Edit. Just to add that a N7 logo would look rather tidy.

It seems like no matter your decision at the end of ME2, Shepard is setting up for greater independence from TIM and Cerberus. Also, even with full upgrades the Normandy gets pretty beat up and will be in need of repairs, so I wouldn't be at all surprised to see a freshly repainted SR-2 in ME3 without any Cerberus (or Cord-Hislop if you prefer) logos.
Bah that isn't true, you could easily make it so Shep is ok with still working with TIM. Anyway I think something is going to need to happen to explain how a potential inactive Geth or unbirthed Krogan don't remain on the Ship. So I think at some point we're going to get grounded and by time we get back to the ship, anyone with said situation won't have them on the ship no more. Way I see it, it has to either happen in the upcoming bridging DLC or right at the start of ME3. Anyway I am hoping we DO have an option to stay with Cerberus and so hope that the whole ship repaint thing is all dependent on who you are allied with.
That is all well and good but painting it black won't really help now will it. Think about it, your flying through space, you can see stars ahead of you then for a moment they vanish (as the black normandy flies between you and them) then appear again. Either that other ships pilots Mark I Eyeballs need looking at or he just saw somethingInteractive Civilian wrote...
Hopefully they'll do something smart, like paint it black. If it's main strength is stealth, and the only way to detect in open space is by using Mark I Eyeballs, then it might be prudent to make it harder to see.
Got to say the 'Mark I Eyeballs' comment did make me laugh though

I'd just splash a bit of black paint over the cerberus logos if you split up with TIM and get on with it. Going back to being an Alliance ship would be too easy, and Shep's got more important things to worry about than the paint job.

I'm aware of that, since my Shepards tend to run renegade. My point was even if Shepard still accepts support from Cerberus, he's pretty much leading the charge now. I think the line was something to the effect of "you brought me back to fight the Reapers, and that's exactly what I am going to do. You can follow or get out of my way."

Cerberus goon
I take offense at that. I prefer the term "Cerberus Commando".

It is likely that it will be changed for both people that support Cerberus (me alone apperantly) and those who go they're own way. Probably to something neutral that does not alighn with any prominent party, like the SR-1's .
The SR-1 was an Alliance vessel

But the paint job didn't point out to being one. It didn't have a single Alliance simbol, not even the Alliance soldier guards in they're armor.

Yes i do hope this is a choice, my Shepherd is an Alliance person. Spectre status i can care less for, its obvious the Council has no respect for Humans.
The council shows massive respect for humans. Even before the events of ME1, they clearly treat humanity as the first of the non-council races - and that's after only 26 years since first contact. There's only been one addition to the council in two centuries, and that was after fighting a decades long war, while humanity got in for fighting one battle.

And my main Shep doesn't give a **** about Alliance and is a Council guy all along. That's why there should be a choice for the players to decide which faction they would like to follow and repaint the Normandy in the chosen fashion (as have been said before, SR-2 needs to be repaired after the Collector base no matter if you had ship upgrades or not).DarthSliver wrote...

If the SR2 returns, I seriously doubt it will be as a Cerberus vessel. Liara being Shadowbroker makes TIM unneeded. I'm betting you'll be getting your intel and funding from her organization in the final chapter, and that the bridging DLC will deal with the Illusive Man screwing Shepard over again in some way, setting it up so that the player won't be working for him at the start of ME3.
Or, if the Reapers just go ahead and attack Earth at the beginning of the game, maybe Shepard is back to officially working for the Alliance/Council. I can't see how anyone could deny that the Reapers exist if the entire fleet parked in Citadel space, and started obliterating Earth.

But YES, I want that Cerberus logo GONE. That is my ship, my crew, and I'm not going to parade around in their colors, especially not my sole survivors. After the damage the Normandy took crashing into the Collector base, we've got to rebuff the paint job anyway. Either let us create our own logo or just black it out.

Id rather stick with cerberus than to go back to being a council suckup. its 1 tiny logo anyway. Honestly tho, I kept the station so I can hide there while the rest of the galaxy can get destroyed.
And people have said *Im* a bad person for liking Cerberus's human supremacy doctrine. Jesus Christ man.

Well, unless there is some kind of active camoflage system, occulting the stars is going to happen no matter what color the ship is. That doesn't mean you should paint it in high contrast (like blocky black and white) to make it even more visible in reflected ambient light, though.Sir Ulrich Von Lichenstien wrote...
