Is it possible to avoid the mention of an Exalted March on Orzammar in the epilogue when doing Dagna/Burkel quests? I know the most obvious answer is not to do any of the quests at all, but I was wondering if there is an alternative. I read somewhere that if you do one but don't do the other there wont be any mention of an Exalted March. I tried DA Wiki but all I could find is that it is only doable if the warden is a mage.

I believe it will be mentioned if you choose either quest, but in doing both, Dagna is spared.

A divine march is mentioned in each.

Dagna: For starting an independat circle.

Burkel: For dying during a riot.

I think it can be done, but the PC Warden has to be a mage AND the PC has to request that Fereldan's circle of magi be emancipated.  If that happens (and the system takes it...this boon is bugged....if Irving aknowledges the boon, then you know you've gotten it), and if you did NOT help Bros Burkel, then there will be no mention of an Exalted March on Orzammar.  Otherwise if you do either quest, there is.

I was afraid of that.

Well on my current playthrough, I sided with mages, removed the curse, destroyed the anvil, and sided with bhelen. If anyone had a similar playthough, did you do those quests or chose not to do them to avoid the Exalted March epilogue?

The only way to avoid those epilogues is to not do the quests.

Double checking I see I am wrong.  Brother Burkel always ends badly (exalted march) but if you don't help him and do help dagna, if the circle has independence, there's not talk of an exalted march.  I guess I need to play mages more often!   There's no mention of Dagna being harmed though. if there is an exalted march.

If you do help Burkel, then there's no mention of an exalted march because of Dagna.

I never talk to Burkel and rarely play mages....  that's my excuse!

In my human Noble playthrough, I helped them both. Got the Burkel bad ending and exalted march mention. But Dagna (referred to as 'mage dagna') was fine. Never mentioned anything about her returning to Orzammar, a march or other bad things on her slide.
