The workaround works. Some of you are doing it wrong, which is why it's not working for you. Don't claim that the workaround doesn't work. You have no evidence of that.

The problem, of course, being that most people don't find out about the workaround until *after* they've lost their save.

I'm not denying that sucks... but the patch won't fix their corrupted saves either. Nothing will. Their only choice is to either start over from scratch or not.

I had a few freezes on my first time through the game, just around 3 or 4, but managed to get through the game without Saves being corrupted or deleted

When I did clock the game at which I've spent 40+hours doing the whole story and all the trimmings. When I tried loading up NG+ it gave me all DLC but didn’t give me anything I had earned from the first time. There is no work around at this and it's a major issue having started the NG+ around four times & each time the same result of getting nothing I’m entitled to and have played those 40+ hours for.

It's annoying as I really am hesitant to go through the game on NG+ with or without the patch or even play my old save unless I know its DEFINETLY going to be fixed, is the patch -If it ever does see the light of day- going to correct these high occurring problems? Are there anyways that Sony can let us know the status of the patch or do we sit on our hands till when either can be asked to distribute it?

I'm going to seriously question now whether I buy ME3, I'm not going to fooled twice by BioWare if it’s not corrected soon. Having a look it seems multiple issues has been reported and acknowledged but not one thing to get us all playing again.

To be fair, the NG+ glitch only prevents you from getting the armour and the weapons you got last time. You still get the experience bonus and the credits and minerals. So while it's bad, it's not as bad as you're saying.

I'd say Sony process patches pretty quickly. It surprises me that this patch has taken 2 weeks, which leads me to be a bit suspicious...it could well be that they are taking their time, but you never know...

I have only the standard armour and the most basic weapons so I have nothing to fight the enemies who are the same - level 30 - as me and have them shoot me while I lose a lot of health and can do hardly any damage. At least they could have put some sort of message out to new purchasers of the game who expect one thing and don’t get it, had someone told me that I wouldn’t be able to do NG+ or even save properly without having to stop-start the console every few hours (I haven't myself experienced that) I’d steered well clear till it were fixed.

Can I just ask have you experienced the glitch or glitches?

Of course I've experienced glitches in this game. I've had Shepard pop out of cover. I've had squad-mates disappear. I encountered a truly nasty glitch on the Kasumi mission where I was stuck to cover and couldn't move. All I could do is hope to die and try the battle again. I've had the rainbow glitch happen to me. I've had it freeze a couple of times, but it didn't have anything to do with level transitions and luckily my saves were okay. I had backups in any case.

I haven't had the corruption glitch (knock on wood), but I've been doing the workaround religiously, and before I even knew of the glitch I'd take a break after every mission. I've completed the game started a new one. I didn't do the NG+, but I did get the experience, credit and minerals bonus.

I've had problems with the game, but it's not only still playable, it's still hella fun. I was lucky not to get a truly defective copy of the game, but even so I could have switched it out for another. In other words I could have either whined and complained about it, and I would have been well in my rights to complain, or I could have tried to find away around the issues so I could keep playing. I chose the latter.

I don't expect to have no support when something goes wrong, which isn't my fault and could have been sorted a long time ago in the early stages.

I don't think anyone expects to have to go through what they're experiencing for the price paid and especially when it's meant to be "Fun" it detracts from the "Fun" that we have to wait on a basic correction from BioWare.

I'm not playing all brave and what I am definitely not playing is Mass Effect and I don't expect kudos because I suffer with the errors and martyr myself and my console. We all want to play this game and when it works clearly people enjoy it, it’s when we have to wait around for schoolboy errors to be sorted that everyone realises just how many problems there are, wouldn’t be surprised if they in fact have to sort out the varying problems with one patch.

I’ve seen you’re workaround and it applies to certain people but you shouldn’t have to save to USB and be importing-exporting after every mission, it’s tedious and it’s not what we expect.

Dude, if you think you HAVE to save to USB and import/export your saves after every mission, you either didn't read the work around, or you didn't understand it. Nobody, anywhere, ever, said that you have to do all that to avoid the corruption bug. If I had to do that, I wouldn't play. That would be unacceptable.

You are right you don't HAVE to backup your save after every mission/game break but that is the ONLY way to 100% ensure you don't get screwed over by this defective game. Simply taking a break after every mission and then restarting doesn't ensure your save data's protection as there have been people complaining about doing so and STILL falling prey to the corruption bug.

