you people whine way to much

have patience, apparently the patch will be released shortly.

In the meantime you can still play the game

-turn auto save off

-do not log on the EA servers

-save often

-restart the game after 1-2 hours or so(especially after you finish a mission and you're about to start a new)

-have a USB stick always plugged in on your system,so everytime you are about to quit the game and turn off you system check and copy your save file to it before you do (not the profile save)it can be restored if you happen to get the corruption glitch afterwards as long as you delete the corrupted file. The corrupted file CANNOT be restored.

Yes there is a work around, but the great thing about ME2 is getting immersed in the story and the characters, and to some that workaround is detrimental to that enjoyment. Also some have report the corruption playing the game for only 30 minutes. So the work around does not seem to be full proof for all.  Also people have a right to be upset when they have invested 30+ hours in a game and then the save file gets corrupted and all there work and enjoyment is loss.

You're proud to deny yourself probably the best RPG that has been released this decade because it launched with some major bugs that were successfully patched within a week or two of release?

Yes, New Vegas only got one major patch.  Because it only needed one.  The game is fully playable, I have run through it three times since the patch without encountering any game-breaking bugs.

Do you realize that Dragon Age became completely unplayable after a PS3 firmware update (which was not Sony's fault, they cannot test every single game every time they update) and it took BioWare over a month to fix it?

I'm still patient. There is the possibility that this patch could have caused some potential issues with the Playstation 3 version of the game, if not other things on the PS3 in general. This is actually common practice to go over everything a patch does, and patches that are supposed to fix bugs and corruptions certainly require more attention to detail observations than costume packs. This long wait is really not surprising, nor is it really that bad.

Alright guys, im a gamer from Indonesia and this is the first time ever i post in this forum

I'm a PS3 user and have bought mass effect 2 and all its add on pack,
in the past when i havent been able to play ME2 on PS3 i used my friends 360 console,

luckily thanks to bioware this game is available in PS3 with all its DLC available which is a huge plus for me

Unluckily i played the game without stumbling to this topic in this forum and although i see occasional freezes (about one freezing loading screen after i play 9 or 8 hours) my save game didnt corrupt
UNTIL i reached the taxi chase scene, thats when i crashed and lost all save game. And i was saving that DLC to be played last after the story mission too ......

SO ... BIOWARE you should have been able to recognize some of the occasional glithes during game testing
you too SONY why is the patch taking so damn long? I mean really do you hide it under a bed or something?

so i been waiting for 2 weeks not playing ME2 but last saturday i say "F*ck it" and i'll just play it without the patch, however i been playing about 9 hours non stop and i havent reach any freezing glitch at all, but i do logged off EA and turn off autosave just in case, and i will prepare a USB just before the shadow broker mission

dude in the last 2 page of this topic for the last 6 hours you been saying "get a life" "stop torlling and get a life" "you will dont lie" and "get a life"

i dont understand what you mean really, no offense, we do have a life and we're trying to make the most out of it by playing this magnificent game. And for you saying "Get a Life" while you been repeating that 3 times is not gonna solve anything in here! Instead your probably gonna ****** someone else and making the trouble worse :<

as for the "why yall trying to batch the ps3 version?"
i watched most of the user comments here, no we're not trying to bash the PS3 versions, the graphics are great (although i havent reached overlord so i dunno how bad the texture in there) but we're simply bashing either sony for releasing the patch so slow, or bashing bioware for not being thorough with the game

Well I hope for the patch to be out sometime this week so then we can all stop coming onto this Forum and Type in Random Stuff about new Vegas and mass effect being to buggy. But In the mean time I'm not sure what some of you are saying about Frame rate drops in ME2 on PS3 I didn't have a problem with that,Just Freezes and save corruptions.ohh and some of you keep saying just use the work around Well I shouldn't have to use it Since I thought I bought a Working game But still a great game non the less.:?

You can still enjoy the game and get immersed in the story and characters if you still play an hour or two a day.I mean many gamers myself included don't have  free time in general to play more than 1-2 hours per day.I don't see how  just restarting the game or just copying your save files once every often to a USB stick (1 minute worth)and continue playing will be dentrimental to that enjoyment.Sure it is a bit of a hussle.
There are some occassions where the corruption occured after 30 minutes of gameplay but for all we know those experiencing it, may be swtiching constantly on too many maps or missions during that timeframe which as we know is one of the main reasons causing the save file corruption glitch

Some people need to chill a little bit and stop overexaggerating, yes we bought a game, there are some issues they will be fixed as soon as possible simple as that. It's not like we invested a huge ammount of money on a house or a car.

So you are saying that if you were unaware of this bug or the not 100% foolproof workaround, and it happened to you after playing the game for 30-40 hours. you would just say it was a bug and not be upset about it. We are all aware that no game is perfect and that bugs do slip through, but a bug like this needs to be investigated on how it made it into the GM version of the game, and make changes as necessary to prevent it from happening again in future games.

even the work around Isn't 100% effective and doesn't always work.plus dude you try and loose 35+hours of work in a game, and then come on here and tell me how it feels.I know That alot of people Like myself and a few freinds are just wanting to play a game without having to turn the game on then off every few hours just so we dont freeze up or our saves get corrupted it's kinda  anoying to look at your clock and say ohh I gotta turn the game off. me Nor a single person should have to be that  carefull when playing a game.....But Bioware is still the best company every and best game in my book is Mass Effect.:D

Finished the whole game twice plus shadow broker without any crashes or freezes. The only bugs that I got where some missing dialogue audios, kaidan's picture displaying on my room, and that I cannot give the serrice brandy to Dr chakwas (after purchasing the serrice brandy I cannot open the shop inventory again even there are still items left).

Liara also pointed out that I am not with anyone after the Lair of The Shadow Broker mission even if I am in an existing relationship with Tali. Did not try the Shadow Broker yet on my second playthrough.

in the last 3 days i had NO freeze (i disabeled 3 days ago the autosave in the options).

Yesterday i had to put the autosave on (as in the final mission i cannot save manually often lik i want), and after 30 minutes gameplay, my ps3 froze...!!!!!

ps: i have a ps3 slim... so it does not count the type of ps3

i've been in that situation a lot of times.I even lost all my data on the ps3 because of YLOD which Sony doesn't take responsibility and yet they give  1 year warranty only.Very lame on their behalf.
QA testing isn't an easy task, especially with games with so much content like rpg's.
there are many costumers(the majority) who bought the game and yet they haven't experienced this glitch at all and probably they never would even if there wasn't any patch to fix it.That's how the glitch got through the tests.

Just bought this. No problems as of yet but am seriously going as slow as possible waiting for the patch. Considering it's been nearly a month since the patch was announced I really thought it would be out by now. Was there any feedback (in the 40+ pages) as to what the hold up is?

Didn't make it and played yesterday - switched on the auto save and went through the mission again. No problems at all, apart from constant audio delays.

Gonna play further, but with autosave off. Not gonna wait until the patch release - otherwise I'm affraid I'd play this game as 65 years old on retirement.
