I'm guessing this has to do with Sony. If it were up to Bioware, I could see them releasing it worldwide at the same time. Kind of odd that an Edmonton based company wouldn't give it to Canada and the US first. So it must be a problem on Sony's end.

I hope the patch will be ready for download when i get home, want to start my insanity run today, i finished my first run yesterday after almost 60 hrs. with only minor bugs to report and 1 freeze in all that playtime, i think i did all the missions available, leaved LoTSB for the end, no problems with that mision, just a little stutter before the taxi chase, and that was all, great adddon by the way.....

So why does Sony roll out a patch at different times for different regions? I'd like to wrap up ME2 without fear of destroying my hard drive

Played for 2 hours after installing the patch...no issues so far. The top deck of the Normandy is quicker to load.

Strangely, 3 new trophies have appeared;

The Ultimate Sacrifice

- Complete the Arrival DLC
Last Stand

- Survive all five waves in the battle for Object Rho
Covert Action

- Rescue Dr. Amanda Kenson without attracting hostile attention.

To all in the US complaining about receiving the Patch late:

How do you like it for a change! Can I remind you that ME2 released 3 days later in the EU than it did in the US. That and a myriad of other late arrivals in the EU (including my confusion when Demon's Souls was winning GOTY awards in 2009, the year BEFORE it was released here - a whole 9 months apart) lead me to rejoicing in the fact that we have something first for a change.

My Russian is not great but I think they were talking about how successful they were in getting us to believe that Sony actually released the patch and how silly we are to believe it

Finally. Sony's certification process was a bit on the ridiculous side for this patch. Could you guys find it in your time to just fixed that issue with NG+? I know it's asking much with how much grief this patch had but it's about the only real issue I had beyond the freezing.

Why don't you take it up with those responsible? It's not like we have a say when things get released. I'd also note that EA is an American company and BioWare is in Canada, both are in North America. It's very likely there are legal reasons why the games are released in other regions later. Yes, it sucks but "rejoicing" that other gamers don't have access to a game breaking solution is selfish and immature.
