Guys, I'm surprised as much as Kondorr is - Bioware should bother more about the most basic problems instead of some - still can't believe this - lover's photo in captain's cabin...

I'm really concerned about the patch right now - I really would like to play the game the same way I play the other ones - can you imagine to play Heavy Rain or other story driven game (or any game at all!!) with sound being out of sync in every cut scene?

Bioware - can you please give your opinion about this issue? I would like at least to know if the problem is planned to be fixed at all. If not I'll try to live with this, or just leave the game and will wait for ME3, hoping it'll lack the issues its predecessor has at the moment.

The patch is fixing a lot more than just the picture. And if the sound is out of sync in every single cutscene for you, than either your copy of the game is messed up or something is up with your console.

I've read about the upcoming patch for the game but unfortunately it doesn't fix all the main bugs. The bugs and problems that are fixed are the save corruption bug (really important bug) and the long loading times. Unfortunately the following bugs will remain:

-On the Overlord map where you control the Hammerhead, there are huge ugly pixels on the grassy ground.

-On the Overlord map where you control the Hammerhead, sometimes the Hammerhead goes through the ground.

-Sometimes the audio is out of sync.

-Sometimes Shepard is left floating in mid-air unable to move. The only solution is to load a previous save.

Please Bioware continue fixing the game because it is a pity such a magnificent game to have these bugs.

I personally have not encountered any sync issues as far as sound.

On the other hand, I have had multiple times where the sound cuts out completely and all I get is an annoying white noise until I quit out of the game and restart it. This was worst during the IFF mission.

I checked two versions of the game already. And no problem with my console as well - other games are fine and also checked the audio problem (which is very common problem lately - check Google) on YouTube. The movies with audio delay you can see there looks completely the same (in terms of out-of-sync) as on my console, so it's definitely something with the code which de-sync's the cut scenes on PS3.

While there's no problem for me to fly over the low res pixels background during the Overlord mission, I think the out-of-sync audio is a massive issue which should be fixed immediately.

The photo fix was probably a simple thing a dev could sort out in 5 minutes, which is why it might have been bundled in with the first freeze/save game patch....

....maybe issues like the sound and ng+ are more complex to resolve, some folks have said that the sound issue sometimes happens on the xbox too - so either they can't fix it, or it's fundamentally buried in the core code and can't be fixed easily.

It might never be fixed, there are still issues in Awakening that never got fixed and never will.

Thanks for the heads up regarding the NG+ issue gentelmen. I take it that it's just the weapons that are effected, not the exp level or resources? That's not so bad, I have that Bioware will get round to addressing the problem eventually.

wonder if Sony has to test it?

i don't think they test the fixes within the game. The Sony certification process is just to make sure it doesn't break the PS3, xmb, firmware or anything else already installed on the PS3 etc.

I suspect that since the patch deals with a problem related to data corruption they'd be more thorough than usual. If the glitch is causing the corruption of data on the console then I suspect they'd really want to make sure that it doesn't cause more widespread corruption,

Basically, because it affects some funtions of the system itself (save corruption) rather than gameplay I think Sony would be more careful in testing this patch than they would in testing a purely gameplay patch.

It's Bioware's job to verify the patch is working on their game. It's Sony's job to verify the validity of the file and upload to the servers and such. You can't expect Sony to playthrough the game or anything to test whether the corruption still occurs, thats what the developer is there to do.

right in the first cutscene in freedoms progress when appears the big mech there is audio out of synch and since i read that in cutscenes with gun fights that could happen, i though that throughout the game this issue would come up. and it did with some cutscenes but with others it didnt, and about 55hours in game i think the audio out of synch is happens less and less. also one time i had to repeat a section and the cutscene in the first time it had audio out of synch and the second time it was in perfect synch. so if this happens i think it is much more difficult to identify why the audio is out of synch.

i work in a cinema and if the sound was out of sync in the film, they get their money back for the technical fault

eheh its really a techincal fault that shouldnt be in a game like this. i mean seriuosly think about this, Assassins Creed 2 sold 8 million copies, and since some bought at a lower price and some bought it at a high price like in europe its for 70e, lets make an average price per unit of 50 dollars. it means that they made 400 million dollars with the game and since the big games have a top bugdet of around 25 million, i think that the profit is so big that it shouldnt be audio problems in such big games. i mean look at the numbers the profit rate is way higher then even the big blockbuster movies

Sorry, but we don't really have anything as an update. The patch is sitting with Sony and we are waiting for them to approve it. As soon as it is availabel, we will let everyone know.

The fact that its 'sitting with Sony' doesn't mean that you can ignore this forum and our messages completely, even Jack Lamden got sick of all the complaining and tried to quell our fears a little, and he isn't the supposed COMMUNITY MANAGER Chris.

Where do the audio sync's take place?

I have not done Overlord yet so I am unsure the problems with it.

Is it best to wait to play the shadow broker till the pacth is released, I heard thats where the problems start to come from?

thats debatable, since for me the shadow broker runs very smoothly i even didnt get audio delay, it was everything in perfect synch. its a very good mission better then most, but there are some people that had problems during that mission, like freezing. so if your gonna do it, before you better backup your progress in a usb pen and also have multple saves so that if it freezes you can go back, since there was one person that said that every time he did the mission the game froze in the same place of a cutscene. so play at your own risk and you might get lucky like me and enjoy the ride, literally since theres a car chase.

For me the audio out-of-sync takes place pretty much during every cut scene, especially those with the gunfire. Even when the shuttle lands on the scanned planet, it's engine's throw fire and there's a sound of it after one-two seconds.

I would put Shadow Broker mission on hold, hannibalizer0 - there's a couple of great action scenes in there and everything I watched has been out of sync. You can imagine how I felt while watching it... Wanted to throw the game through the window... but decided to wait patiently to see how the things will be.

The most surprising thing is I checked one cut scene maybe four times and the audio lag happens in the same place, the same way... It's like the testers didn't see it? Yeah, right....

I've read the patch notes in the first post but is it really certain that this is all that's being fixed in the first patch? Nothing about New Game+ issues or any of the other problems other players have been having? I only ask because it took forever to even get an update about what's going on so I could only assume that maybe it was still being worked on. I don't really see any hope of another patch after this or at least in anytime soon.

I just don't understand why it is taking this long to be approved through Sony. It's like waiting at the DMV.

To be honest, I don't even know if there's anything for me to wait for. I was lucky to avoid any saves problems and the only issue I have is the New Game start without any weapons transfer and the audio lag. While I can live without the weapons (still, would be great to have them with me at the beginning of the N+ game though), I can't focus on the game without the audio fix. The way I see it though I don't expect this to be fixed anytime soon (if at all) and wondering what am I gonna do now.

Exactly. At least someone else here gets that. If I were Bioware, I'd have a serious talk with this  "evil' Chris person.

Anyone check the name of the person asking for us to vote for BAFTAs?

How on earth can they be asking that when they can't even sort the game out for a few people?

And these are major problems...

To answer your question - yes. Just the weapons and armor are effected. I believe your experience level is affected too, I'm not sure. I do know you still get your DLC weapons, the resource and credits bonus and you get the experience bonus.
