Mass Effect 2 PS3 patch notes, freezing and saved game issue work around

Furthermore, Mass Effect 2 along with many other games with memory fragmentation/data corrupting issues have sailed right on through Sony's (and Microsoft's) certification process.

My point is that it's not Sony's fault that there needs to be a patch, and it is completely ridiculous to assume that Sony is being "lazy" about releasing the patch. That's all.
Sony is actually a very good company when it comes to consumer support and if the patch is taking a bit to get certified, you can bet there is a good reason.
They really are at times. To think that they were the ones who actually made the patch for Bayonetta (not Sega or Platinum)to give the ps3 userbase a slight improvement on their experience was truly thoughful.
Sony has many patches for certification, not just ME2,they certainly give priorities.
As for games we see them patched immediately like GT,KZ,LBP,it's only natural since they are first party games they may not need to pass certification at all.First party devs are Sony. They patch them which automaticaly translates in certification.they have the rensposibility. With 3rd party devs it's different the whole process would take longer.

He said "very few". That's not a hard number but it does suggest that the problem is being exaggerated by the few who have experienced it (you know, the people saying "don't buy this game, it's unplayable").
If the few who have experienced the bug can blow it out of proportion, it is only fair that the many of us who have NOT experienced it can provide some balance to the issue.

He said some:
"First, we are sorry some of you have had problems playing Mass Effect 2 on the Playstation 3 and want to thank you all for providing feedback on our forums on both the freezing and resulting save game issue that some of you have experienced. The information and support you have provided has helped the development team to build the latest patch. We’re currently testing the patch thoroughly, we expect to be finished our quality passes on Friday. This patch is then being delivered to Sony ASAP for verification and distribution. We will announce as soon the patch is available. Please see the below patch notes for a complete list of what will be included:"
Also that number can be skewed since some people have stop playing or not started the game till the patch is released to fix the issue. Yes there are some who have gone to the extreme on this issue, but to say that those who have experienced the issue are whiners or 360 fanboys goes to the other end of the spectrum.
Plus when people get frustrated, they tend to lash out.

While data and telemetry have shown that very few people have seen this issue, we know a few of you here have experienced this problem

That data was based on when the issue was first found. We have no data how much more it has happened since then, and if you read the first post in this forum when he created it and that I quoted he did say some. So the same can be said of you as well.

Yeah, you're just balancing the conversation by suggesting that anyone who has experienced the bug is being dishonest and/or disingenuous about their experiences... because everyone who mentions the bug on the board are clearly covert 360 fanboys...
you don't think you're blowing things a little bit out of proportion and perhaps even trolling?

- It is only happening to a few people. Yet you only say according to Bioware that is true yet I find no evidence anywhere in the forums of them stating that.
- According to you you are assuming that the patch might not have been submitted till the time Chris updated us in this forum, but again no evidence that Bioware did not submit the patch at the time this thread was posted.
Did you?

Regardless of the number of people that have the issue the bug is still present and is causing problems for people playing the game. Then going around saying that those complaining about it are whiners and 360 fanboys does not help either.

No the patch has not been released as of now. When it is released I am sure we will see a post by a player or Bioware saying it has been accepted and released for download.

If you want to have an arguement that's fine but please try and keep consistant. There is a big difference between saying some people and only saying some people. Changing your meanings halfway through an arguement really isn't a smart move.
On topic: I doubt there's anything sinister or incompetent going on, maybe the problem is more complex than we think or something is wrong in the patch. Either way I think it will come out when it's ready and safe. There's nothing we can do and no one we can blame, just have to sit tight

Yeah that is what i get for typing to fast, and not going back and reviewing my post. I am sure there is a reason for the patch taking a while to be certified and released. I understand that, but for some to suggest that the one's complaining about the issue are somehow 360 fanboys or blowing the issue about of proportion does not help.
At this point all we can do as you say is wait, and hope the patch comes out soon.
