Because a normal darkspawn broodmother just doesn't cut it!

It's all about being a human. I hate dwarves and elves.

I'd do what I did with Origins - play through on all the races, lol.

I loved all the Origins, howewer my favourite was the HN. I'm fine with Hawke, though if I have the chance I'll probably do some playthrough as an elf or a dwarf. Or a qunari. Qunari are awesome.

Almost everybody is going to pick something else, but for me, it's dwarves all the way. Their lore is AWESOME.

Always played as a human in Dragon age. Maybe an Elf on a second playthrough, but I never really mourned the loss of choosing your race in DA2. I'm fine with Hawke being human and only human if it means I get to talk instead of read through a bunch of text.

I've only completed DA:O with human characters, and I tend to choose humans if given a choice in games, but I really did enjoy the dwarf origins, and I'd be REALLY interested to see Thedas from the perspective of a qunari.
Generally, I find it's easier to role play a human character, because I know the race pretty well. Hippy dippy nature loving elves don't appeal to me, and neither do ugly races. Humans are just most relatable, and I can make them into a pretty pretty princess.

Elf or human, depending on how interesting the origin seemed. I couldn't care less about race (except dwarves always seemed wierd in romances), I'm more interested in the opportunities for roleplaying. Personally, though, I like it only one choice. That way, they can give more options for roleplaying emotions because it only applies to a certain amount of experiences.
EDIT: I'd love to play a qunari, because the culture and demeanour would be really fun to RP.

Humans.
In terms of leading a party i would prefer a human to lead as they are more diplomatic. And most races tolerate humans more then any other race so it would be easier to get information and other stuff if you had a human leader talking to people. (Atleast imo)

A Fade spirit. That would be amazing.
But elves I like. Elf mages. Elves of all kinds. And dwarves. Casteless dwarves. Fragmented sentences.

Elf, lets show those humans what happens when you destroy our society as a whole and enslave us!

Based on race preference alone, I would always choose elf. Story and background usually figure into my choice more than the race though. For instance, I played as a human noble after reading the books and I've been playing as human mage after hearing that Amell and Hawke are related.

I always roll a human character first in every cRPG I've played. It feels more natural to me.
