I'm doing the Elf play beginning (with the wedding) and I'm currently in the human castle, and the first trap I've encountered is this statue of a dog at the end of a hallway that spits a fireball at you.

Whenever that fireball pass me or hits my character, the game crashes.

I'm not sure if this is a common error for most users of if its just me so don't get mad at me for posting a repeat, I did search and nothing came up.

I've updated my game to 1.04 to try to fix the issue but it didn't seem to fix it.

please help.

I'm sure someone can help you... you need to give us your system hardware specs, your version of Windows, and let us know if you have any mods installed.

No mods unless you count all the stuff that came with the deluxe edition, its windows 7 64 bit and lets see:

ATI RAdeon 5700 series (can't remember wich one)

AMD Phenom II X3 720 Processor (tri core)

5GBs of Ram (Not sure what type sticks they are)

SB Audigy

and thats all I can think of thats important, hope thats all the info you need.

Thanks for the system specs. May I ask what you have your graphics set to? Resolution and settings under "Video" in the options menu?

EDIT:  You can also get your GPU's exact model number by using the "Configure" button on the launcher screen.  Once you do, I suggest updating to the latest video drivers for your ATI card.

I set the game to the highest quality, and as for updating my graphics card it is up to date since Steam added updating graphics cards to its features.

Can you post your specs, then?

Sorry... my bad.  The dangers of trying to answer two separate threads at once.

Anyway... the best thing to do to start is back off your graphics settings.  Try a lower resolution.  Make sure the ATI software is not set to enchance the game.  See if you can play through the problem spot with the settings turned down.  Then you can tweak them one by one and see how far you can push your system while maintaining stability.

Another thing-- I am a little confused.  These two quotes...

No When I say steam updated it I didn't mean I had the steam edition. I actually got my copy through working at EA, so its a retail version. As for updating my graphics card I still just let steam update it, but It doesn't mean my game is a steam copy.

Okay.  Nonetheless, I'd still suggest trying with lowered graphics.  That may at least help us troubleshoot further.  You can also contact EA directly at support.ea.com.
