I'm currently playing through Dragon Age: Origins, and will then play through the Golems of Amgarrak, then Dragon Age: Awakening, and then Witch Hunt.

I want to get the ending in Witch Hunt where you follow Morrigan through the portal, since I know the ending will have an effect on Dragon Age 2 and it sounds like the best ending for my character. Now I read on the Dragon Age Wiki that to get such an ending:

"You have to end the game with Morrigan in love with you. That means you
can't have ended your relationship with her, she needs to have given
you her ring, AND (if they didn't change it) you can't have had the
"sorrow and regret" epilogue ending (don't speak to her @ Denerim before
the final battle)."

I have got Morrigan's approval to 100, she is in love with me, I have her ring and will maintain this relationship until I complete the game.

However due to the game's glitch, I'm also romancing Leliana, and I've heard that it's possible to get both 'happy ending' epilogues where relationships are maintained with both Morrigan and Leliana.

Now that means the 'triggers' for the right ending in Witch Hunt should be there, since Morrigan will still love me. My question is this: will my romance with Leliana (even if I still have the full romance with Morrigan) somehow stop me from getting the right ending in Witch Hunt, or should the game ignore this? I read somewhere that someone romanced Morrigan and then married Queen Anora, and still got the portal-following-ending.

As far as I'm aware, if you're male and have romanced Morrigan, you should be able to follow her.

So the game simply checks whether you still have an 'active' romance with Morrigan, and goes by that?

Don't you have to do awakenings before any dlc?

I said that. Chronologically, you are supposed to play Origins - Golems - Awakening - Witch Hunt.

No romances in either Golems/Awakening though.

You misunderstood. Golems is dlc, aren't you suppose to do awakenings then golem then witch?

OP: Yes. If you don't do Awakening before Golems of Amgarrak, nothing you do in Golems will count.

As far as your Liliana/Morrigan question, you should be fine (although if you'd planned to follow Morrigan from the start, I'm a little confused as to when and why you even messed with Liliana. She's not a casual fling by any means).

No, I don't believe so.  There's a couple of other flags it may look for instead -- either "romance active or still in love" or "in love or still in love."  The "still in love" flag is set if she breaks up with your warden (in all dialog choices but one) if you discuss the dark ritual with her afterwards.

The bugs in WH had more to do with if you loaded your post-coronation save, went to camp, saved there, and then used that save to import into awakening.  The flags were reset in your new save, so the dark ritual was not acknowledged (remember, if you go to camp in your post coronation save to do dlcs or whatever, it's supposed to take place before the dark ritual which is why they reset).

What exactly has to be done so you keep Morrigan without breaking up after giving her the 2nd Grimoire?

At which point in the game do you break up with her?
