Is that the famous rainbow glitch?.
I turned off the console and then went for it again....the problem solved itself. I only lost like 10 minutes of gameplay, but by now I feel so....afraid?, that I dont even want to look at the games case. I wont play this anymore untill patched. What a shame.

Yes. This bug seems to happen in games that use Unreal Engine 3. I remember reading reports on the 2K Forums that the same thing can happen in BioShock and BioShock 2. I've never seen this in person, though.GJR84 wrote...

After feedback from players, Guerilla Games hastily put together a patch to sort out connection issues which was available for download a day later.
How come an Open Beta can get a patch through Sony cert in a day or two, yet a serious issue in a retail game is still awaiting a patch 19 days after release? Either Bioware haven't submitted it to Sony yet, or Sony have a two tier patching approval process for 1st party and 3rd party games.
The silence from Bioware is deafening. How hard can it be to tell us whether it's with Sony or not yet?

Exactly, GG were able to patch a beta in such a small amount of time. Maybe Sony are focusing on their own games right now...but I'm seriously starting to believe the patch announcement was nothing more than damage control.terrordactyl1 wrote...
How is it that the Killzone Open Beta was released last Wednesday and received a patch 4 days later?

its not gonna be because of this that i will stop bying games from bioware. this is the first that i own for the ps3 developed by this team. and **** think about all those great games they made, like KOTOR Dragon Age and this master piece. i tell you there never been a game witch such depth in the charatcers, its like to get that you have to read a book. this guys are genius. but come on there are people that want to know that first hand and they cant.

Regarding the DLC...it's in poor taste even if 100% different people were working on it compared to the patch.

Those of you who are "scared to play your game" - if you own a usb flash drive, there's no reason to not be playing. Back up your game as often as you would like, and play without worry.

I've been playing through on insanity and I am at the planet where you recruit Tali. About half way through the mission the game hangs at pretty much the same spot. It's not the disc, and it's not the game data. Reinstalled the data and dlc. The disc is spotless. The console resets with 3 beeps indicating a software crash. This current playthrough has taken around 30 hours to get to this point and my only option at the moment is to go back to an earlier save and hope that it doesn't happen again. I'm assuming that it's something either in the option file or the save itself that is causing the game to hang. Wish me luck.

Luck be with you...and to me as well. With backup in place, I restarted my insanity run last night after losing my previous save file to the corruption issue.
After dealing with FO:3 and FO:NV...I feel like I can handle anything for a game of this quality. However, there is a bit of paranoia inherent to playing games with technical issues...and it won't go away (at least for me) no matter how many patches they release. BTW...I would purchase another Bioware game without hesitation. Bethesda on the other hand...
Hopefully the new DA will be clean and worry-free.

Thats just it, people have said that it doesn't always work, hence the reason why I'm not playing til the patch comes out. Thats just me though, I'm just cautious and I'd hate to lose my data and replay the game just for the sake of waiting.BLSmokey wrote...

From what I've seen, people saying the "workaround doesn't work" are referring to the workaround mentioned by Chris about playing in shorter increments and restarting. Who is saying the usb backups don't work and why wouldn't they?

-Fixed a crash related to memory fragmentation. This fix will also resolve the crashing that corrupted Save Games.
-Slightly improved load times and level streaming.
-Added some telemetry to better improve future titles.
-Updated some strings to fix spelling mistakes (Sorry Kaidan!)
-Fixed the picture frame in Shepard’s Cabin to accurately reflect your love interest choices in Mass Effect: Genesis.
-Fixed a rare crash in the PSN version in Shepard’s Cabin.
