Don't you have to upgrade Jack's biotics in order for her to be able to hold the shield? I seem to remember someone telling me this. Somewhere.
Nope, that was just one of the 'speculations' people had when the game first came out. As long as she is loyal she'll be fine. Course upgrading her biotic really isn't hard on a playthrough after the initial one as you have more than enough Element Zero from the start, so if got Mordin already you can just go talk to Jack, investigate about upgrades and job is a good one. Means she has more biotic power for fights, which is always good.
One playthrough away from my 'Insanity worse playthrough (where Shep survives)'
"it will be beauuuuutiful... only an unloyal Zaeed and Kasumi surviving along with Joker

'Default' FemShep ME background but with alteration of the VS being Ashley.
LoyalJacob and Garrus (can't see either of their loyalty missions having anything significant in ME3)
Un-loyal due to mission screw-upThane (not updated), Tali (evidence handed in), Samara (will be completely and utterly dull at the VIP lounge so she leaves without even talking to Shep)
Un-loyal mission not doneZaeed, Kasumi, Miranda, Mordin, Grunt, Jack (hence the earlier italicised comment)
not activated but not sent to CerberusDuh... only one squaddy this could be... Legion
No Ship Upgrades, ship deathsArmor - Jack (obviously)
Shields - Thane (taking Kasumi and Tali to the Occulus fight)
Cannon - Garrus (Guess he didn't finish those calibrations

)
Suicide MissionVents Runner and TL Mordin and Grunt (latter because I want to see what Miranda has to say)
Biotic, Long Walk Team and 2nd TL Samara, Zaeed and Jacob, Grunt = latter 2 dead due to swarm and Grunt not being such a badass Krogan after all
Final Battle Samara and Miranda
Hold the Line team Zaeed, Kasumi and Tali = 3 points = 1.0 average score = 1 squadmate death... adios Tali
So that all means that there is still a sex crazed murderer on the loose without any true knowledge of Shepard, thus just a footnote no doubt in ME3, Kolyat is now an Assassin, Quarians are possibly frelled due to them being in conflict with one another over Rael'Zorahs actions, Miranda's father can continue his dynasty, Vito still has that refinery (well till Zaeed goes try taking it on solo possibly?), Hock still has Keiji's Graybox, Aresh is still possibly looking to restart the Teltin Facility, Uvenk is still alive as is Clan Weyrloc who are looking into a genophage cure so their bloodpack can go nuts and Urdnot has that fool Wreav in charge of them. That screams 'recipe for disaster' to me

Well,
that's what am going for anyway, got to admit I'll be a bit annoyed if these choices don't bite me in the butt

anyone who messes up this badly during their adventures in ME2 deserves to be punished in ME3, BRING IT ON
