I understand that, but explain why Sony accepted a patch for the Killzone 3 multiplayer open beta and released it in like 2 - 3 days. If Bioware submitted there patch on the timeline that they said it has been sitting with Sony for nearly two weeks.
Chris didn't say when they submitted the patch. They may well have only submitted it the day he posted that it was with Sony.
As for why some patches take longer than others, you know I can't answer that, nor can anyone else besides a Sony employee. It all depends on how much data the patch changes, etc. Especially with a patch like this, which deals with "memory fragmentation issues", I can imagine that being something that Sony has to be extra-careful with as that is dealing with memory allocation, not just the way the game runs.
The New Vegas patches were approved very quickly, for example, probably because they were fixes with problems in the engine/scripting of the game and had nothing to do with usage of the PS3's memory cache.
Well said
Chris never said when,he just pointed out an approximately release of the patch for all we know it could have been pushed back.
This glitch isn't bioware's fault and neither Sony's.These things happen
The game was tested and apparently there was nothing wrong with it.Let's not forget that there are still many who are playing the game and haven't experienced this glitch or any other issues mentioned here.
Regardless on who is to blame for the bug, this should still be an indication to Bioware to review and understand how the bug made it into the GM version of the game, and then review their testing procedures and see if any changes are necessary to prevent something like this from happening in the future.
Yes, no game is perfect, and there are plenty of games out there with issues that never get addressed by a developer. I am glad Bioware is fixing the issue. Also just because there are those out there that have not encountered the bug does not make it any more serious since the bug is there for those that have experienced it.
Well its one of two things from what i see.
1. One of the testers got sloppy, i am sure they stress test the games under different conditions.
And
2. Patches we got with the game are approved to work on the 360 version. Which doesnt use the ME3 engine, it uses the ME2 engine, so in essences ME3 engine can be rejecting the patches and we need a patch to fix that so the ME3 engine accepts them. But that arguement can be put to void since in theory everyone should problay be experiencing the problems.
So I am leaning towards Testers got sloppy, which i hope isnt the case either.

I'm not trying to sound like a fanboy or a troll (god i hope not) but if this has really destroyed your opinion of the company then stop feeding the machine. vote with your wallet and don't support any future titles. I personally have no ill will towards bioware and I haven't run into any of bugs that a lot of you had but i do understand the frustration that you guys are going through losing saves is never fun.

Now i've one question: i heard is possible to backup save file just creating a new profile on PS3, but this mean once created it you have to start playing ME2 from that account and it recognise automaticcaly all saves? Is not clear for me as i always thought account and saves were indipendent, especially save files were unique and stored on PS system, shared cross each account i have created...so how can i back up my saves on a differen account indipendetly?

i switched to my slim ps3 expecting this to glitch less and now i cant do the shadow broker quest cause it freezes every time, ARE YOU KIDDING ME BIOWARE!!! DID YOU BETA TEST AT ALL!!! i mean goddamn, and dont tell me "they know about it and sent a patch to sony, its not their fault" of course its their goddamn fault, there is no way the beta testing didnt notice their guns gone on ng+ or a messed up portrait, let alone freezing, physics glitches, cache, textures and a file breaking DLC, this is lazyness and greed.
And dont give me "dont play" nonesense, i payed VERY good money for this and i have the right to demand quality.
Regarding your grammatically-challenged post-- I am having mad freezing on the Shadow Broker mission. It feels awesome to know that other people are suffering too.
A game with no glitches. You want this, don't you? The hate is swelling in you now. Take your Jedi weapon. Use it. I am unarmed. Strike me down with it. Give in to your anger. With each passing moment you make yourself more my servant.

People have long memories, DA2 and ME3 sales could take a hit. Just like with Bethesda, I'll think long and hard before buying Elder Scrolls 5, simply because New Vegas was such a buggy mess.
Often I will still get a game, but only weeks after release once I've checked the bugs on the forums. Release day purches these days are a huge risk.

you know what i dont understand in all this? how comes no reviewers experiance these major bugs and glitches? because we didnt hear anything from them about it. Or do they get some slightly different version of the game for reviewing purposes?
I thought the same, it's very odd.

As the original acknowledgement from Bioware stated, the problems are rare. The reviewers may have had no problems. They're common here, of course, becaus this is the tech support forum and the freezing and file corruption error thread. I played the game completely through with nothing other than minor frame rate issues, a few glitches with characters getting stuck, audio drops, minor things that are common to games. I never had a freeze or a bad file. I did play the entire game until about 2/3 through the final mission with autosave turned OFF, just to be careful. That's very simple. If you can't play without autosave, you just need to play better or lower the difficulty.
It's certainly FAR less buggy than other recent popular games (from, say, Bethesda). An on that same note, I recommend not rushing out to be the first one to try the patch. Patches have been known to corrupt game files, as well (see Bethesda, above).

I completed the game and did not have any issues(save, freezing) Overlord was pretty bad, no problems with shadow broker though.

Ummmmm, New Vegas was made/developed by Obsidian and produced/published by Bethesda. What were you expecting?

I'm proud to say that I did not, and will not, buy New Vegas because of my buggy experiences in Fallout 3 (especially their DLC packs, which broke my game).terrordactyl1 wrote...

I'm willing to give Elder Scrolls 5 a chance because its a new engine.
Though, really, Bethseda is by the far the worst, "Deal With It" developer out there. I can accept that the games are too large to comprehensively beta-test. We can't expect them to do QA for a year. But they only release a couple of patches (How many did NV get, one?) within a few months of release before they, literally, tell their community that they're done, they don't care about the other horrible, horrible bugs players find, because they want to move on to the next product to sell and stop spending man hours patching.

I'm not willing to install the patch mid-game, just in case.
P.S. Manually saving will be a nice throwback to the games of the last two gens, I'll look forward to it.
