I disagree about the Incisor being bad for the player. Its my sniper rifle of choice, providing I don't have access to the Widow. Ammo is so plentiful and easy to obtain, I've never had any problems with that. Worse case scenario, I switch to another weapon and use my powers. The Incisor kills enemies faster than the Viper.

I can't speak for your own experiences Seeker, but what you're saying above simply doesn't work with the facts. The Incisor's DPS is significantly lower than the Viper and it's ammo pickups haven't been balanced properly - IIRC they pick up at about 2-3 rounds per clip despite it having 15 rounds in the clip. That's a significantly smaller ratio than any other weapon relative to it's per-shot damage.

Or, to put it simply, according to the hard data, the Incisor does damage at a much slower rate and requires more ammo pickups to do so.

The Incisor fires 3 shots. The 3 shot's damage combined is greater than that of the Viper, particularly against shields. And I honestly don't have problems with its ammo.

It's not that straightforward. Simplistically, yes, a single burst from the incisor does more damage than a single shot from the Viper, but it takes about the same amount of time to land two shots with the Viper than it does to land a single burst with the Incisor, it's easier to manage multiple headshots with the Viper (as the burst will often miss with at least one of it's shots if you're trying for a headshot) and you can keep it up for longer with the Viper thanks to the larger clip and reserve.

As I said, I can't speak for your personal experience or opinions - all I'm pointing out is that what you're saying does't make sense when considering the data. You can claim black is white but that doesn't mean it's correct. Just look at the data here. We're not talking about the odd damage point in favour of the Viper, we're talking about the incisor being hundreds of points behind the Viper against every type of target.

Since it has the lowest DPS of any Sniper Rifle the Incisor could be a great gun if it was also the most ammo efficient sniper rifle; but as it is the extremely low number of rounds it gets from a thermal clip make it the most ammo hungry gun in the game (aside from heavy weapons).

The Viper (which I consider slightly overpowered) greatly outclasses the Incisor in both DPS and ammo efficiency.  Even the very ammo hungry Mantis is more ammo efficient than the Incisor and unlike the Incisor it can deliver one shot kills.
