She isn't the only path into the city though if i recall correctly. You can get in through smugglers

I am all up for Merril being a LI... And that must be when Witch Hunt is going on.

On topic, my hawke will be male, a warrior, neutral as he is rather values his comrades and family with money and power being a close second. His name shall be... Revan Hawke (Har, har) I need to keep him white though, to keep some resemblence to my female mage warden.

So what will your hawke be like; Will you customize him / her or use the default face? I can't decide that until I see the options. If they're sparse like Mass Effect I may use the default. If I have good choices I'll customize.
Will s/he be a good person, Neutal or Evil? Good. I always do a goodie-goodie hero in my first run.
Will your Hawke be a male or female? Female, always. I keep trying to start a male but I lose interest incredibly quickly.
What will His or Her First name be? I haven't decided. I'm thinking of going with a name beginning with A only because she'll be the oldest and her siblings are Bethany and Carver. >_>
What class will you play as your Hawke. Mage! I really liked mages in DA:O, but I also liked rogues. Carver sealed it for me though, I reeeeeally want him on my team.

EDIT: As for LIs, if at all possible I'm going for Sebastian. If he turns out to not be an option, I'm holding out hope that the mystery companion is Anders. If not, hopefully he's at least interesting (and romanceable). IF NOT, then I guess I'll have to learn to love Varric or Fenris, but right now I'm not impressed with either of them.

I haven't seen a lot of really good warriors lol:

Default Face (The customized ones just never animate as well and never have the same level of detail.)

Male

Good (REALLY good, think Paladin.  My second playthrough on any game that has good/evil choices I always try to play a bad guy...  But I never succeed.  I just end up feeling like a jerk.)

Warrior (Sword and Shield.  I just never can get into other classes...  What does that say about me?)

Romance:  Isabella or Aveline...  depends on who I like more

Name: Well normally I go with 'Jack' or 'Cutlass Jack' (if games allow longer names with spaces) but that might create some confusion with my similarly named Warden who's story I import. So I'm likely going to go with 'Flynn Hawke' which a reversal of the name Hawkins Flynn I had once upon a time in DAOC.

class: Swashbuckling Rogue of course.

Alignment: Chaotic Good

Face: Fully customized.

Plans: My overall plans are to create a swashbuckling/Musketeerish style playthrough. Isabela, of course, is likely to figure prominently in this. The other two default members of my team will be the ones who fit closest to that theme. (Anders, if the rumors turn out to be true, would be a likely canidate, based on one of his possible endings)

All of this is subject to change once I actually play the game proper.
