A way more agressive way to state what I think... but I agree.... on a less confrontational tone

Bioware/EA doesn't know how to get it right with fluff content.
I'll check it out and see if they've learned.

Mostly expected is just some extra colors... same skins
At their best they prolly add just another cool jacket.. as a means to protect against vaccum.

Anybody here who regularly visited that thread when it was about that could perhaps make some fairly accurate predictions?

I was just wondering if anybody who frequented the original official Alt App Pack #2 thread could make some predictions as to what we might see based on most commonly suggestions. I only dipped in and out, and about the only two that I recall seeing as rather common suggestions were "proper armour outfits for Miranda, Samara and Jack" and "tinfoil miniskirt for Miranda"

i saw fixing legions hole, and seeing tali's face, and proper armor, and never saw one for miranda in a tin foil skirt

Meh. If some people feel that a new/better outfit for their favorite character adds enough to their experience that it's worth $2 then who are you to say otherwise? At least 3+ new costumes is better than 80MSP for freakin' black dye in Fable III...

tali's face doubt it... not impossible but highgly unlikely.
Proper armor... would cost too much and EA wants to squeeze every suc... I mean every customer for all the pennies they can.
Fixing legions hole by just completing the N7 half chest piece he has sounds very much like Garrus's problem.
Not sure really.

You rather have 3 new sets that they added colors on their own?... or a black dye that allows you to customize your character on your own.
Hell just the dye alone gives you more polisibilities than 3 sets of costumes.
Add black dye to.
Everything white on grunts armor, leaving it a black, with blue lights...
Add black to all the blue steel on new garrus armor, making it black and blue neon lights.
Add black to Legion.
Add Black to tali's ....cloth
I can keep going.
Add black to just the chest piece of a character.
A dye is worth far more than a set of clothes. A dye has far more combinations.

This post is stupid. For one, BioWare has already shown on countless occasions that they provide the best content possible for their fans. Its rare they they try and cheat their customers. Even the first Alternate Appearance pack was quite a good value for its cost. They completely reworked Garrus' outfit to repair the hole and changed his head piece too. That alone was worth the money, imo. The other two were just added bonuses. LOTSB must have cost a small fortune to create as well, granted it wasn't the cheapest DLC, but it was far from not being worth the price.
I personally think they will give us something good for this pack, especially considering they had a thread up for suggestions as well as a long gap of time between DLC. I'm hoping for a repaired Legion, decent armor for Samara/Morinth and maybe one for Mordin as well. ^^

No, it's the same. It's a lazy method of cutting away essential things from the atmosphere of the game, yet at the same time miniscule in technical difficulty, and then force everyone to buy a DLC (that may or may NOT be 2$, or their respective US market value, depending where you live). And having a major character look like an idiot throughout the entire game is exactly forcing the player to buy a DLC... a single 3D model and texture.
Really?

If these have already been done for ME3, then it's not too implausible that they could convert them for ME2.
That way they could pull a fast one and class it as bridging DLC.

Seriously, **** like this should be released for free or baked into the Cerberus Network card. New weapons and armors too. I wont buy any pack not giving me "RP" or "something to do". I only get a weapons pack if I have points over and I would never, I think buy a appearance pack.
Game creators these days gone greedy! I remember playing Age of Mythology, they made a new campaign and gave it away for free. I remember Witch Wake to NWN! It was free for long until Wizard cried and they had to drop the fan based project it was I believe. Then they tossed it into this crappy Kingmaker pack with a few modules to NWN. Most of them was worthless yet people bought em.
NWN was such a game that would not been off healthy with DLC's since people, fans, supporters, community made much better stuff then the creators themself did. Imagine Mass Effect with a similar tool as Aurora? It would not be economically for Bioware or EA. No offense, these people make great games but when you lose focus on the gaming experience and rather toss out DLC's who add nothing to story, depth or feel you lose your "soul".
I would love a company who really cut the crap and stop doing DLC's and release expansions I can freaking buy in a store. Kingmaker was boring but atleast it was sold in a store. Atleast release the damn DLC's collected on 1 disc in a box in a store or online in stores.
Least its not a "Total War: Empire" thingy "Yeah we will ship multiplayer campaign on release", what did people get? A buggy game without multi-campaign.
Sorry for the rant, I love Mass Effect and that is why I rant! Its love-rant!

