Isn't that just one of those things that you say though? Like "We may return to a silent protagonist system in future titles" and such? We won't really get both styles of Qunari or silent protagonists.

No, there is a difference between "will no doubt" something and "may" something.

And there's a difference between "yeah, maybe" and "we have no intention to do that."

I think the Qunari look so much more interesting now, so I welcome the change. In DAO, they were just big humans.

The "will no doubt" actually speaks of intent as a maybe says that it isn't decided as of yet.

But you're right, let's be overly antagonistic about this.

Antagonistic? No. Not at all. Realistic.

I agree. When Morrigan talked about Sten like he was some great, god-like creature I was kind of like "Wha?"

When someone speaks of intention of doing something, and you answer that it is BS at once it is kind of antagonistic. But if you can't see this I doubt I can sway you, so let's leave it at that.

Read my post again. There's nothing antagonistic about it. Adults are capable of making statements and having conversations without hurting other adults' feelings.

They've strongly hinted at a Sten appearance in the future so why do you assume they have no intention of showing both styles?

Because Gaider himself has said that if Sten were to make an appearance he would have the grey skin and more apeish physique.

You're going to have to link that for me because I don't recall ever seeing that. He'd have the new physique, sure, but the devs have said he would still have bronze skin and no horns.

Yeah, no presumption of what he says being waste of air to you, not even a hint.

He'd have a different build, sure, but I don't see why they couldn't put him in his original skin-color since they've said that Qunari come in many colors. It is just a texture-swap.

Is there a way to search through posts by a single user?

I remember David Gaider saying that Sten would be different - as in, he body wouldn't be just a body of a taller human again, but of a real Qunari. I don't recall he talking about Sten going to have gray skin, though. If he appeared, that's it.

if you are looking for a dev post, BrotherWarth, you can go to the forum main and find the thread, under the thread is a Bioware button. If you click that you can see the dev posts fior that thread. As for any specific user, not that I know of, but that doesn't mean there isn't :) There is a lot I don't know. lol

You could try and search on the quote in google. The search function is pretty rubbish.

From what I can tell, all they've ever confirmed about Sten is that he would be hornless and "different" in an unspecified way. But considering that they've dismissed the notion that bronze skin qunari don't exist anymore, and that they've said the more important a character is, the closer they'd try to match their DA2 appearance to their DAO appearance, it seems logical that he would retain his bronze skin.

I like how everyone rationalizes this. The truth is Bioware completely changed everything about the Qunari. However Bioware want to explain it that is the truth. Continuity be damned. I am not saying this is good or bad. Just that this is what happened and we have to accept it.

Yes? Of course we've changed how they look. Considering how many things are changing all at once, it's not like up is now down and nothing will ever make sense again, if that's what you're implying. Primarily this is a shift in style... and in the case of the qunari we are also saying (despite the fact that we could have not done so, had we wished) that the old skin color and lack of horns is also part of the lore and you will no doubt see both again.

As long as you explain why Klingons in TOS didn't have head ridges but Klingons in TNG did, I'll be happy.

It's true. BioWare 'completely changed everything' about the qunari.

When we meet them in DA 2, they'll be a race of tiny, peaceful people covered in fur who fix their problems by having communal orgies. The Qun is now based on Rastafarianism.

When we next meet Sten, he'll look like this:

I would really love to see that

I never understood what was wrong with the Qunari of DA:O. And I think there are less people who appreciate the change than actually find it a bit irritating. For me however the new Qunari will always look a bit toonish. A bit like the clone wars cartoon series to the SW movies.

So? Alright so the Qunari don't look it not the same as they did in DA:O. Why is this a big deal? Not only are developers restricted by time and technology to do what they want in a game but designs change and improve over time. Their current design is much more interesting IMO. Bioware is allowed to decide to go in a new direction with if they wish and I don’t think they need to explain every little thing. In case you haven’t noticed the whole style of the game is different and you know what? That’s fine, things don’t need to stay static.
Plus it’s not exactly unusual for different members of the same species have different skin colors.

If we didn't intend to do so, why would we bother saying that they still exist? We're not explaining the darkspawn, after all-- that's simply a new look. You won't see both styles of qunari in DA2, but we fully intend to have hornless/bronze qunari again in the future... and possibly other variations of qunari as well. They possess visual variation the same way humans do.

I did not say that. I said that Sten would take on the physical characteristics of the new qunari-- look at the model and how it differs from human at its base-- but that Sten would also be hornless and probably bronze.

If I say things like "probably" or soften my words in other ways, it's because we haven't done it yet. People like to take even descriptions of our intent as iron-clad promises, so we avoid saying that we are doing things until we've already done them. If you choose to doubt our intent until and unless we do, that's fine by me.

You just confirmed a Male Qunari S/S LI, Dinosaur Gaider? Because I would love you forever if you did.

And you just did. Because the voices said so :<
