I'm having a ton of trouble navigating the site, mainly trying to understand the buttons next to forum topics and different sections. They have flames on them, are locked, but mostly involve a notepad. Is there a list somewhere I can use to understand what these mean? I basically want to see if I can know where I've posted without going to my profile and checking links.

Regarding the meaning of the signs (someone correct me if I have something wrong):
- the flames mean that the thread has more than 20 answers, I think - basically it shows a popular topic of discussion,
- the padlock means the thread got locked by a moderator and posting is impossible,
- the notepad can have two colors: blue and yellow. Theoretically the blue notepad means you've seen all the posts in the thread and the yellow that a new post has been made, but it doesn't work, so the colors mean nothing,
- the tack in a circle means that a topic is stickied - it will stay on top of the lists of threads.
Regarding the ability to see your posts:
- you can subscribe to a thread by clicking the proper button at the top or bottom of the thread. Afterwards use the Jump to: menu over the forum (it's next to the search function on the grey tab right above the name of the forum) and choose 'subscribed topics' to access a list of the threads you subscribed to. However, the subscription won't point to the place where you finished reading the thread - you'll have to remember on which page you were,
- if you want to see all your posts use the above-mentioned 'Jump to:' menu and choose 'your posts' - it'll give you a list of all the topics you posted in. Again, it won't show you your post, it'll only give you a chance to access the thread without having to look for it (as the links in your profile disappear after a while),
- there are currently four language forums here, so if you post in other language forums you have to choose the proper forum to access the lists (use the drop-down menu right next to the 'jump to:' menu which shows for example 'Forums - English').
Hope this helps.
