Anyone check the name of the person asking for us to vote for BAFTAs?
How on earth can they be asking that when they can't even sort the game out for a few people?
And these are major problems...

yeah thanks for the heads up, i just voted, and for red  dead redemption of course

I did as well. That was a unique experience to say the least.

ME2 remains on the outskirts with a grade of "incomplete" at this point.

I voted for Red Dead Redemption.
Guess I'm taking this whole save corruption data a little personal.
And I don't know why but I feel that BioWare is still to blame as much as Sony.

Thanks for the heads up regarding the NG+ issue gentelmen. I take it that it's just the weapons that are effected, not the exp level or resources? That's not so bad, I have that Bioware will get round to addressing the problem eventually.

To answer your question - yes. Just the weapons and armor are effected. I believe your experience level is affected too, I'm not sure. I do know you still get your DLC weapons, the resource and credits bonus and you get the experience bonus.

I'm doing a new game + and so far what I lost was the weapons and armor.  However I started at level 29 and was able to choose a power to assign to Shepard, and maintain the upgraded powers, and have the bonus money/resources.  It kind of sucks but there are more pressing issues that they need to deal with before they get to this.
One funny thing I saw was that my fuel level was 1500/1000 and probe levels 60/30.  I'm not sure if the game is suppose to let you keep the fuel and probe ugrades to the Normandy or if it's suppose to reset.  Once I used the fuel and probes it stays at the starting level for each until you upgrade them again.

Anyone know if the Miranda vs Jack conversation is a bug? it seems that your bound to loose loyalty of either one, and that the paragorn/renegade options are greyed out....

I lost the loyalty of miranda, and talking to her afterwards, you have paragorn/renegade choices to win her over, yet they too are greyed out.

Read in the xbox forum that this was a problem, some meant u needed the paragorn/renegade points from ur imported Sheperd from ME1....but we dont have that luxury....

Same here. And thats a bug. Just think about it. You get the +fuel and +drones as upgrades for the Normandy. Those come from recruiting your team members. If you start a new game, you shouldnt have them.

Im eager to see some update about the actual content of the patch though. I mean, if this just fixes the gamesaves and freezes, thats a whole lot to be happy about, but not even close to what needs to be fixed.
The audio sync and the shepards getting stuck on furniture its yet another big issue. Not to mention the stupid NG+ thing. (cmon...no beta tester finished the game???. Cause that happens to ALL of us....and to see that you just have to finish the game. Is not rocket science).

I managed to succesfully use the Paragon option. Are you sure you have high enough Paragon/Renegade score? Im still not exactly sure how the system works in the ME2 0_o

Maybe not during the argument, but afterwards, i think im at 70% paragorn, but still cant unlock the choice...read somewhere that you actually have to do Jack's loyalty mission before Mirandas.

Also, ive read that if one waits too long before you do the loyalty missions, you might not get them loyal (cant confirm this though)...read cases where people went paragorn on Zaeed's mission, and couldtn gain his loyalty....

Im on my second playthru now, renegade style....will know tonight if it'll work for me, should have enough renegade points as im saving Jack's mission last (yes, should have done hers first, but did not know at the time).

alert possible spoilers only read if you finished the game- i went on the suicide mission and only jack wasnt loyal because of the argument with miranda and since i didnt get the choice to break up the fight with a paragon renegade choice she died in the last mission. i think it was because of that. theres a cutscene where she says to shepard to hurry up and then when i defeat the last boss theres a cutscne where she is dead and i dont get why is that? the only reason must be because she wasnt loyal right?

well outside from that i didnt get any freeze throught the game and no save corruption no major bugs that spoiled the action, only thing was some audio out of synch, but in the cutscenes since you crossed the omega 4 relay the audio was in perfect synch. the main theme song is fu**** epic especially during the last fights,

