Well, after doing a quick number crunch, we're talking roughly $34-6 for a grand total of four actual missions (Zaeed and Kasumi's loyalty quests, Overlord and LotsB), a handful of random assignments (a dozen or so I think, give or take), a few of weapons, two full-armors and I think two or three armor sets. Oh, and one outfit per team-mate excluding Zaeed and Kasumi.

..That's half the price of the game and it's just fluff. LotSB is the longest mission and even then that's about as much as one of the main campaign missions. Overlord is almost as long, and Zaeed and Kasumi's missions are over in no time. For that kind of money you should be getting an Expansion with an entire extra campaign like Throne of Bhaal was for Baldur's Gate 2.

And, when viewed as a single entity, the ME2 DLC is about the same amount of content as an expansion like Throne of Bhaal.

The difference? ME2 lets you pick and choose the content you want.

HOW DO YOU KNOW

Don't tell anyone, but I live under Mary Kirby's desk. Its a secret. Chris Priestly isn't supposed to know.

I just stay down there half the time with Sheryl Chee bringing me food and drink to sustain me.

David Gaider gives me daily high fives(don't ask how), Mike Laidlaw checks to make sure my internet connection is up to speed, and Christina Norman lets me fiddle around with the games pre-release, HENCE my knowledge of upcoming DLC packs. Note that I said "packs". As in plural. As in more than one. Oh yes.

The other devs also pitch in, but its Mr. Priestly I have to be wary of. He's a nice man, but if he catches me I'll be sent off to the nearest psych ward.

Luckily for me, Stanley Woo is my lawyer.

And yes, none of the above is true. I just let my mind wander for a minute there. Carry on.

;)

Oh wow. That looks....fantastic. All three of those outfits look BAMF.

1. My favorite and primary LI(Tali) gets a shiney new outfit that I don't have to use on the FPS-killing Texmod.

2. I can romance Miranda now without feeling like I'm falling for blatant fanservice.

3. Grunt looks pimp.

What's not to like?

Uh.. No. Not at all, in fact. Throne of Bhaal is more like each of the main campaign's leading quests being longer than the Lair of the Shadow Broker, with there being four, or five main campaign quests (one for each Bhaalspawn), some of which can even be twice as long as that. During all of this there's multiple armors, weapons, sidequests, sidequests to CREATE weapons and armor, and a sub-plot wherein you develop your character via multiple Trials after defeating each Bhaalspawn, PLUS the final boss battle with multiple endings.

Not to mention just procuring these items and armors is a trek in and of itself as opposed to them being dropped in your lap, and you have your very own pocket plane where you can store them so your inventory doesn't become overcrowded.

On top of this, there's also Watcher's Keep, a multilayered dungeon with several more hours of gameplay, items and sidequests, and yet ANOTHER big boss.

So no, the real difference here is that Throne of Bhaal actually gives you something for the money you spent on it. Every single one of the DLCs made up as an accumulated package for Mass Effect 2 doesn't even measure up to more than 1/7th of what Throne of Bhaal provided.

I'd like to see new outifts for Zaeed and Kasumi, but i doubt they'd waste their time if only so many people have those characters.

Why do people keep saying this?! Zaeed and Kasumi DLC, so they won't be in ME3, they won't get costumes, etc. This will only come true if people like you keep saying this.

Hence, my saying that I doubt they'd waste their time giving them alternate costumes.

I'd like to see them somehow in ME3. Especially Zaeed. He was one of my favorite characters.

Wow, what an interesting and thought-proving post. You've really brought me around to your way of thinking through your post that seems to be related to nothing more than your own sense of inferiority.

As an addition, I see that instead of actually responding to posts that counter your own views, you instead seek to twist the words of a Bioware employee for your own benefit. classy.

Did you ever play Throne of Bhaal? You speak as if you didn't. Your comments baffles me, proclaiming Throne of Bhaal was some DLC worth max 2 hours of gameplay. It was maybe the cheap ending of Baldurs Gate, not a Baldurs Gate III but it clearly was "not only some" DLC. Had it been that big and that cheap I would freaking say Bioware is nuts and not thinking about their economy at all.

