It's not. I check it every day hoping that some lazy bastard has finally gotten the patch done.

I've been bored out of my mind at the moment, not having Mass Effect to play.

Hopefully the bloody thing will come out before Mass Effect 3 does.

Apparently, the person who writes Sony's press releases also reviews patches. That would explain why they were able to put together a finger wagging warning to whatever minority of pinheaded pirates exist out there... and yet still haven't approved the patch.



Seriously, was Sony's warning really necessary? If someone uses pirating devices, do they really expect not to be noticed when they connect to PSN? Do they really expect not to see any consequence when they're caught? If they don't they deserve Sony to reach out (via PSN) and squash them based on stupidity alone. So why waste the time on a press release?

Same here.  I even played Dead Space 2 and got all trophies waiting for this patch and finished yesterday and still no patch

I say exchange the game for marvel vs capcom 2

As far as I know, no one has been unable to play the game from start to finish, as long as they do the following things. It's not ideal, but there is no reason to mothball the game until the patch. I have played it through twice (100 hours) and not had a corrupt save - but I have had freezes.



1) Turn of EA online options

2) Turn off autosave

3) Backup save file to memory stick (every day)

4) Manually save every 15 minutes

5) Stand still when saving



Yes, I had 3 or 4 freezes for each playthrough...not a big deal. But, I haven't heard of anyone that did all of the above getting a corrupt save, or if they did, not being able to copy the save back from usb.



There's no reason to put the game on the shelf for a month.

Why dont we spam Sony with thousands of emails when the patch is ready to be published i guess if they will get spamed by thousands of emails they immediatly will publish the patch

yeah a programm whichs sends thousands of emails with the same context "publish the patch of mass effect 2 " hehe Sony will surely publish the patch its easier than to answer all emails

I'm seriously considering selling the game and upgrading my PC so I can play it there. Even if the patch fixes the gamebreaking stuff, it'll still have fu**ed up sound and whatnot. Buying this for the PS3 was such a mistake...

But I guess to an extent we will all miss the suspense when it finally releases...which should be in 5, 4, 3, 2................

exactly i have done that,even standing still when saving. done one playthrough in about 65hours, completed the game, awesome from start to finish and never experienced a single freeze. and you should had to the list to just do a max of a single sitting of 2 hours because of the memory fragmentation.

HAHA! it's nice to see someone read and remembered my (silly but would be cool if it were true) suggestion XP heheheheh

oh! and for me, i check this thread first thing in the morning, during the whole day at work, and when i get home XP altho i was able to finish miranda's loyalty mission last night with no problem. still fearful tho... dont wana lose my saved game again.

the best way is to write comments on the official ps3 blog.They check it every now and then.
With e-mails you won't get anywhere

haha... also the final credits have lags and micro freezes....





i finished the game and wanted to see all the credits, and noticed that they suffer lags and freezes. Every time the PS3 is reading the BD, the credits freezes for a second.



Now i can really say, that the PC version of Mass Effect 2 is the best.
