Tali - Tali never wore armour in my opinion in ME1. I wouldn't call it armour, more like tougher clothing. She is an Engineer so she prefers to travel light. She's also more likely to stay out of fire. That's fine. Since she's joining up for a dangerous mission, she may want to be better equipped. She doesn't have to be since she survived the battles with Saren with no armour, but that option is always there. Now she has that option available to her in the form of light armour. Good choice for ME3 to wear as well.

Miranda - Miranda herself admitted that everything about her is meant to give her an edge. Her smarts, her biotics, her tech skills, her looks, even her choice of dress. I figured that's fine. The option now is available to give her armour over her skin tight catsuit. Since she is the leader of the cell in a very active role, there is a call by some for Miranda to wear protection since she is the leader/Queen of the battlefield/chessboard. So the option is there for her to wear light armour. Looks hot on her still, and it should be adequate for her to wear in combat. She'll lose some of her sexiness, but gains in protection. She can still hit just as hard as she did without it. The only kicker being that I doubt Miranda would want to wear armour while doing deskwork, where her catsuit or the black uniform comes in. Hence I'd be toggling Miranda's clothing constantly. That said, I hope that's what Miranda wears in ME3.

Grunt - Grunt is Grunt. Tough as hell, and has badass armour to boot. My guess, vacuum doesn't do that much damage to krogan skin? They are a very tough species to boot. So now Grunt gets a new armour to boot. He doesn't need it, but it still looks cool. I'd use it.

Visors and scouters, I'm indifferent to.

OK, enough about Miranda.

Does anyone else think that Grunt's visor looks weird?

Visors, in plural, and no. I find them fine. But I'll really judge them in-game.

Val is either a troll or he's insane. Either way, arguing with him is a waste of everyone's time.

He thinks a female soldier putting on stripper boots and exposing her chest before running into a combat situation shows "character" (which is nonsense unless her character is that of an incompetent imbecile), that it's impossible to be "tough and feminine" unless you're sticking your ass out in skin-tight spandex and showing your goods and that giving players the option of putting armor on Miranda is somehow degrading and can be compared to forcing women to wear hijabs. How do you have a rational argument with that?

You sacrifice any perceived high-ground when you make such ridiculous overstatements.

Nobodies chest is exposed, and the way you describe her footwear as "stripper boots" is odd. Many women wear high heels... do you think of all women that enjoy dressing up as strippers?

If you're going to call me insane, you should try harder to hide your obvious deep seeded psychological issues.

Samara? Jack? Ring any bells?

Yes, thigh-high black boots with platform heels are stripper boots. You don't wear something like that to the office...

And no, I've made no overstatements. I practically quoted you verbatim.

EDIT: Just noticed Chris' post. I'll let it drop.

So is Miranda wearing also helmet now?
3rd time I am asking you btw xD

I don't think there is a realistic possibility that Miranda will have a helmet in space missions. If there were, you could be sure they'd have told us, with the hubbub this issue has raised over time.

I agree. I doubt there are helmets. That will be reserved for ME3, most likely.

I've never used the team status screen before. There was no reason to. Now that option has a function - every time I come back from a mission, I'll switch Miranda back to her civilian outfit. Since it's accessible from my terminal, it will take almost no time. Almost as good as having it done automatically.

I'm so much looking forward to making new screenshots.

I was just lurking the forums, when i saw the last few pages of this thread and just HAD to sign up and join in on this conversation.

As I can see where Val is coming from, Miranda is there as a strong willed character able to go in for stylised combat. To take that persona and wrap it up in a protective body armor is quite contradictory.
But with that said, 'wrapping' her up gives her a better angle to something I and alot of others can relate to -

Ieldra2 wrote...
(5) Miranda is introduced as aloof, even abrasive when we meet her first. The armor underscores that image too, and also the "vulnerability under a hard shell" image we get of her in her romance.

I DO see where you're coming from Val but please stop trying to high horse your opinion and cast off everything else as anti-women empowering.

looking foward to it's release, regardless.
poop.

Miranda's always had a helmet.

Its a hairlmet. Like Kaidan's, only more like hair and less like helmet.

Maybe the light are shield emitters to go with the upgraded armor look.

I figured it had something to do with additional armor and protection.

I'll miss the gold highlights from her post-loyality suit either way.

Just be glad you can switch back.

I think a black visor would've gone better with the new outfit, but I guess they want to keep Tali's signature purple scheme somewhere.

I rather like the contrast between the two. Everything black is far too cliche for my tastes.

I don't think of black as cliché. Black fits with any and every color.

Plus, I wanted to see Tali in black. It was one of my suggestions, and others posted similar ones, so I'm glad to see they thought our ideas were good ones.

Wouldn't be able to see much behind a black visor.
Just sayin.
