What is the deal with the ammo you find? I often find arrows and bolts in multiples, as in Fire Arrow x 19 but they don't seem to run out once equipped. And apparently my archer can shoot something even if I don't put any ammo on him or her. What gives? Am I totally missing something here? To be honest, I don't use much archery but I might if I understood what was going on with the ammo. Do you have to do something to activate their special properties or do they do what they say automatically? And what is the point of having Ice Bolt x 20 versus just having an Ice Bolt in your ammo slot?

When you equip a ranged weapon, you use generic ammo that is limitless. If you want to use the special ammo like fire arrows, you equip it and once it runs out it swaps back to unlimited normal ammo. So basically load up the special ammo for specific fights and unequip it after.

Thanks! Do you need to put the ammo in your quickbar to use it or does it just fire what you have equipped automatically until you run out?

If you have special arrows equiped they will fire automatically until you run out.
