[Anti-villain]

 I have only encountered one crash in two playthroughs (during tali's loyalty mission) and fortunately no corrupted save game. I am going to hold off until the patch is released before I do another playthrough though.

on my second playthru, 23 hours in....no freezes, and only a few minor bugs so far, biggest one being me and my team getting stuck hovering in the air in the collectorship right before the first terminal (right after you get that wep training).



Gonna keep at it...playing 2-3 hours each time....

as for me, i decided to play ME 2 this weekend.. (had planned to do a ME 2 weekend so it'd be a waste if i didnt play) but like everyone else here, i decided to play slow and made sure i did the work around every after few hours and/or after a few missions. I turned the auto-sing in to EA coz that takes a hell of a lot of time at the beginning screen and most times it would stay "trying to sign in" for the longest time until i decide to reset the game.



So i played and fortunately enough, i'm at work now and my game's still intact - no corrupted file yet. only thing worth mentioning was: 1) i put my game on pause coz my gf was on a phone call and after a few minutes, my ps3 just decided to turn off by itself (red blinking lights) so i had to manually restart the ps3 (no corrupted save tho whew!) and 2) I was playing thru Overlord (no rainbug, no freezes) but as i got to the last location to fight the VI, my ps3 turned off again by itself. thankfully no corrupted save again but i took that as a hint to log off and go to bed since its already 4am. >_<



wow! good story bro! hehehe where's the patch? here's all my fingers crossed hoping for tomorrow!

Honestly, it makes sense to me to wait for patch before installing the game, system file and creating a profile. I think there is less risk this way.

i'm gona be real sad if the patch isnt out by tomorrow.. i'd hate to have my file corrupted again and you have to start over and do everything again for the 3rd time..

Not holding out much hope for tomorrow... But will be grateful and hopeful if it does. It desperately deserves to have a fighting chance as one of the greatest PS3 games.



Although I haven't put any effort into ME2 since I stopped as NG+ doesn't work and there is no point in wasting more time doing something that’s not working. Do we get some compensation for not being able to use the game properly for the last few weeks, or is the patch the only reward?

I've played 36 hours without a corrupted save - but that's with frequent saves and exits to the main menu. (I'm dividing my time between the console and my PC, so I pause frequently. I guess this has the added benefit of avoiding the glitch.)

well at this point I said screw it and I started playing mass effect now.I'm tired of having to wait on a Fu**ING patch to play this awsome game and. I turned auto save off and I really hope I don't have to restart a new game for the patch to work when it comes out.Calling Bioware now to check.

yeah.. like i said: i did give in and played the weekend. I really would just hate it if my data gets corrupted again and (if my back up file wont work) i had to play everything all over again for the 3rd time... i might just give up on this game..

Sounds like your PS3 is overheating fella, this is the exact behaviour my old launch model did before I saw the YLOD.
It may be an idea to backup any saves now just in case. I hope I'm wrong, it's a pain in the backside when it happens, but just be careful!

People, patches and PSN updates have different schedules: PSN only updates on tuesdays, patches can arrive at any time... patches are not even dowloaded from PSN, they only notify the PS3 there is an update.

So is there a possible release date for the patch? I really want to play with my saved character! I finished it once and it just keeps freezing now!

It would be really nice if Bioware updated the info about this patch.. Have they sent it to Sony already? When is it going to be released? Whose fault is it that it's not been released yet? Anything at all would be better than ignorant waiting.

hmm.. it seems unlikely as i just started playing at that time. like literally less than 10 mins. Actually noticed my PS3 acting weird ever since ME 2 even when i'm not playing. Sometimes it freezes or turns off by itslef as early as i turn it on and it's on the home screen. Never had any of this problems before with any other game in my ps3. So i sometimes end up just ejecting my ME 2 disc after playing so my PS3 wont bug up the next time i turn it on. I dont know for sure if ME 2 has anything to do with it but like i said, it all started when i started playing ME 2.

IF ANYBODY has any more ideas regarding this one, please let me know. I wana make sure it's ME 2 and not my PS3.

PS: i popped in DA:O the other night as a break from ME 2 and i didnt have any problems whatsoever.. with the game or the PS3.. so i dont know what to think now.. PLUS: i live in chicago and it's freezing cold the past couple of days so my room, my tv and PS3 werent that hot to begin with hehehe

So I called EA since there was No Number for bioware and since EA owns Bioware now I guess they handle all the calls now.anyways They had no Further info on the patch and it's progress.Sony Does have the patch and they are waiting for the approval from Sony that the patch is ok to put on psn.until then we can all just sit here and drink Beer and grow beards from the long wait.
