We all know that you will never buy another Bioware game ever, and that you cancelled the preorder for DA2 and ME3....
So please, stop the constant ranting and make this waiting less stressful, please......
The glitch sucks big time, i completely agree with that, but i decided to wait for the solution (been playing for 30+ hours using the workaround, 3 bugs, zero freezes).

When none of the Bioware employees post, then loads of people talk about boycotting Bioware. But then as soon as someone from Bioware posts, everyone seems to suddenly turn happy again lol. Then this cycle just repeats again and again
Thanks for the info Jack.

I for one, believe that i havent really complained in here but i have been lurking in this forum and writing down some thoughts.. there's nothing else to do anyway. hehehe
@ Jack Lamden : appreciate the effort bro. i've seen you post a couple things or so in this thread even tho you really have no information to give out and see, people appreciate that.
I wonder who has any suggestions on how to find out any info on this patch (which is in Sony's hands) is there any way of communicating with sony?

I don't want anyone to think I'm laughing at their misery, but watching this thread can be kinda funny sometimes.

LoL! i'v been in and out of this forum as i am checking on the status of the patch myself. But mostly i'v been joking around.. maybe that's how i am. i hate stress so i try to be funny. maybe it's just a matter of time until someone gets mad at me as well. hehehe
oh.. PS. i know this isnt the thread for this but does DA:O have NG+? was thinking of playing that again while waiting for the ME 2 patch but i'd hate to start all over again. XP

Well, my apologies to the guys that have losed their savegames due this serious bug, i forgot that in that moment you just can think of use your arc projector on somebody.
I jus want to state some facts to consider:
1) I dont think Bioware wanted this serious glitch to happen, i mean, their bussiness is selling games, a major glitch like this affects their reputation....
2) They aknowledged the problem and worked to solve it, they took their time, and their only mistake was to not update us periodically in the progresses of the patch, i think the patch doesn't pass the first QA, so they dont sent the patch to SONY that friday, 3 weeks ago.
3) Lots of people played the game normally, completed several walktroughs with no major problems, so this explains, in part at least, that the issue could slipped out of the testing phase before release.
4) Losing your gamesave after hours of playing can put you in a krogan rage state easily, but you have to calm down, tearin apart the city where you live, will not solve the problem, and for the 100th time, the patch will not recover corrupted game saves, a hard truth that have to be accepted....
5) We have to wait, hopefully SONY will release the patch today...!!! ( a man can dream...
So to all those ME2 fans that are waiting..... stay strong....!!!

Still it would be nice if someone from Bioware could confirm if corrupted save data is lost forever or if the patch´ll salvage it (which personally, I doubt).

I don't recall anything in the patch that would uncorrupt previously corrupted saves.
There is a change that should address the major known cause of corrupted saves (memory fragmentation)
So it should, to the best of my knowledge, fix the issue going forward but not what has already been corrupted.

Ahhh something like a confirmation at last!!! Thank you, thank you - now I can fall back to my coincidal 15-hour-USB-safe and play again! Only this time I´ll be more cautious

I'd like to give you guys more information but I don't really have any.
The patch was delivered to Sony for certification.
It will eventually make it out of the certification process but I don't know when exactly that will be.
Thanks for the update, that's all we want (well we want the patch but an update on what's going on is the 2nd best thing).
Do you know if the patch failed Sony's QA first time around? I never saw a patch be in Sony's hand for this long without release so was just curious.
You don't have to answer though, just please keep us updated.

hey Lurchi, can you update me on that one after you're done? I heard from some people/forums that those back-up saves from thumbdrives dont work... or at least you have to uninstall everything then install everything again like the first time. Please let us know how you did it. That would certainly add some more peace of mind on my part.. thanks in advance bro!

I don't know actually.
I'm not working on ME2 PS3 myself, so I can't really say one way or the other.
I know that at this exact point in time it's in Sony's hands, but that's about it.

I was wondering can you get the person that directly worked on the patch to update us on what the patch will actually fix. I am betting there is more that is being fixed than what was posted in the start of this thread.
But as i said a few pages back, i will just play Dragon Age Origin as I wait for this patch. Hopefully its up once i finish my playthrough with Andraste Ashes, Dalish Recruiting and Denerim left to do plus Awakening and other DLC.

@mikx82:
Actually done nothing special.
1.) Connected USB-Stick to PS3
2.) Went to Game -> Saved Data Utility (PS3)
3.) Chose save-game you want to backup (triangle-button), then "Copy"
4.) Destination: USB-Stick
5.) So after I got corrupted save-data, I just opened the USB-Stick (still Game -> Save Data Utility (PS3)) chose the backup (still Triangle-Button) and chose "Copy".
6.) That´s it - didn´t delete my Game Progress/Settings or the corrupted data thoug!
