@MajesticJazz: They are under the impression that releasing them three at a time will make them more money. And Grunt's not even that popular compared to, say, Legion and Mordin. Really, are you seriously gonna get cranked up over a 2-dollar gimmick?

True, it would benefit EA's wallet to do that but there is no guarantee that there will be a 3rd, 4th, or even 5th alternate appearance pack.

Remember when Bioware said that they had like 1-2 years worth of DLC content for Dragon Age: Origins?

Point is, there is a great possibility that this could be the last alt pack because it has the chance of not selling and since this industry has became all about the profits, then Alt Pack #2 could be the last leaving us with characters like Mordin/Jacob etc not having a 3rd armor set.

This is why I believe they should have given ALL of the squadmates a 3rd appearance in the first pack and ALL squadmates a 4th appearance in the 2nd pack and so on. With this pattern everyone is happy and there is a greater chance of it selling more which would benefit EA.

Bioware in 2011 is not the same Bioware we knew back in 2002.....

That is the problem with us videogamers, we are too passive, too niave, and just generally weak consumers. We have this philosophy that we should just be happy and take what is given to us because what is given to is is better than nothing. That is our problem and the publishers knows this. They know that they can make certain moves that will generally cheat the consumer, but we'll still fall for it because "we are happy to get something".

Call me a complainer or whatever you want to label people who do not willingly bow down and accept anything because we "are happy to get something". Technically I am a customer and I have the right to voice my opinion when I feel like a product isn't living up to it's full potential. If that makes me a whiner then I guess that is what I am. But please do not act like we as Bioware fans or videogame fans in general have to just accept everything for the simple basis of us to be just happy to have something.

*gasp*

You mean to tell me that BioWare, a business, is trying to make money? Say it ain't so!

Honestly, do you have any idea the backlash they would've suffered had they waited and released an all-encompassing Alternate Appearance Pack with one alternate outfit for each squad member and priced it at $8? I can hear the complaints already... "Eight dollars for different outfits!? Are you kidding? That's how much we paid for all of LotSB!"

$2 for three outfits is a much easier sell, they can get them out quicker, it's less of a financial risk for BioWare and it allows you--the consumer--to choose which packs you want to spend your money on instead of being forced to drop $8 on the whole thing even if you only like one character.

Jazz, after all the whining and complaining that takes place on these forums, with people DEMANDING more DLC and more Alt. Appearance packs, I can't believe you people will whine some more when Bioware finally delivers. Sure, it wasn't the package you wanted, but after the first pack of costumes sold so poorly, I'm surprised they did it again.

I won't buy a crap product, no. But I will spend two dollars every once in a while for the lulz.

Better I buy three goofy new outfits than a cheeseburger at McDonald's.

Oh you mean like most consumers everywhere? Or just like most voters everywhere? You just described most people in general. It's not like we are throwing ourselves at Bioware's feet praising them for this. It is just a nice little extra that some people will buy and most people won't. That's the beauty of being a consumer, you can choose.

But just to massage your ego. Yes having a 3rd set of armor for everyone in one pack would be ideal. But it didn't happen that way. It's not like their were riots in the streets over it. Your general attitude seems to suggest that you believe this will sell well. However in all likelyhood this won't sell very well, which is a bummer for me because I would love a pack 3 and 4 to get everyone in my squad a new set of clothes. But I refuse to be unreasonable about a situation merely because it isn't ideal. I start chiming in when situations are unfair or underhanded or prohibitive. You appear to complain because things aren't suited to your tastes.

I love that people wanted Miranda to have armor for so long, and now when it happened, people are complaining about her getting armor.

That argument works when we're talking about the value we get for a game, but when we're talking about DLC, something they don't have to make, it doesn't work so well.

Passivity, naivete, or any other word you call it doesn't have anything to do with it. I don't truly have an argument for why the 3 outfits shouldn't cost 2 dollars. It comes from a gut feeling, but that isn't really an argument.

Its a product, not a service. You like it or not. Thats why I read reviews about games before buying them.

Actually I was never in favor of these packs being released with just two squadmates at a time. When the very first one was released, I was confused as to why Bioware just didn't give all the characters a 3rd appearance, I mean, it is just a reskin.

As for me, in general, I am just a very cerebral consumer. I like to speak with my money and show my appreciation with my money. I don't care if this pack was 30 cents, if it is not what I like, I will not make the purchase. This goes back to what I said about gamers (in general, not just Bioware/ME gamers) are very naive and generally poor consumers (in terms of decision making). We would buy something just for the sake of fanboyism/fangirlism but yet we want to know why we don't get much innovation. Just take the Call of Duty series or the Madden NFL series as an example.

Again, call me a complainer or whiner, I don't care. I have the right to speak my mind. It is funny, when people praise Bioware nobody calls them butt kissers or anything like that but whenever someone has a negative opinion, they are complainers.

Just wait.  Maybe we will get to see Tali's face in Mass Effect 3 and you know everybody is going to complain about it even though everybody wanted to see her face in the first place.

Hey, Jazz, if I thought the packs were crap, I wouldn't buy them. But they seem okay to me. I was one of the people fussing about Miranda's catsuit, anyway, so it'd be hypocritical for me to whine some more when we finally get armor for her.

I actually kind of like it when the devs put out stupid stuff like this, since they know it won't be too popular. Most people don't bother with the alt. outfits.  Me?  Color me entertained.

Maybe give her bikini armor to quiet people on both sides of the aisle. :D

I  liked Grunts armor as it was but from what I can tell this new set looks kool too.  Tali default emvirosuit was cool but I look forward to seeing what her armor looks like.  I'm sure Miranda will havea skin tight armor type but just so long as she has a decent helmet I'll be happy.

Overall, I'm pretty pleased with the teaser shown above.

But there are Miranda fans, like the ones in the Miranda topic in the characters forum, who have panic attacks if Miranda's ass is mentioned...a metal bikini would give them a heart attack.

Can't please everyone.

Though I am still annoyed they seemingly forgot Jacob existed and left him as the only LI without an AA.

I wouldn't worry about it, mrsph--if this sells well enough, they'll do another one. Although, I do love Jacob's loyalty outfit (even if it is a wee bit tight on him).

I  can see it now,

Holiday season, late 2011,

"ME3 sales fell sharply as "legions" of fans died at the sight of the character Miranda in a metal g-string which put them in cardiac arrest.  Alliance officials could not be reached for comment.  Commander Shepard was asked for comment and (s)he replied simply, "This is my facorite game on the Citadel"."

Alternate Appearance packs are very quick to make compared to full-fledge DLC. So I'm pretty sure they will easily make a profit to justify another.

Also, why to people say Kasumi and Zaeed won't get one because they are DLC? They could release a $1 Alternate Appearance Pack just for them, half the price because only 2 characters and you bought the squadmates in the first place. They would have another costume and won't alienate anyone, everyone's happy.
