...If this is really all Sony's fault, I'd say they haven't given Bioware very good reason to bring ME3 or DA2 to the PS3. >.>

i think yall are xbox fan boys tryin 2 diss the ps3
I have read many many posts like this, and to me it does not make sense. Why would anyone try to hurt the reputation of the competitor when there is nothing to gain?
I for one have had my game save corrupted, and I find it very hard to believe that the dozens of other reports in this thread (and others) are merely people lying, in order to make their console of choice look better ... asinine.
Some of us may get a little too heated in our posts, but waiting around can make some people stir-crazy.

I don't know why this is taking so long for a single patch to be released. I mean Wow It's almost been a whole month And still nothing.I've been very understanding about the fact that this patch was sent to Sony awhile back
Once more, with feeling:
CHRIS NEVER SAID WHEN THE PATCH WAS SENT TO SONY.
He posted a week and a half ago that the patch was "in Sony's hands". He VERY WELL may have posted that because that day was when it was sent to Sony.
What is the point in bothering Sony to rush the patch out? What if they did that and it turns out it causes more problems than it fixes? Then this thread would be blaming Sony for "not doing their job".
This patch deals with memory fragmentation issues, which is something Sony has to take VERY seriously as it is a patch that works with the PS3's hardware and firmware, not simply with the game engine. Again, this is why New Vegas was patched very quickly but not all patches are.
Additionally, every credible source (ie people who work at BioWare and professional reviewers) have noted that this problem has happened to very few people. If you read this thread, you will notice that there are maybe two dozen total people who keep posting about it - not hundreds of unique complaints.
I personally am on my third playthrough and have had no issues, and I HAVE NOT EVEN BEEN USING THE WORKAROUND! The only thing I do is take a break every 2-3 hours if I play that long, which you should do for ANY game you play, if only for your eyes and wrists to get a break!
Anyone who insists on continuing to complain about this problem should probably register their copy of the game. When I see a bunch of posts by people without a "2" under their avatar, it makes me wonder. It is not that paranoid to think that XBox fanboys might be artificially exagerrating this problem, because fanboys do things that make far less sense. Fanboys, in case you haven't noticed, are usually not the brightest bulbs on the internet.

Well said
also let's cut Sony some slack their a**es are on fire these days due to piracy.
that's their primary objective right now.they're trying to protect themselves along with other 3rd party developers-publishers.They will eventualy release the patch sooner or later

Also, if they intend to keep their platform strong, they better keep their games working. I'm very disappointed that a release considered to be a "blockbuster" with a memory fragmentation issue is being relatively ignored by them. Surely shows how they care about the system, right? Right now i recommended my friends to buy the xbox version and I wonder if Bioware is happy to have ported such a big project to be left out in the cold by Sony. If I had a xbox myself, i would probably trade in my ME2 copy...

This right here is what I'm talking about. I'll bet $20 you do own a 360.
What makes you think Sony is ignoring this patch? Are you a programmer? I have worked in QA and programming and I can tell you right now that a problem which causes issues with MEMORY ALLOCATION and CORRUPTS HDD DATA is something that Sony has to take seriously. BioWareEA let this slip through the cracks, not Sony. It is not Sony's job to beta test third-party games.

And for some weird reason my PS3 or any sony Console for that matter is my preferred console but this is a problem that is more severe then the 360 or PC versions of this game and I'm only asking why can't this be addressed any faster? Why is this taking so long? if this is such a Critical problem they shouldn't rush it but it can also corrupt data on my HDD and that's something I don't want to happen especially because my PS3 is the old 60gb version that in some ways had more problems with new games then the newer slim...
Now I'm in about 42+ hours and still playing my first play trough. I would HATE to lose so much of my free time. If I would lose that it would be impossible for me to bring myself to replay this great game and yes I already finished it on pc and 360.
I have a full time job and as some have previously mentioned it would be devastating to lose so much free time. I know they shouldn't rush but I just want more info on when its going to be released I wouldn't mind if they said just wait 4 more weeks then atleast i would have somewhat of a date...

Also after this, i hope Bioware starts keeping the saves like they had it in DA:O. I will problay be coming back to complain on ME3 forums if i lost my entire career profile that i worked hard on. But of course i am sure the that Bioware will make sure something like this doesnt slip through again with all the same people complaining about it.
But basically since i havent really run into the problem, i am more worried if something like some of you guys have been saying will happen to me in future releases. DA2 and ME3 come to mind at this time. Still amazes me suchs a problem like this one had slipped through in the first place, even through it only has affected a very few people.

Well for a crazy person like me I own 3 copies of this game the 360 version the PC version (both CE editions) and the PS3 version. And I like it on my ps3. all my versions of the game where a little troubled in the beginning and I don't really mind that.

Hi prazision,
I didn't know about the registration. Now I have a "2" under the picture.
Thanks!
Sincerely,
CanadaGeorge
P.S. In case anyone keeping track:
I don't own an XBox;
I am a member of the "Corrupted Save" trophy club
I'm on my fourth playthrough; and
this game is amazing!

It just amazes me that you are using the people complaining the most about the game are 360 fan boys and are trying to discredit Bioware and the PS3. You act like they have no right to complain that the issue got into the GM version of the game, and want the patch released.
I too have worked in programing,QA, and intergration for 10+ years, and corruption is a serious issue, but there have been no indication with this corruption that it has any way affected other things on the PS3 (i.e. other game save files or the PS system software).
Yes, there is a work around, and you and others feel that it is a viable one, but not everyone feels that way. Just because there are others saying they have not had the issue does not make the issue any less serious.
