understand going to a planet or something but something you do alot,  come on.  Other than that the game is great, I really wanted to play this game but couldnt because it was only on 360.  If Bioware tech team can clean this game up and fix the problems that so many people are having and maybe do more beta testing before releasing a game instead people paying to be their testers and submitting their review.  Personally, I think Bioware should somehow give back to us that have had to deal with early release issues.  Such as maybe some free add-ons off of PSN or something.  They need to do something about this yeah releasing a patch should work but what about the people that have lost 30-50 hours of playtime due to "save corruption data".  I really hope someone from Bioware will read this and respond.  I am not trying to cause any conflict, Like I said I LOVE THIS GAME,  I just wish Bioware would do something for their loyal customers that bought the game.

Hi guys!

Just wanted to post here my stats so far. Last night i finished my second playtrough, on insanity. The first go took me about 26 hour to finish the game with all side missions and the second (insanity) about 10h.

I have a PS3 Slim (250Gb), ME2 PSN version.

About the corruption... Most time i played in one siting was something like 4 hours. I believe sometimes the save got corrupt just like this. I was playing, saved game, then that Sheppard stuck in a wall or a car happened, loaded the game, when i got to save mannualy again, all my saves are gone (creepy) but for some reason i could load the game before (resume), and save a new one...

So far, here is the problems i found.

- Partially corrupted saves?! (ok, i could resume, and the saves missing are those from that account, the other playtrough saves are just fine)

- Sheppard getting stuck in "things"

- Massive loadings (Normandy)

- Project overlord textures.

- NG+ (ok just started and finished insanity from scratch, NG+ without the weapons and armor is a pain in the ass. And YES, in X360 you start NG+ with those).

Hope this helps with something.

Really expected the patch to be here by now, my problem was just freezing not save corruption and I managed to get around that eventually. But I'd of thought a patch of this severity would of been released a long time ago. I know patchs may take a long time, but I'm also very aware some don't. Hope this is over with soon.

Well... one more customer with same problems. Here is it (basically the same problems of users ahead):

- Characters getting stuck and cant move

- Characters turning invisible (not from cloaking)

- Characters' dialogue getting cut off before they're finished talking

- Game itself freezing

- Shepard standing up while behind cover for no reason and thus getting gunned down

- Getting shot while in cover

- Camera turns but Shepard doesnt so the camera is facing one way and Shepard is facing another

- Characters walking through each other

- VERY MASSIVE LOADINGS!

Hope this helps with something too :)

I have a huge problem. My game ALWAYS freezes in Haestrom when I'm facing the 2 Geth Primes and the Geth Drones. I've tried reloading MANY times but it always freezes.

Also, on an earlier save, any time I'd load it up, Shepard would be falling through the map on the Citadel. So I had to load something before it and play to that point again.

Hate to pile on but the audio goes out from time to time on my game, too. This usually happens when on the galaxy map when you're traveling between systems and planets. And yes, the load times while going between floors in the Normandy are excessive. AI characters getting lost and not carrying out orders sometimes is another one. Sometimes, parts of the floor disappear and you can see through the floor.

I hope they spend as much time as they need cleaning up these bugs. I dont mind waiting awhile for a patch as long as they get rid of as many bugs as possible. Maybe they're just using us as the game testers to find bugs.

I describe all the problems that are encountered in the game.

- No sound synchronization

- Background music fades

- Phrases are cut at the end

- Shadows in the cut scenes are displayed through or on the other side objects

- Characters in cut-scenes disappear and are moved

- Characters after the end of the cut-scenes are stuck in their seats

- „Hammerhead” falls through objects

- The game is a very long time checks safe files (if there are many)

I hope that BioWare will hear and all glitches will be eliminated. Should be very carefully tested mass effect 3.

Gamer from Russia.

While the game when its working properly is great I have to wonder how crappy are Biowares testers to let this many bugs go by? This is starting to feel like a bethesda game.

"We’re currently testing the patch thoroughly, we expect to be finished our quality passes on Friday. This patch is then being delivered to Sony ASAP for verification and distribution"

Some people think the patch went to Sony 10 days ago. He didn't say that, he said he expected internal testing to be finished 10 days ago and then sent to Sony asap.

