What I'd like to know is - Now that the first patch has been submitted to Sony, is anyone at BioWare actually working on a subsequent patch that would take care of some of the other major problems, like the out-of-sync sound in cutscenes, the NG+ glitch and the "Minecraft" textures in Overlord? I mean, these bugs obviously aren't game-breaking, but I'm sure they pretty much ruin the experience for a lot of people out there, especially the audio issue.

Btw. I have absolutely no idea how all this works but - does anyone think that the audio being out-of-sync might be caused by that memory fragmentation issue? I guess I'd just like to see this resolved by the first patch, because if a second patch takes another month to get approved, who's gonna be around to give a damn?

God, I wish I could just play the game I bought. Without having to worry / backup / restart constantly that is...

And I believe that Jack is actually working on ME 3 right now (amiright?) that's why he doesnt really have too much info regarding ME 2 and the bug issues.. but as you can see, he takes the time to quell the frustrations of the restless MASSES. That's the EFFECT of updates.. posted 2 /fifteen/twothousandeleven

PS... see what i did right there? XP

I don't understand, why wouldn't it work? It's the game save that gets corrupted not the game profile/settings. You should be able to easily replace the corrupted file with a clean one.

it's just bcoz i read somewhere that after you delete the corrupted data and just copy-pasted your back up into your PS3, for some reason (i'm not such which one) the PS3 or the game wont recognize the file.

but since nothing here is really proven - or may differ with each person's circumstances, it's still stressful to play a buggy game even with the back up.

so it's nice to know if it's just as easy as what Lurchi say.

so as a confirmation Lurchi, your game is back and running again with the back up file? it works?

thanks!

thanks for the update Jack! Sony's had this patch for a while now, it can't be too long now. I wonder whats taking so long for it to come out of certification?

Yepp works just fine - got the options "Load" and "Resume" back immediatley. No problems so far.
Guess Rockpopple is right.

Wouldn´t lie about it, cause I´ve lost my 30+-save-data to the corruption!!! At least saved my Shepard Image IPB

Do you know if the patch failed Sony's QA first time around? I never saw a patch be in Sony's hand for this long without release so was just curious.

Haha then you have no idea my friend. I once had to wait 3 months for a patch to come out; Please guys stop ranting and insulting Bioware. It's in Sony's hand. Go and rant on them, maybe they'll speed up the process if a lot of people send them complaints. And yes New Vegas patch was out in 24 hours but that's because the game was simply unplayable; A lot of people are running Mass Effect 2 without any crashes etc except for a small group like you guys have bad luck (and i feel bad for you guys). I think Sony feels that this patch isn't important enough and really take their time to test it [smilie]http://social.bioware.com/images/forum/emoticons/angry.png[/smilie][smilie]http://social.bioware.com/images/forum/emoticons/angry.png[/smilie]

And you know this because???  Sorry to say this but it doesn't take that long to get the patch pushed out once it's in Sony's hands.  Bioware had no issues pushing out DLC packs in a day.  If you ask me, "It is up to Sony now" is more or less an excuse or a lie to buy time.  /shurg

Then you have NO idea how it all workes with releasing patches and DLC's. Like I said I once had to wait 3 months for a patch. But I'm not gonna argue with you and you can post 100 post on this forum and the patch will not come. Please send some complaints to sony as well

Yeah, I'm on ME3 at the moment.

I can ask someone who worked on the ME2 PS3 patch to post, but I can't guarantee that it'll happen.

in general posting in the forums isn't part of our job, and a lot of folks try to avoid it for various reasons.

Hey Jack, any scoops about ME3 you can give us while you're here? You can break some news right here, right now. =D

One of the reasons people don't like to post is because as a publicly traded company there's a number of laws we have to obey.

I'm not quite sure what I can say about ME3 currently, and I'm not too keen on breaking any laws, so I'll just say nothing about it instead.

Jack than you for taking you're time to answer some questiosn (even if it's the Mod's job to do it :pinched:) but please while you guys are working on ME3,  make sure to delete some of the flaws that the PS3 version of ME2 has. And good luck with ME3 i know you guys will do a grate job

Aww, well I haven't gotten to play ME2 yet anyway! But Jack I appreciate your honesty. You seem like a cool person so thats +1 for Bioware...

Now you can just pm me some ME3 info, I won't tell anyone...btw do you know when it was sent to Sony? I know it was supposed to be sent a couple weeks ago, but if there was a delay in that process then I can understand the length of time its taking...

I'll give you news about ME3, the game will be released without even a proper quality control or testing and bugs will be reported by the dozen. and you will be coming to these forums to complain about the fact that a patch has not been released, to which Jack (whoever he is) will react by posting a small note that says he wishes he had something new to tell you about the patch that fixes the game breaking glitch you have found, but that unfortunately the patch has been submitted to Sony and they have had no answer from them. You will then feel stupid for buying yet another EA game, just like I do now  for having to go through this again even though I already had the same problem with DA:O. The future for you.

Jack,

Cant you have a word with whoever that was involved in sending the patch to Sony to call them and give them a bit of a kick up the backside to get this out to the users?

Since posting on this thread and seeing some of the issues I havnt played ME2 in over a week as I dont want to lose my 30 hour save. I have backed it up to my usb pen drive just incase, but going on what some people have said restoring the backup may not actually work.

Only issue I have had really is what I mentioned already with the Hammerhead in Overlord dropping through the platforms in the lava, Also the bad ground textures on same DLC. I have only had one crash thankfully so far, I was talking to the male engineer and getting the engine upgrade task and it locked up. Restarted my PS3 and it was fine afterwards. I had no trouble with Lair of the Shadow Broker at all thankfully. I have also noticed a few voice sync issues on the cutscenes.

Please someone from Bioware try and contact Sony and get this sorted for us. We need it sorting ASAP with the imminent release of DA2 incase issues pop up with that title (DA actually worked spot on for me from day one, issue with it for me was my codes not working to get Stone Prisoner. EA managed to get it sorted quickly though)

this blows, i wish i never played mass effect. right now i cant pick another game to play its all just to hallow, i mean after i played a master piece like mass effect how can i play other games and enjoy it?
this game should've come with a warning saying its so good that it might obliterate any chance of playing another game.
after they patched im gonna go on the insanity and play as renegade as i can, since shepard is a lot funnier that way.

BTW Jack Lamden can you say something basic like if they gonna keep the main theme music at the end run on the suicide mission for the ME3?

we love you guys.Peace :)

haha rockpopple. XP one thing at a time bro. hehe we gota learn to crawl before we can walk. ME 2 first before ME 3 hehehe And yes, they'r bound by law and by company policies to not release any info about any products they'r working on. They have a different department for that.. release of info, publicity, marketing and stuff.. You dont want Jack to lose his job, do you? hehehehe

just work hard on that ME 3 game Jack.. make sure it's not as buggy as ME 2 (since they'r using same engine, right?) Thanks again Jack. keep up the good work.

Fiddlesticks and poppycock!

lol. No worries, it's cool. Honest opinion is that I've enjoyed the heck out of ME2 (though a patch would make the game experience a little smoother - no constant exiting/restarting and such) and I can't wait for DA II.

First of all: thanks for informing us Jack. I think that one of the main things that people are disappointed in is not the fact that there is a bug or we're waiting for a patch. They're mainly dissapointed in the fact that there has been no official updates on an issue that is important to every ME2 PS3 player for about 15 days.

As a publicly traded company informing your stakeholders is also part of the deal. In more ways then I can think of, customers are very much stakeholders in that company too. Simply informing them keeps 'em happy and shoving money towards the great games you produce.

So informing is basically a win-win situation!