$5? NO. apperance pack 1 was 160 bioware point ($2). so this one will be the same price. I bought all of DLC if you ask me.

They mean that because you can't buy just 160 points, if you don't want anything else the pack effectively costs more.

there's no point in debating with single-minded zealots like terror_k, gleym etc - all you get is a headache, i should know i've "countered" them many times with reason, logic etc. but when you have your anti-me2 "religion" on your side, all the logic and reason in the world won't convince you, seemingly. plus i was being facetious - sorry if that didn't come across explicitly enough in text for you... :pinched:

I am soooo glad that Miranda finally got armor!

But thing is... now that I think about it, her latex suit kinda matched up well with her character, now that she lost all that hawtness... meh...

And, with the new costume, Tali is twice as hot as Miranda, imo, lol.

Grunt looks like the most awesome duck-pimp eva.

They should have had these kind of things in the original game. Both outfits that are in there at present are mainly just some re-colouration of the original outfit. Where appropriate a specific "armour type" outfit for each one would be nice as well. Not "forced" on one to wear but so that you can chose to wear it if you'd prefer that. Either as the "unlock" option or for the get go as an alternative "armour" type.  As at the moment one doesn't even has that choice.
Which I very much hope, if they stick with the unique look approach in ME3, they will implement in ME3 and make each individual unique outfit also uniquely different within a characters own set.

While I personally don't particular like Jack and I'm not using her too often (exceptions include the derelict *beep*) as I like her fully developed shock-wave, her "outfight" fits her character way better then a bulky armour would (in my opinion), that would just make her look out of place. In terms of "realistic" she is a super biotic, even if she hasn't officially got the barrier skill that should give her plenty of protection.

Anyway ... AAP2 ... I haven't bought any of the other equipment packs with the exception of the firepower pack (which is nice addition overall) Miranda's look good with Talis and Grunts ... umm they look tooo similar to their old ones (minus the "sunglasses" for Grunt). However I think that this AAP comes a bit too late overall. While I do play ME2 from time to time again...ish, the majority of my play throughs are done for at the present. So for 1 playthrough any equipment pack isn't really viable. Even with a proper DLC pack coming and the subsequent playthroughs for my "Important" Sheppards ... still wouldn't be enough.

I highly doubt that anyone here is actively anti-ME2. Sure, we disagree with parts of it, but not all of it. In regards to the costumes for ME2 squaddies though regardless of how you feel about them - pro or anti - they go completely against what was established in the first game. It makes no sense to have everyone running around in armour in the first game, yet only Shepard and a few others seem to think it's a good idea in the second.

What "debating" and what "logic and reason" exactly? A few pages ago in this very thread myself and a good half a dozen others came up with several reasons why most of the standard ME2 outfits such as Miranda's and Jack's are completely retarded in the Mass Effect universe, and you just completely ignored them and disappeared from the conversation, only to appear again now to make snide comments and little more.

You've offered absolutely no logic or reason beyond your own preference for over-the-top style over substance as to how said outfits can even work in the ME universe, and I wouldn't be surprised if you're countering the real logic and reason coming from the other side merely to argue because God forbid there should be any flaws in your precious Mass Effect 2. Even a lot of pro-ME2 people I've seen on these forums can at least admit that the outfits were retarded from a practical standpoint, even if they preferred the general gist of individual outfits concept-wise.

Yes, I'm one of those who prefer an individual look for team members, but disagree with several of the available outfits from a practical standpoint. As such, I very much appreciate Miranda's new armor but I still don't like the fact no one's got a helmet when walking around in space.

I really don't understand why people don't get that believability in things we have on-screen all the time is a big issue. Give them helmets, give them kinetic fields, anything, just don't let them walk around in space with exposed skin. Even if you like it (which I don't - individual outfits are possible with a more believable style) that over-the-top comic book style is cool only if you add a modicum of common sense to the mixture. Otherwise it will only make people groan.

As for the reception of the AAP. I don't think I've ever seen so many instances of "Miranda looks awesome" posted in two days' time. 'Nuff said.