WalkerCyzicus- if there as been people that does the workaround and still fall prey to the corruption bug whats the problem? i just played now for two hours i exit the game i saved the file to a usb pen and im gonna eat. and if when i start the game again and play lets say for an hour and the game freezes and corrupts my save file i would have only lost that hour of gameplay, because, i had a backup on my usb pen. then i unistall mass effect from the ps3 install it again and copy my save file from the usb pen to the ps3 hard disk. and only lost that hour of gameplay whats the problem? for the last time, and im already sick and tired of reading the same nonsense, IF YOU DO THE WORKAROUND YOU WONT LOSE MUCH OF YOUR PROGRESS.
Now of course all of this shouldnt have to be done, the game shouldnt have this issue, but since there is this issue, and we really want to play it well then get your facts straight and you can enjoy the game, like im doing.

Reread my post please. The guy I was quoting said there was NO NEED to backup your savedata as the "work around" of simply taking a break then restarting was sufficient enough to prevent data loss. I was correcting him.

Rockpople and Davidsilva: Do you work for Bioware and/or EA?.

I just have to ask. I read all of your replies and its all "the game its fine" "worlaround this, workaround that", "the game its not broken, just a little glitchy".....

Everyone here is complaining about something, while saying this is a hell of a game, of course. But not you. You are all "everything its juuuuuust fine"."You got the corrupted savegame?" -your fault, you should have done the workaround. "You had that bug or that other one?" -well, I didnt had it in over a million hours of play time, so that must be just you....

Are you serious?.

Either you work for the company or you are indeed the perfect customer...

well you didnt understand what he meant, he said that nobody needs to export the save of the usb pen every other mission. because that would annoying. he did have backup saves, he mentioned it earlier. he was correcting the other guy that said the workaround implied that exporting the save in the pen. what he meant and what i meant is that the workaround is not only being off the ea servers and disabling the autosave, its also every now and then you exit the game and save your progress in the pen. by exiting the game and copying the save to the pen it takes only 90 seconds tops. so its no bother at all.

GJR84 and Walker, I'm not gonna bother getting personal with the likes of you. You obviously haven't read my posts. If you have, you would have seen me admit that I have been subject to many annoying glitches. The only differences is I don't let it ruin the experience of the game for me. I don't find it useful to come on forums and **** about problems that are a) getting fixed and B) have a useful work around. If you want to complain and whine, be my guest.

Again, Walker, read my post about the work around. In that post I said you should back up your save every once in a while. But saving/restarting the game DOESN'T mean you HAVE to back up a save from a USB, or re-install the game.

At this point you guys are just making **** up for the fun of it. You want to talk about facts, I'm here. You just want to complain and moan, you can do that too, but I won't be taking part. Have at it, hoss.

Yea its a simple procedure, that shouldn't have to take place.

People are still having corruption issues even though they only play for short periods of time. I'm saying that just because you do what Bioware said and restart every so often doesn't prevent you from becoming victim to the corruption glitch. You keep acting like its the panacea to this issue when the only true fix is for the patch to come through.

lol. Sit there and take what like a good boy? An awesome RPG from start to end? Sure thing! My game's not corrupted because I'm taking the correct steps to prevent that.

You seem intent on continuing to be ignorant on the issues here. Seems like you just want to kivtch and whine about stuff. But hey, I'm sure you look more and more cool the more you complain. Have at it, hoss! :D

GJR84 and Walker- you guys just come here for flamin and dont even understand what im saying and thats maybe because you guys dont read the post correctly. lets get to the point for the final time.

1-There is a HUGE problem with the game because some gamers have corrupted saves. first they didnt know about the problem and so they play and after the corrupted file they come research about it. of course they didnt know about this so its really ONLY TO BLAME BIOWARE for that. in those cases im all for the costumers that got surprised by that.

2- now what i've been trying to say is that for those that now about this problem and are afraid that they too can fall victims to the corrupted save, is that there is a workaround that DOESNT AVOIDS THE CORRUPTION, but instead prevents from you losing 40 hours of gameplay, and only makes you lose the progression since the last usb pen backup.

ARE YOU GUYS FINALLY UNDERSTANDING? yes its not good every 2 hours of gaming i have to exit the game and backup my save to the pen, and losing 90 seconds doing that. but hell, its better that then losing 40 hours and have to start the game from scratch.

Well if you guys think for a little you would realize that im only here trying to help people that still dont get the workaround. i havent experienced any frezzes and major bugs glitchs, so there isnt any reason for me to be here unless helping people, and this is the techincal support thread and since that bioware team is taking their sweet time and not responding to their costumers, it only leaves space for the comunity to help it self. that what Rockpopple and i im doing. so stop flamin i try to cooperate with us.

AND YES THE GAME IS EPIC AND DEFECTIVE AT THE SAME TIME. and since im a sheep and a really good costumer the game is only turning epic and not defective for me. karma maybe?
