And I like that you still insist your opinion is the majority when the only other person on your side of the argument in this thread is somebody who admits they prefer style over substance, and even they're now starting to admit that combat-protection aside the offending squaddies could in fact do with some space-worthy gear or variations on the gear for dangerous places so long as they remain personalised.

so you managed to dredge up 3 supporters each with a contribution of c.4 words each. at least they got their spelling right... not to mention that a specific topic is likely to attract the few bothered enough by the issue to post there - moths to flame, right? or should that more correctly be: flies round (bull)****. <_<

Also, your complaining is almost pointless. How often to the helmets even come into play in ME2? And how often to they come into play when you actually have a good amount of dialogue? The Migrant Fleet (where it makes a lot of sense, may I add) is about the only real contender, since almost everywhere else has barely any dialogue and is mostly about action during those moments (such as the N7 missions on hazardous worlds, The "dormant" Collector vessel, on the outside TSB's ship, etc.). The helmets only need come into play when they need to, not all the time.

they weren't a factor in ME2 precisely because no-one gave a crap about them until the dlc armour issue came up with the preorder stuff and then it was all negative, lest you forget.

Finally, for the record, I personally have been against this since before the game even came out, and I've seen lots of others saying the same thing. This is hardly a recent complaint. If it was, Miranda probably wouldn't be in armour in this new pack.

you've been banging your particular drums forever, occasionally you get a few supporters, most of the time you don't - does it make you right? - no.

Hey, I love Miranda's new armor. I really did not like seeing my second in command prance around in high heels and a skin tight cat-suit. The other outfits are still there for all who want them, and I think Miranda looks badass in armor. No one is forcing the new APP2 on you.

If they'd change the stats I'd feel temptation to buy them.

Someone here is thinking that even giving an options is character degrading, disgusting and unfeminine though...

you seem to be missing the part where all the exciting, dramatic moments tend to take place in such environs... as befits the nature of the science fiction game.

There's hardly any dialogue it the stiuations were helmets would be required, I'd much rather have a properly attired squad for the small sacrifice of not seeing their faces once every so often.

Not all people need constant <3 posts to feel validated.

While the "exposed skin in space" thing annoys me a little sometimes is not really as grave as a lot of people make it seem. "mass effect field did it" covers a lot of ground. Plus you're always inside of some structure wich can be protected by some kind of field as well. In the case of strage planets, well, I'll need a complete chemical and physical analysis to show me if the planet is hazardous enough to kill.

Oh, and the new armor pack looks good. Grunt looks a little silly on the picture though, maybe it looks better on the game cinematics.

Miranda's new outfit implies that it's not possible for a woman to be both feminine and able to hold her own in a fight. I wont be using it, because i feel it strongly betrays her characterision. It doesn't just degrade her, but all women, everywhere.

And what about the numerous ass shots? Weren't they a bit degrading?

I find it interesting that the only people that seem to talk about her ass are the ones that dislike the outfit.

When i look at Miranda, i see a strong, independent, beautiful woman that revels in her position of authority and cares deeply about her appearance. But at the same time, her white outfit gives off an air of vulnerability; which is fitting as despite her confidence she has issues with her creation.

When i look at Miranda i see that. Not " a piece of ass".

I guess it's just a shame that not everybody is as enlightened as i am in regards to equality and perception of women.

I dont care about what she wears, I would just like some realism when we go into the vacuum of space.

Please tell me you're not serious. Have you ever had to wear anything latex or skin tight? It is horrible! It's hot, restrictive, and very uncomfortable. I'm not even going to mention the heels. OUCH! No way could I wear anything like that without falling flat on my face. That's how I know that Miranda's outfit was designed by the boys for the boys. Besides, it just too 1960's Avenger's for me. Emma Peel. Look her up sometime.

Agreed.I don't mind her white/black suit on the ship but during battle,it makes no sense for her to battle against the major threats and survive with minimal damage.Squad members need to wear some sort of armor that fits with the character class.Thane doesn't need a buff armor but something more stealthy to help him use his agility and speed to his advantage from being an assassin.

Indeed. Unfortunately, the vast majority of male ME2 players are included in "not everybody" and I suspect the character designers were as well. I can't say that I see anything particularly wrong with Miranda's new armor.

This... She can wear latex whenever on the Normandy or hospitable grounds ( hell, I like her latex costume  ), but in vacuum, she betters wears some armor... I mean, real armor.

I've never worn anything quite like Miranda's catsuit, but i spent quite a bit of time during my naval training underwater, often in a wetsuit. Maybe i'm just weird, but i actually find clothing that is that tight to be quite comfortable, and practical when taking on physical tasks. I have no idea what material Miranda's clothes are made out of, but it being the future i'm sure that it's not as uncomfortable as our present-day equivalents.

I'm not exactly an expert in women's clothing, but her heels don't look all that bad to me. I see far worse every Friday night in Soho.

If it was a burqa or something, I'd see your point. But as far as I can tell, it's just practical armor, akin to Femshep's own. Is that so bad?

It lacks the chicness and feminity of her default attire. It simply being there as an extra is fine, but if Bioware decide to go this route with squad attires in ME3, it will imply that it's just not possible to be feminine and tough at the same time.

I don't like that message.

So if my boobs aren't hanging out of my clothes then i am not feminine? Such a charming femininity concept

Her chest is very amply covered, providing only the meerest hint of cleavage.

It's entirely inaccurate to suggest that anything is "hanging out". Gabriella was just being catty in engineering, and i think the same can be said of you, here.