SPOLIERS- i've done some research and it seems that the last choice of picking members for your squad and leaving the others defending as an impact of the defense points that they have. strange thing is that i dont know were to see that. and the group that defends has to be an average of 2 defensive points, and since i sent zaeed to escort back the crew members and he was one of the top point defensive and jack was one of the lowest and non loyal she died because of that. i was actually expecting some hard choices to keep them all alive, but i never imagined that it would come down to a mathemetic solution, it really blows for me cause i was like enjoying so much the end but i didnt get why jack died, even if shes not loyal she could have survived. damm

i'll say again the music at final stages was fu***** epic it made the batlle much more intensive.

wonder if Sony has to test it?

i don't think they test the fixes within the game. The Sony certification process is just to make sure it doesn't break the PS3, xmb, firmware or anything else already installed on the PS3 etc.

I suspect that since the patch deals with a problem related to data corruption they'd be more thorough than usual. If the glitch is causing the corruption of data on the console then I suspect they'd really want to make sure that it doesn't cause more widespread corruption,

Basically, because it affects some funtions of the system itself (save corruption) rather than gameplay I think Sony would be more careful in testing this patch than they would in testing a purely gameplay patch.

It's Bioware's job to verify the patch is working on their game. It's Sony's job to verify the validity of the file and upload to the servers and such. You can't expect Sony to playthrough the game or anything to test whether the corruption still occurs, thats what the developer is there to do.

Yes but I do expect Sony to be extremely thorough regarding the corruption of data on their console. Imagine if even 1/100 times the patch caused the loss of other games save data, or the corruption of system settings or game data. Because the patch deals with corrupt data Sony will be far more thorough than if the patch only dealt with gameplay.

You can't seriously expect Sony to release a patch with the potentual to damage someone's system without testing it as much as they can.

Yep i've played Red Dead, but to be honest i started finding the game far too repetitive. After a while of arriving in mexico i just rushed through the game because i wanted to make sure i completed it being as i'd got so far into it.
Im not saying it was a bad game because it wasn,t but for me i just got really bored with the missions.
But obviously peoples opinions are different, for instance i really enjoyed Final Fantasy 13 but i can garantee that there's people who hated it on this site.

about final fantasy i was really enjoying the story and the batlle mechanics were great, not to mention the graphics but then they released god of war 3 and red dead and by the time i finshed i just didnt care much for playing finla fantasy. i think a game its like an addiction, you really wanna to play through the game till the end if you like it, but if you stop for a few weeks or months theres really not much motivation to pick it up again, its really like dropping smoking or something.

but since its a mass effect 2 thread just one last though, i really wish for people to get the patch and enjoy the ride because since i didnt get any problem i just enjoyed so much and its pretty damn sad to see some people bash out the game because they got screwed over the corruption issue.
oh and by the way is dragon age in the same line of mass effect like choices and characters driven like? because i know the game is great but never played it and people talked about bug issues and patches that never got released in dragon age, how bad that effects the overall game?

First of all i completely agree with you, the patch needs to be released so people can enjoy this superb game, it doesnt deserved to be bashed and put down by some bugs and glitches.

secondly dude, yes Dragon Age is in the same line as Mass Effect, you make choices, you have multiple love interests and your choices affect final outcomes. If you like Mass Effect then i dont see why you shouldn't like Dragon Age because it's basically Mass Effect but with a medieval/fantasy theme.

I am mainly waiting for the minor bugs to get fixed. The only problem i had with sound was the dialogue being cut off at the end but over all the cinematic scenes were of the most part working great.

Agreed. I also voted for ME2. I have Red Dead Redemption and I love the game to bits, but I played it twice and I haven't touched it since, but I've played ME2 about 4 times now and I'm ready for more. The story is good, but the gameplay is where it really shines. So much variety. And what a poster said above about the music near the end is exactly right.

It really is a shame about all the bugs, though.

Oh and Dragon Age is awesome. If you haven't played DA:O yet, I highly recommend it. Dragon Age II is coming out soon, so you'll be in RPG overload by then.
