Here's how I would ideally like it to play out, broken down into fun categories!
PLOT: I want to story to focus heavily on the Reapers, Protheans, and the other races of the galaxy. The impending threat must take center stage.
SQUAD: Returning squadmembers include those who didn't die in ME1 (VS) and ME2. If there is a good reason for a squad member from ME2 to not be a part of ME3 (I.E. Thane dying of Keplar, or Samara going back to being a Justicar) then as long as it's written well I won't mind. Tali and Garrus must be in the squad though.
COMBAT: ME2 combat all the way. Including how ammo and biotics are implimented.
INVENTORY/ARMOR/WEAPONS: How it was in ME2 was good, but allow for more customization. More armor, more weapons, allow us to add things to our weapons. Also, BRING BACK HELMET TOGGLE!
SQUAD ARMOR: Bring it back.
AREA TRANSITIONS: If you have to have loading screens, don't teleport us to our destination. Going to a new location should require us to run out the airlock. Finishing a mission should first require us to call and get into our dropship before going back to the Normandy.
ENVIRONMENTS/EXPLORATION: Combination of ME1 and ME2. We should get dropped onto a planet, and using the hammerhead, travel to our destination. You still probe the landing zone, but instead of landing RIGHT ON TOP of the final destination, we have to travel a bit to get there IE assaulting a slaver compound, whatever. Let us explore the world for a bit, while still making sure each is unique and interesting.
MISSIONS: Bring back the COMM. Emails are boring to read for EVERY mission. Its okay sometimes, but I much prefered Hackett talking to us over the comm.
LOYALTY MISSIONS: In ME1 all the squad still had their own personal problems to sort out, in ME3 bring loyalty missions back to this sort of... priorty. Give all of our squad a personal mission or two to complete throughout the game. These should obviously be important and not trivial. EG: Finding a cure for Thane's illness which will allow him to live longer.
