I'm not sure if this is a glitch or how the game is suppose to be, but I'm hearing two sides on the net.  But are you suppose to keep all weapons and armor used when you finished the game on your second playthrough from the very start?  And does that include the ability to specialize with another gun from the start of a new game+?  I didn't notice that this may of been a glitch until I started looking online about the freezing problems, (lost 15 hours of my insanity renegade playthrough, due to a freeze not too long ago).

I just wanted to know if this is a glitch in the game or just how the game is design to be.

Yes, any weapons and armor you acquire in game (except Heavy Weapons) along with whatever you choose in the Collector Base (new weapon / new weapon skill) is supposed to carry over to a New Game+. They know about it and will let us know when they have more information.

k, thanks for the reply. I just wanted to confirm this.

I'll just wait until the patch then to do a new game+.

Thanks again.

Bumping this so that this glitch won't be ignored.

I haven't played ME2 since I noticed this glitch.

Really? Is there any serious need to "bump" something after you already did barely an hour ago? It's not like you were even dropped even past the middle of the page.

Plus they know already which is why your thread got locked. Your obsessiveness over a non-gamebreaking glitch (and yes, just because it's "gamebreaking" to you doesn't actually make it so since the game can still be played unlike what was happening to people when the game froze outright and save data was destroyed) isn't going to make them work any faster or harder.

We all know your agenda already, and the devs themselves commented that when they have something new to report, they'll post it. Until then, no one really needs an hourly update from you since the only thing that will accomplish is getting other people's threads locked.

lol

You'll have to excuse me, I'm used to bumping on other types of boards. I could've sworn I last bumped a while ago. If it breaks the game for me; doesn't that make it game breaking? Hell, I'm not even playing it again until they fix it.

The really messed up thing is I'm pretty sure this glitch is miles behind the back burner.
The save corruptions or freezes never happened to me, so as far as I am concerned, it isn't game breaking.

I'll leave OP's thread alone because at the very least you made me feel kinda sad.lol

it's not really on the back burner, things with new game + just take a very long time to investigate due to having to play through the entire game.

Thanks a bunch, bro.

I really just wanted one of the staff to acknowledge what I've been saying. Next time I guess I won't be so... um, rude, I guess. I've screwed around with it a couple of times.

Could I make a thread or message you about my findings?

Any chance you know when the patch is getting released, Jack?

I don't know actually, I'm working on mass effect 3 and am not fully in the loop on this.

I'd rather someone who was fully informed say something, instead of me guessing, especially when people are getting riled-up so easily as of late.

With regard to this specific issue, I would advise that people remember that investigations into issues don't necessarily lead to fixes that can be put in to a patch. It's best to curb enthusiasm until it shows up in posted patch notes.

as far as i can tell, the problem is that no weapons and armor are imported from the previous playthrough when they should.

in the description of the new game plus feature it says all weapons and armor except heavy weapons are imported for the playthrough and yet that is what it doesn't happen. from my experience that's the only problem i had with that feature.

i hope this helps.

No. Only heavy weapons, bonus weapon and armors are supposed to carry over, but there is nothing except the DLC items !

I hope the folks at Bioware get this fixed as soon as possible. It's a great game and I'm loving it, but I'd like to invest in a NG+ when I'm finished.

I loved it while I was playing also and clocked up 40+hours on my first time through the game, earning minerals, guns, upgrades, armour and doing every mission and collecting every bonus I could to help with my second play through.

NG+ doesn’t work and each time I try it (3-4 times I’ve tried it) I get to the start and have NONE of what I did have, except only the money, and the resources of 50,000 of each with the DLC being the ONLY weapons I have.

It's a major bug and it’s not as bad as the corrupted data, but it’s still a massive error that needs sorting with either a single Patch or within a bigger more comprehensive patch to deal with everything.

A great shame about the bugs as they affect the whole game and ruined the experience and my enjoyment overall.

This must be indeed the best rpg ever. I mean, its so filled with bugs and glitches and we love it anyway. Not to mention that we lost me ME 1 experience. Please Bioware, have mercy and solve some of those.

Sorry, but we don't really have anything as an update. The patch is sitting with Sony and we are waiting for them to approve it. As soon as it is availabel, we will let everyone know.

Are you saying that none of the Bioware testers ever played the game through to completion, or never kept the save game file? Seriously?

Also there are 500+ people on these forums that could email Bioware a completed save game file in 5 minutes. It's a poor excuse.

Saying that Bioware doesn't possess a completed PS3 game save makes them sound ridiculous.

We don't need mercy. We need those bugs fixed once and for all. Shouldn't be a problem for one of the top developers in the business. I respect Bioware and knowing they'd bring ME2 to the PS3 was one of the best news I had last year, but a lot of people trusted them enough to buy this as soon as they could for the price of a recent game. A leap of faith we may not repeat when ME3 comes out if the bugs continue unattended.

We can live with the occasional framerate drops and long loading times. I even expected those in ME2 after finishing ME1 on PC. But come on, saves corrupting after dozens of play hours? Characters disappearing or "teleporting" to other places when you interrupt them with a paragon/renegade action? Sabotaged NG+? Sound delay? I really hope a patch correcting this stuff is released while we're young, or I may put ME2 on the shelve a lot sooner than I'd want.

Hi, I had a problem with my NG+ import as well.

But what concerns me the most is the fact that, after I import my completed save to the NG+, played a little and then save, I came back to the Main Screen, selected Load, and discover that my completed save was gone!!! I was planning to use it for ME3, and now it's totally gone T_T

Although, when I see my save data in PS3 XMB, I find out a save file which apparently corresponds to the completed save I'm missing.

Does anyone had the same problem?

Is there any way I can resolve this? :S

You completed save is not gone.  The PS3 only uses one save file.  When you hit Load Game you probably only see one save but you can chose Select Career to change back to your previous career (completed save)  but just a fair warning.  If you are going for the insanity trophy: if you reload a career @ any point of the insanity run you will not get the trophy.
