Everyone from Bioware, thank you very much for the quick replies to this, it is refreshing to see a company actually communicate with the players. One quick question, if we had a save corrupted(which I did), is this patch or future patches in any way going to allow me to "uncorrupt" that save?

Thanks again

I've experienced some freezing but excellent work getting on top of a patch to fix the corrupt save file. At least I won't have to be worrying about it happening once the patch is released.

1 Question: Will we have to start a new game for the patch to take effect?

another note, do you know if there is ANY possibility that our corrupted
data can be restored? Or is it just a case of starting over and hoping
it doesn't happen again?

We're still investigating this
but it looks unlikely as the data is lost by an incomplete write action
when the game runs out of allocatable blocks large enough.

So chances are, probably not, but they are at least looking into the possibility.

I hate to say "I told you so" but... I did.

Good news to hear though, Chris, especially about the load time streamlines and love interest photo fix (no offense Kaidan!)

I do not have the game yet, (ts on its way, pre-ordered it a couple weeks ago! B)) But I would like to thank the Bioware team for working vigilantly on providing both a patch and communicating with the fan base. As a recent Bioware fan (sort of I just lamented not being able to play Mass Effect for a couple years ) I bought ME 1 on Steam after the ME2 announcement, suffered (for me) through keyboard and mouse controls (until finally connecting a controller) and am official a Mass Effect fanboy, (mmm Liara )

Quick question, I know it has been asked many times, but do you know if it is possible to someday be able to use your ME 1 PC save on ME 2 PS3?

Thanks again.

It is not possible to transfer PC saves into PS3... The Comic included let's you do all the major choices that carries over to mass effect 2... You need not worry :) You can still have Liara!

Thanks for the notes!

I thought the corruption had been traced to some of the DLC (Shadow Broker and Overlord). Do the corruption fixes mentioned in the notes apply to these?

There is mention of a specific crash in Shep's cabin but not regarding the DLC crash/corruption?

Thanks for the update!

I havent gotten ME2 yet for the PS3 but getting it Tuesday. When u say the comic book lets u make all major choices does that mean i can select the major options i did in ME1. Like saving the council or no?

will I be able to play through Shadow Broker without wondering if it's gonna crash ? after this patch of course :)

seems like this is the 'hot spot' for game corruption. Was it checked? was it fixed?

@ Panzner, yes. And 4 other major choices.

Hi, now although I think it is really great you guys came up so soon with a patch... it kinda does not fix all the bugs reported...

In order to have the advertised cinematic expierience there are some other pressing issues:

- audio out of sync

- graphics errors

- shepard dissapearing in conversations

- numerous bug in the overlord DLC (grass textures)

Will the above be adressed in any coming patch?

I already played the game on PC, but I would like to buy the game for PS3, just to play it on HDTV (I do not have a HDMI output on my PC), and my pals all are kinda disappointed with those technical issues during the cut scenes...

It would be great if you guys utilized a news crawl to get this info out to everyone since the game pretty much forces you to log into EA servers every time you turn the game on anyway. All of my saves just got corrupted and I'm pretty much done with this game now. I don't get to pick up a lot of games each year and this one turned out to be a complete waste. Thanks.

Thanks i don't like the idea of having a full human council like my roomate was forced to on his 360 cause his ME1 new game+ wasnt fully done when he had gotten the 2nd game on his 360.

It's not going for certification until Friday...so it won't be available for at least a week yet.

-Fixed a crash related to memory fragmentation. This fix will also resolve the crashing that corrupted Save Games.

And WE told YOU, so no need to gloat, and this confirms the problem existed.
So "just" because you have not "seen" something doesn't mean it's not there.

Time to register the PS3 game to my BioWare account also (just "saw" thats up)