Probably explains why NWN2 and Dragon Age's toolsets are retardedly user-unfriendly now. Rather than make a game with a toolset that allows players to create their own content and do so better than Bioware itself FOR FREE, better to make it next-to-impossible to use unless you're pretty much gifted with in-depth knowledge and experience in messing with game systems.

Also, this post is so chock full of deluded brown-nosing goodness it's hilarious. Bioware has a habit of shafting its fans when it comes to content these days, sorry to inform you of that. Or did you miss the numerous examples of it in ME2?

Just a hint, you can only push your fans so far, yes even YOU Bioware. Selling content that should have been in the game proper (Shadowbroker anyone? Fixed armor for Garrus anyone?) is bad form and sooner or later it's going to bite you, hard.

Indeed, I seen servers close themself down since they could fiddle around with Aurora toolset and script in it but when they started up NWN2 they cancelled projects. Tons of servers kept to NWN1 cause it was to much of a fuss to use the tool Obsidian had in their game, leased out by Bioware to them.
Not to be a ****** but most DLC's are just added junk. Like people buying a god damn "diffrent" looking mount in MMO games for bunch of cash.
Mass Effect is an awesome game, I don't want to be rude either to the guys and gals making these "minor" DLC's but they are nothing that special and pity they cost. Pretty much as you say, some people out there are creative gods at making free fan made material that is so damn good. Where do these people get all the time from?
Also, these things as someone said should be in game or already be free with for example the Cerberus Network I say.

Actually, I think the issue is with Microsoft, not BioWare. I remember reading a piece on why Valve hasn't updated Team Fortress 2 on the XBox 360 and it had something to with Microsoft only allowing a certain amount of free DLC for some reason.Winterfly wrote...

Honestly what is really annoying are those armour/weapons packs which cannot be used due to the fact there are no new stories and i do not want to replay the game just to see the geth shotgun...they should add new weapons in the actual story DLC like they did with the Locust in the Kasumi DLC..weapons and armour on their own are obviously not logical since you will not use it at all..

All DLC is stored on MS's servers*, servers cost money to run, bandwidth is expensive, staff require paying etc.kregano wrote...

Pretty much MS lose money when the DLC is for free. And they make money (no idea of the percentage) when someone buys some paid DLC. More paid DLC equals more money to offset costs.
*For 360 DLC anyway, PC DLC would be storedon EA's servers and EA would bear the costs in that case.

Just because the DLC is really good, it doesn't mean that "it should have been in the game, waaa", either.
I'm sure everybody, including myself, would like to get more for less, but trying to construct an objective argument for why you should get X for free is always doomed to fail. Pay up or pipe down...

Really?
Miniscule in technical difficulty? Garrus' and Jack's alt outfits were more than just simple recolors and both required new models to be created. Thane's was really the only one that was a bit lazy. How can you compare completely new character models and artwork to a simple little RGB value of the most used color from the previous game being tossed into a dye pack and sold for 80MSP.
And how was the Alt Appearance Pack #1 "essential"? I certainly didn't think any characters looked "ridiculous" throughout the game without it. In fact, with how most people complain about Jack and Thane's sunglasses, it's the Alt Appearance Pack itself that makes characters look ridiculous. I actually like Garrus' default armor and leave him in it, even with the pack, because I like the color of his blue armor better. See how that's kind of a matter of personal taste, and not an essentiality. If some people are so bent out of shape about a little damage to Garrus' armor that they feel the Alt Appearance Pack is an absolute necessity, then they have themselves to blame, not BioWare.
thepiebaker wrote...

Really? I guess I hadn't noticed since the other three dyes were all crap that no one wanted like turquoise and neon pink that were just used as filler to pad out the pack.
