That's actually Sony's fault for implementing an "I'm too good for this world so I have to get special programming!" graphics chip.
As a PS3 owner (and ps1 ps2) i 100% agree with that, Sony of Japan screwed over PS3, certinly not Bioware, at least Sony of America took charge & did some impressive damage control some 2 years later

Yeah. I wrote that this morning before my coffee -- I have an Xbox and a PS3 on my desk, and I've been playing on the Xbox most recently. A little sloppy in the context of a thread talking about PS3, but now I've had my coffee and I promise not to mix them up again today.
So you have to purchase a new PS3 controller to play DA 2?
EDIT: Sorry, I hadn't my Jack Daniels flavored coffee yet

It's sad to see how people will so easily troll somebody just because they want the game to be top notch on their platform. I have nothing more to say other than due to the poster's behaviour this thread should be locked. Shame on you.

He didn't say "improvement for PS3", he said "improvement for console". Most of the people know that in DAO the A and the X have the same function, so I don't see the problem.
Since this thread is about PS3, he should be talking about PS3 controls as well. It doesn't help if Seb is reasuring the PS3 crowd that it wont be "some port" if he refers to Xbox controls. Sounds like he doesn't know what hes talking about when it comes to PS3.
Not that i agree with OP. PS3 version (DAO) is same on par with xbox, i dont think it has any problems, OP is graphics wh0re.
I believe that Seb wasn't referring only to xbox control, but to the console control. He simply wrote the wrong button. When I bought the Xbox, when I talked about the controller I said X and not A, because I played on PS2 for a lot of years, and I am used to the dualshock. Now when I play on PS3 I said A instead of X.

If it makes you feel any better, I stil refer to the Xbox's left/right bumpers/triggers as L1, L2, R1, R2. And I still call the buttons triangle circle square X. I don't have a PS3, but I all but lived on my PS2. Some things just won't change. Especially when the control layout is virtually the same (same analogs, just an *improved* shift in placement, in my opinion).
I do have issues with the 360 version (like having Dog die and then lean diagonally to talk to me on the road to Lothering...), but I was always under the impression that it was always the console users who complained about the elite PCs getting everything better (Heck, I'm of the same thought myself for a number of games). You mean to tell me that PC users complain about getting the short end of the stick?? PC users really DON'T have everything better!?
I do believe my world has turned inside out.

I noticed when I switched over from being a PC gamer to a console gamer. I have hard time grasping simple fractions now.

I recently replayed DA:O on the PS3. Having played it on the PC before on thing became evident: the PS3 is nothing more than a sloppy port with badly adapted controls. Worse, while the PC graphics are simple and not very advanced, and thus a PS3's hardware is more than capable of rendering them, the graphics look WORSE on the console. This is just outrageous. If you can't adapt a game to the platform you are delivering it on, you can't call yourselves true developers. I don't know why but the consoles always get the shaft when compared to PCs. Development happens on the PC, then it is badly ported to consoles. Well, I don't think your fanbase is willing to have that anymore. DA2 is shaping just to be like DA:O, PC getting better graphics (DX11), a different camera, etc...
I urge BioWare to reconsider, unless you want to see the PS3 sales plummeting. The PS3 players have been the developer's sheeple for too long. We demand that this abominable practice of porting everything badly from the PC to PS3 be stopped, and games actually be developed with PS3 in mind.
To PC gamers, please do not flame this thread. Just try to imagine how you'd feel if you always got sloppy ports instead of same plaftform development you always get. Support our cause if you find it in your hearts.
Are you suggesting they make the PC version worse, just because the PC can do things (like DX11) that the PS3 cannot?

No. I'm suggesting they make the PS3 version better. Proper optimization would go a long way. Read above post. :happy:Nighteye2 wrote...

Yeah, because it's totally not like PC users ever get really **** ports from the consoles or anything, or don't get games series completed / continued or anything (Halo I'm looking at you).
That said, todays day and age there are three major players that game companies have to develop for. It must be very hard as a developer these days to create an equal game on such variable hardware with such variable control methods and for the most part, companies generally get it pretty right.
With THAT said I'm still not sure what the issue is here, if games are developed with DX11 etc to take advantage of new technologies and hardware - this is a good thing. Holding them back on one platform for the development of others seems a little weak of an argument and NOT good for the development of games as a whole.

Sure, I'm all for DX11 as that is a platform specific improvement which plays for a platform's strengths( PC in this case)
I would like to see them also improving things specifically in the PS3, not stopping improving things in the PC.

at least you've switched to sayin "I" rather than "we"
anyway, I, as a console player, would like to see bioware stick with their better-than-some-worse-than-others graphics and continue to focus their energy and money on making some of the best stories in the video game market. if you want a game with top of the line optimized console graphics, look elsewhere my friend.

But guess people will grasp at straws just to critizice, wathever. Can we have this thing locked now, since people would rather stereotype everyone ("graphics ****", etc...) without reading what I write. I AM NOT TALKING ONLY ABOUT GRAPHICS BUT EVERY ASPECT OF THE GAME.

Exactly. I own one and I don't play ANY BioWare games in it. they have too much problems and issues... Saves problems, freezes, crappy engine ports because of crappy hardware (powerfull, but Crappy).
we should just let this thread die..
