Last night something happened to me while playing: I was entering the room with the map (CIC?) and the entire screen became green....but things where still recognizable. I mean....It was like the Matrix effect, you know?. But instead of numbers everything its green...and purple...and I think I saw some red in there too.

Is that the famous rainbow glitch?.

I turned off the console and then went for it again....the problem solved itself. I only lost like 10 minutes of gameplay, but by now I feel so....afraid?, that I dont even want to look at the games case. I wont play this anymore untill patched. What a shame.

Yes. This bug seems to happen in games that use Unreal Engine 3. I remember reading reports on the 2K Forums that the same thing can happen in BioShock and BioShock 2. I've never seen this in person, though.

Did they put out new patch? Because I still see Kaiden, instead of Liara, in picture frame.

Can we get a patch status please BioWare? EA? Or even Sony?
Seeing as this forum is moderated by EA & BW any chance of a much needed SitRep?

Thanks

How is it that the Killzone Open Beta was released last Wednesday and received a patch 4 days later?

After feedback from players, Guerilla Games hastily put together a patch to sort out connection issues which was available for download a day later.

How come an Open Beta can get a patch through Sony cert in a day or two, yet a serious issue in a retail game is still awaiting a patch 19 days after release? Either Bioware haven't submitted it to Sony yet, or Sony have a two tier patching approval process for 1st party and 3rd party games.

The silence from Bioware is deafening. How hard can it be to tell us whether it's with Sony or not yet?

Exactly, GG were able to patch a beta in such a small amount of time. Maybe Sony are focusing on their own games right now...but I'm seriously starting to believe the patch announcement was nothing more than damage control.

i say that nobody should buy any new DLC until they solve the patch. i mean i havent experienced any major problems but it seems like a slap in the face to everyone that asks for a patch and they respond with this- "hey its been two weeks and no patch so to cheer things up lets suck out 2 dollars for new clothes to your team". its pretty clear that they didnt send it to sony, because if so they would have said that so they could be out of the costumers Pull Field.
its not gonna be because of this that i will stop bying games from bioware. this is the first that i own for the ps3 developed by this team. and **** think about all those great games they made, like KOTOR Dragon Age and this master piece. i tell you there never been a game witch such depth in the charatcers, its like to get that you have to read a book. this guys are genius. but come on there are people that want to know that first hand and they cant.

Those of you who are "scared to play your game" - if you own a usb flash drive, there's no reason to not be playing. Back up your game as often as you would like, and play without worry.

Regarding the DLC...it's in poor taste even if 100% different people were working on it compared to the patch.

I've been playing through on insanity and I am at the planet where you recruit Tali. About half way through the mission the game hangs at pretty much the same spot. It's not the disc, and it's not the game data. Reinstalled the data and dlc. The disc is spotless. The console resets with 3 beeps indicating a software crash. This current playthrough has taken around 30 hours to get to this point and my only option at the moment is to go back to an earlier save and hope that it doesn't happen again. I'm assuming that it's something either in the option file or the save itself that is causing the game to hang. Wish me luck. :crying:

Luck be with you...and to me as well. With backup in place, I restarted my insanity run last night after losing my previous save file to the corruption issue.

After dealing with FO:3 and FO:NV...I feel like I can handle anything for a game of this quality. However, there is a bit of paranoia inherent to playing games with technical issues...and it won't go away (at least for me) no matter how many patches they release. BTW...I would purchase another Bioware game without hesitation. Bethesda on the other hand...

Hopefully the new DA will be clean and worry-free.

FIFA 11 is waiting for a patch since Oktober (the one they released was a fake patch), so i think EA is used to release patch after month... IF, after 3 month no patch was released for FIFA 11, i can assume that for ME2, we have to wait till April. :)

I just wish Chris would at least post something I mean he did start thread. I don't think they make you sign a n.d.a(non-disclosure agreement) when you submit a patch for certification. funny if they did though.

Thats just it, people have said that it doesn't always work, hence the reason why I'm not playing til the patch comes out. Thats just me though, I'm just cautious and I'd hate to lose my data and replay the game just for the sake of waiting.

From what I've seen, people saying the "workaround doesn't work" are referring to the workaround mentioned by Chris about playing in shorter increments and restarting. Who is saying the usb backups don't work and why wouldn't they?

Sorry, but we don't really have anything as an update. The patch is sitting with Sony and we are waiting for them to approve it. As soon as it is availabel, we will let everyone know.

okay thanks. chris. but it makes me wonder if sony sent a patch of the beta of killzone 3 in so short time, whats the reason for taking so long for them to approve it?

Thank you Chris, it's just nice to be out of limbo as we can see that yourselves have had to wait for Sony to sort it out. Greatly appreciate all of your hard work, it's just a shame it's taking too long.

*Taken from the first post*

-Fixed a crash related to memory fragmentation. This fix will also resolve the crashing that corrupted Save Games.
-Slightly improved load times and level streaming.
-Added some telemetry to better improve future titles.
-Updated some strings to fix spelling mistakes (Sorry Kaidan!)
-Fixed the picture frame in Shepard’s Cabin to accurately reflect your love interest choices in Mass Effect: Genesis.
-Fixed a rare crash in the PSN version in Shepard’s Cabin.