If an issue was found then it's possible it went to Sony a week late.

i really dont think that its so easy to notice the major bugs that everyone is talking about while testing the game. i mean just take a look at the bugs that lightstryker reported. i've played the game for nearly 40 hours and i havent experienced none of those bugs. the only thing until now is just some bad textures during overlord project, witch is something that i was already expecting since most site reviews talked about that and also the bad audio synch during gunn fights. in 40 hours only experienced these bugs i say its nothing to complain about and since others also never experienced any major bugs like corrupted saves or characters getting stuck i think its pretty normal that the testers also never noticed all that. when i play i only do a max of 2 missions and then i exit, or if i play for 2 hours straight i exit although once i played for 4 hours and nothing bad happened. also i dont connect to the EA servers and the auto-save is disabled witch i think is very important to be off, since the only time i got a corrupted save was on my PS2 and the game was doing an auto-save and i turned off the console and blew the save file. another thing is that when i save i dont move shepard and i wait until the save info disapears completly. i also backup my saves on a usb pen, this way if i got corrupted saves i only lose like 2 hours of game, i really dont get why people dont do this even after knowing of the save issue. the only thing boring is the load times in the normandy. today im gonna play the shadow broker mission since is one that many got game freeze. its funny though i have played other games that froze and with this one i was expecting that to happen since all the whinning from everyone but nothing like that. also i have the disc game, and i have a fat 160 ps3 witch is one of the consoles that didnt get the blackout last year because of the date march 1 when logging in PSN.

Sure, i don't mind...

But shouldn't someone at Bioware that is looking into the matter tell us that be that the case? 12 days have past without any info regarding the patch.

Bioware shows no respect for their costumers! I'm not saying the patch has to be ready now! but they could at least give us a daily update, I'm sure they have something to say at this point if the patch is really being "tested thoroughly". Seriously guys! it was the same with Dragon Age! If the patch isn't ready then fine! but at least tell us how much longer we will have to wait!

We were told that the PS3 version of this game…OUR version of this game, was going to be epic. And it is….just not for the right motives.

No game that’s made with the less amount of responsibility can be done like this. No game that goes trough beta testing can come up with this many bugs/glitches. No company that prices itself could ever release such a broken game. No company that takes 60 USD from your pocket can leave you hanging for so long without answers.

We where told that the gameplay of the PS3 version was going to be more polished…that the graphics were going to be better than de 360 version. We were told that our version would have a lot of DLC on disc and for free. We where told a lot of things. But they (you Bioware) didn’t say that the game was going to be unplayable.

No final version of a game could have this many bugs/glitches:

-Characters getting stuck and cant move

-Characters turning invisible (not from cloaking)

-Characters' dialogue getting cut off before they're finished talking

-AI teammates freezing and stop following commands

-Game itself freezing

-Characters walking/crouching in mid-air

-Shepard standing up while behind cover for no reason and thus getting gunned down

-Enemies stop spawning prematurely not allowing you to finish the mission (Grunt's loyalty mission)

-Getting shot while in cover

-Screen glitches and looks like an infrared scan (Firewalker mission after exiting the volcano lab)

-Dying in the loading screen (same mission)

-Camera turns but Shepard doesn’t so the camera is facing one way and Shepard is facing another

-Directional controls becoming inverted in mid-mission (without changing the settings)

-Characters walking through each other

You tried to take a bigger slice of the cake by releasing a game on another system.
Well…it went wrong.
You should do something, not to make Mass Effect 2 playable, but to convince US (paying customers) that Mass Effect 3 will be worthy.

Do something.
Fasten your seatbelts.
Grow some balls.

Now that's uncalled for. Bioware has been taking very good care of us, and they have quoted us a patch for the PS3. When you run a business, you have to stick by your quotes because if you don't, that will always be used against the business. Bioware has been very good at sticking by their quotes, so I have no doubt that they're working on getting the patch out. I know it's very easy to assume the worst, but let's give them the benefit of the doubt.

okay i see that some of you just copy/paste a list of bugs the same exact list, those people really had those bugs? im starting to have doubts about the legit of those complaints.

yes davidsilva, I had those bugs and more, but copy-paste them its just faster. Its a way of saving the pain of writing them yourself when you had the same exact gaiming experience.

The PS3 Mass Effect 2 SHOULDN'T BE RELEASED in it's current state, it gives a very bad name to the best game of 2010. Enough said. The only "definitive" about that version is that I want to break both the disk and the PS3 (although it's not the PS3's fault).

I went 35 hrs on my first playthrough beating the game. Didn't lock up but i did the workaround every r or so backing up my file. Of course i also had to stay away from the Shadow Broker questline also.

okay so, some people are having an enourmous amount of bugs , thats really bad luck, and with such an amazing and epic game (note that i didnt have till now any problem), its really sad that some people bought one of the best games ever but its broken. i wonder if its the disc to blame or the ps3 versions. because it may well be a compatiblity problem with such different versions of fat and slim ps3's
