In pandering to the simple tastes of the vocal minority, Bioware have unwittingly sent out a very disturbing message.

When Bioware panders to hormonal teens who like butt-shots and skintight outfits with fanservice akin to Megan Fox's pointless presence in the Transformers movies: It's unique and personalized characterization.

When Bioware responds to the multiples of complaints from fans of the previous Mass Effect game insisting that a catsuit and breathermask in outer space makes no sense: It's pandering to a minority.

I love internet logic.

By the way, Val, so if you, with your naval training, decided to go into battle like this, it'd be perfectly fine and alright, because that's just you being unique and cool, right?

No it wouldn't. I had to wear a uniform.

Having been in a situation where my clothes are regulated like that, if i was ever recruited into a team like Shepards i wouldn't be adversed to swapping practicality for personal style, to an extent.

I don't think that she looks ridiculous at all - but we've already been over my highly enlightened viewpoint and attitude.

Style, verve, chicness... yes, i would very much consider these things a part of her personality.

Explain to me how wearing combat clothing when necessary makes her lose any of those attributes.

Because "combat armour" isn't a necessity. I've already been over my thoughts on this. Her default outfit is perfectly fit for a combat engagement on a non-hazardous world.

Obviously she has sacrificed a little bit of practicality for her sense of style. That says a lot about her. Overdoing that wouldn't be a good thing for her characterisation.

So does Jack.

I think Jebel's just worried that Bioware will see sense and put less emphasis on ****** and ass in ME3, thus 'ruining' the game for him I guess.

Hardly. Combat armour isn't essential, and Jack's outfit seems to offer an ease of movement the rest of the squad could only dream of.

Miranda's heels would take some getting used to. That's the only reason i'm willing to concede that it's even slightly impractical.

Val, you are obviously never going to change your mind. I hope BioWare never listens t the likes of you because I am sick of games with overly macho men and overly feminized women with skin tight suits. They make me feel like I should be no older than 14 to play.

Yes. I love how it's apparently "impossible to be tough and feminine" without your ****** and ass hanging out.

What an enlightened bunch.

I'd worry about yourself first: I never mentioned T&A in any post... unlike you I can look past superficialities in appreciating characters. Perhaps that's why you're hung up on the 'simpler' ME1? Simple minds and all that...

Miranda is fully covered. The way that you're misrepresenting her outfit is almost as bad as the way rma is misrepresenting my view.

Wow! This thread sure turned into a battle of the fanboys/girls fast.

My 2 cents, I like the AAP2 and will buy it.

'Superficialities' like wearing clothing and not going into combat in high heels? Beause you seem to be hung up pretty hard on that.

Charming. And totally inaccurate.

BioWare created Miranda a certain way. I happen to very much like that way, and don't see why they should change her just to make those of you that can't avert your eyes feel better.

I am very much for all manner of characters in ME universe. I'd like as diverse a range of personalities as possible.  You're making it sound as though i want to Mass Effect to become Duke Nukem or something, which couldn't be further from the truth... in fact, you appear to be the more restrictive here.

Or maybe they are making this armor for a more practical reason.

My big thing is just her going out into space with it. If they had added like a helmet and made her default suit airtight when in space, I'd have no problem with that.

Uh, Val..they haven't changed her. They added an outfit for her character and you have an OPTION to use it or not. Your Miranda will look the way you want her to in your playthroughs via your own choice. You're not being forced to put that outfit on her, so what is the problem?

I think hes worried that ME3 will completely do away with the kind of stuff she wore in ME2, and replace it all with armor.

Hilarious. You're calling me intolerant, but are suggesting that others should refrain from engaging me.

What are you going to do next, tell me to get to the back of the bus?

OH FFS, you just can't get it into that head of yours can you? Image IPB

So you don't want Mirandas new outfit.  Wether you purchase it or not is up to you.  If you don't like it... DON'T F***ING BUY IT! Image IPB  It's not that hard to figure out.

Don't buy it and there you go, Miranda is still exactly the same.

Just because you're too stuck in your own tiny little - "I'm right and you're wrong no matter what!" - world, and you don't like something that a hell of a lot of other people do, it's no excuse to start slagging off people that disagree with you.

Especially when this DLC is not compulsory and absolutley IN NO F***ING WAY changes the game that you currently have for your PC/Xbox.

And yes, I realalise that that may seem a bit hypocritical comming from me, but at least I try and give reasons why I don't like something and try to present alternatives.

You just seem to like bashing other people just for dissagreeing with you over something that doesn't even matter.

I love her armor. She may have been marketed as a femme fatale, but that aspect is absent in-game. She looks like the competent operative she is instead of something created to appease teen boys.

Yes. This is one of my big concerns.

While i'm not going to actively encourage it, if they decided to give all squadmates a special, fully sealed outfit to wear only in hazardous environments, i wouldn't mind. But for regular combat, the things that Samara, Thane and Miranda are currently wearing are great, and simply giving everybody armour in ME3 would be a massive step backwards.
